It’s not the game I started playing in 2018 anymore, and it saddens me to think of the things lost that the current players don’t even know about. They used to do live in-person Q&As (players would sit by a door in the rec center to get in and ask their questions). The smaller rec center made things cozier (you didn’t have to cross large open areas to join conversations), and the “store” was a random drop system based on 1-4 star boxes (so almost everyone had a unique look for their characters). Down to the smallest details (like the mini me you could pull out from your watch), Rec Room was a playground for all ages. The “community center” vibe is just so sterilized now. It’s lost the love for VR and ignores the folks that built their foundation (both players and former employees). When you hear older players say “I miss the old Rec Room,” you really have no idea what it was. It was an online community that felt local.
the recent ama just proved this too, they say they’ve given us the tools to make our own stuff like this, but they’re not getting the point, we want official content, not the same thousands of community made rooms instead which have already existed for a while
I honestly feel like we should go on a playing strike (meaning we just don’t play until we see results) for about a month or so. Maybe only then they will listen and realize they should listen other wise their company will fail. Maybe it’s time that they receive a reality check.
As a content creator myself i have had to do other game instead rec room cus its not helping me in the long run. The comunety is getting smaler and smaller witch is a real shame. I hope rec room gets it together and fixes the problems cus i would hate seeing the game i fell in love with die

I played Rec Room for 3 years and just recently I quit knew i was going to quit because of rec rooms downfall in many ways updates, skins, weekly's I played Rec Room originally having so much fun but now I've just lost interest. Side thing - I don't think basing your content only on rec room is a good idea focused on the way its going it will die and that goes with channels as well

Hey, long time no see. I agree with all these points and cant help but feel like someone else is living in my house when i look at the state of the game. Granted, i havent looked at it much, but when i come across the rare RR video in my feed, im a little sad to see how the UI, the avatars, and the community has changed. The ink Inc or whatever still feels new to me, which is crazy because thats an old feature. Sorry for the long rant, but i guess what im trying to say is that even though my channel is barely uploading, and i haven't REALLY uploaded rec room content in like 3 years, it still feels like that's who i am, that's what my channel is. Thats where i gained most of my subscribers and i still get comments asking me to come back to rec room. To see my "home" game get swept out from underneath me feels like a punch to the gut, to be honest. I know its just a videogame, but I've met really good friends there, and its a part of me. Hopefully rec room will listen. I would really enjoy playing it again.
@@SlushyIsMyName i agree, no matter what new game i start posting, rec room will always be my home game. since recording, rec room has released a good looking dorm update and an ama addressing basically everything in this video. i appreciate that they acknowledge the problems and, even though the answers in the ama were pretty bland, i believe positive changes will be made

I wouldnt say the new UI & Fullbody is a step back. Its just different and to me both look better than the old systems. Yes Cashgrab is a problem, I would agree.

Nope it’s growing there making the same ui as the old one and they added double shoot back to rec room and bringing quest 2 and e to crescendo and adding a new rro on November and adding Nintendo Switch to our game
I don’t think Rec Room will be dying anytime soon because there’s always players joining this game and plus Gribbly said that there will be a new Rec Room quest coming soon

I love how 90% of this is yap, most of these issues are really explainable Real issues would be, the lack of communication (granted mentioned in this video), perform issues due to how old the code and a lot of the way rec room functions is, which is why stuff like the weeklys eventually has to be phased out for a certain amount of time, granted yeah they could try and keep it running but maybe it's breaking other parts of the game because the code is that old And fr, who actually complains about FBA??? It's a cool addition that's completely optional, you can just ignore it

You complain about things that the player base wanted! The players wanted FBAs, but they can’t just take them away if some people don’t like them. You also complain about things that Rec Room can’t fix. (Idk if you said anything about crescendo) You said that we need more quests/rros, but have you noticed how long it takes for Rec room to be downloaded on an avaerage quest 2/3 (what most players play on). It takes a while. About the trash community rooms, Rec Room tries their hardest to remove a lot of them, and they have been doing a spectacular job. If they didn’t do what they are currently doing, we would see NO good/great community rooms, only the bad ones. About the absurd prices of the cosmetics, Rec Room outright stated that they put them at high prices because the ga,e has grown, gotten bigger, and has more staff, which need to be paid. They also said: Although Rec Room is a free game, the people who work at the Rec room HQ need to be paid. About what you said about weekly’s, Gribbly said that weekly’s were too much for them to handle with all the bug fixes, new RRO’s, and updates. They were getting over whelmed with everything they had to deal with. I feel like people just don’t understand how much Rec Room has grown and how much harder it is to make the big changes people are asking for. Take this as an example: When a Rectuber gets really big, they don’t interact with their community more (usually) and they do less of what the community wants. People just need to accept that things change, and all things happen for a reason. All of these complaints telling Rec room, the game that you play, what to do, won’t do anything good.

All these points are so valid. They prob won’t be easy fixed though but the time spent fixing/improving the game would be so worth.
