  • #ilovervlife #campgrounds #Big-Friendly-RV-Resort We had a long tow from central Florida to the North Carolina mountains. The end-to-end trip was going to be over 12 hours and was more than I wanted to bear in a single drive. We searched for a mid-stop somewhere in South Carolina for an overnight. We wanted at a minimum, water and electricity with the 100 degree July days and knew both the front and rear air conditioners would be needed. We found a new campground, Big Rig Friendly RV Resort, located in West Columbia, SC. This is a very nice campground and as the name implies, is very big rig friendly. A campground we’ll definitely add to our return list for future travels.

    Nobody does a campground review as well as you do. We’ve stayed at two parks you recommended and have not been disappointed. Thanks and look forward to more reviews .

    Just discovered your channel, and subscribed to follow all your adventures! Did I see you at Dickey Farms enjoying some peach ice cream in your intro? We love that place when we visit Forsythe and visit family. We always hit them up for peaches and ice cream. Thank you for showing us around this new park, it will be a new must stay on our list!! Safe travels in NC, we live just south of Charlotte and love all things Carolina's!

      You know, I didn’t ask. Should have. We had a few thunder boomers. Nothing serious. We accept as just one of those Southern things. 😏

    Hi Jerry, glad to see you again. I was curious since most of your travels are in the southeast, what do you do to keep insects, especially ants, out of your RV?

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks. It depends on the weather. We’ve found the best product to use is Sevins. You can purchase at most big box or hardware stores. If the climate is dry, a light sprinkling of the powder on all of the stabilizer landing feet, around tires, and cables and hoses where they make the curve at the ground up the RV. If it’s rains, you’ll need to reapply as soon as the ground drys. If it rains every afternoon as it often does late summer, use the liquid spray. Spray higher up on the jacks. If the small black ants make it inside, use the Terro Liquid ant bait. Where you see the trail put a small puddle on a piece of aluminum foil about half the size of a playing card with a few extra drops on the edge. The ants will go crazy and it will look like a science experiment that got out of hand. Don’t disturb the ants. Let them eat. After 12 hours it will kill the colony. These tips are a bit old school, but works especially in the dry summer when the ants are aggressive. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the video Jerry. I went to their website and tried to book a site for a one night stay for when we head South in October. Every one I clicked on said it wasn't available and it didn't matter what date I put in. Then I tried dates in April 2025 for when we head back North. Nothing was available. I thought that was odd so I started putting in random dates out of curiosity. Either they are booked solid for many months or they need to address the ability to book a site from their website.

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  Месяц назад

      I didn’t try online booking. Not sure if the booking service is impacted by the nationwide security patch problem. Give them a call. Found them to be very nice folks.

    Don't know who told you it was a new park, but we stayed there in March of 2023 and again in March of 2024. Since our first stay, they have made numerous improvements. From your video, they have made alot since this past March. Seems to be good people who run it and they are trying to make it into something special.
