  • Test of Mercedes air pump for lumbar support. It is stand-alone. 3 wires, that's it. Orange: ground. Red w/ black tracer: switched live/live. Green w/ black tracer: ignition.
It's internally pressure sensing which makes it a good choice for retro-fitting.

Got a problem on my passenger seat of my 2012 g550 AMG. It will make an air pumping sound about every second. Sounds like it’s having trouble keeping the air pressure at the same level. It’s very annoying and quite loud. It won’t ever stop, it comes and goes constantly depending on what adjustment switches are set where

I have problem with this in my 2 year old G Wagon.
Pump has died 6 months ago when the car has warranty. Recently similar issue occurred, pump has some weird noise and at first it gives air in the seat but only after 1 minute both seats start to release the air. At Mercedes dealership told me that this time both vents are broken ( each for 1 seat ) and I have to pay $500 because my warranty expired in the mean time.
To me it sounds that again Pump somehow is damaging these vents but they say it is not possible.
If not, why both vents are broken suddenly in the same time ?

What was your issue? Was your lights blinking on your seat control? I'm having that issue on my 2003 S55. Drivers seat works fine. Pass seat control buttons will blink. Thanks for any help.

J-Styga same issue with my 03 S55. Issue is on both seats. I noticed the pump in the trunk would come on for about 20 seconds then shut off and the seats would work but then have to unplug the pump for it to work again. I found both front right side bags for the side bolster were leaking these have the green hose. I plugged those leaks by removing the hose from the bag and capping it. So now I'm at the point where I think the pump itself is bad from the leaks but now I need to figure out if the bolster bags are replaceable. Any luck with yours?
