Great job How2D2 handy to know, I come across these damaged bits of ceiling a lot. I guess its a good idea to carry with you some bits of old wood and plasterboard in the back of the van for such occasions. Look forward the next How2D2
You may want to applly a third coat of Polyfilla. Each coat should feathered and extended further by about 4 inches all round using a larger trowel. After final sand rub a very tightly wrung wet sponge over the surface to remove all the dust. Don't forget to use a primer before the 2 topcoats. No taping is necessary for the edges as this hole is quite small. If the patch is large use a FybaFuse or paper tape. Better not to use fiberglass tapes on ceilings. Only on walls.
Cut it before it falls on your head like mine did 🤦♀️😅 also make sure to do all u can to waterproof your bathroom or it will happen again ,als8 like it happened to mine 🤦♀️😅
Great job, I will recommend you to be president of your country and the medal of honor for all your bravery and fabulous skill that was majestic, sir, my friend, comrade. Have a great day.

thank u i was s worried how i was going to do fix my celing holes that are there cos of my big old fans. but now i will be able to do this thx agian hunn x
This patch won't crack because it has no movement with it being celing, and there are enough screws to firmly anchor down the joints too. I have been doing this similar technique for 20 years and I personally haven't had one crack open!
@@ashrevlution3456 I think you're spot on. If you have a lot of experience (20 years) this patch can work but for DIYers and homeowners looking for a quick patch, I don't recommend patching without tape. Thin profile FibaFuse or similar products are smart options to prevent cracking. I've seen too many failed patch jobs that crack or sag. Hats off to the pros that pull these off!
Why didn't you use the fiberglass net roll to reinforce the sides of the square and prevent It from cracking as I see in other videos? Thanks in avance for your your reply, subscribed
Hi. Im Asking myself the same question . I started as a tiler but doing just tiling You have to wait for plumber then the plumber wait for you to finish and so on... and there is no enough space for all of these people in a single bathroom . Doing just one thing all the time is so boring So I have to learn myself other trades bit by bit You dont believe but I do tattooing too. My wife thinks that is a bit too much !
Fixing the wood is the easy part, tears come when you try to get a professional finish with the plastering without having to spend a day rubbing down....😁
Just get the wall board for the best results. The store has cut pieces that go between the stacks to allow fork lifts to get in between. They will probably just give you one if you ask.
Pretty poor job actually. The materials you used were wrong. You needed to use tape. You did not prep the area and you screwed the screws in too deep making the bond less strong. If you are a rookie and no one will see the repair- maybe but it would not have taken much more work to do it right. Using the wood underneath and leaving some room around the new piece of sheetrock was correct but that was about it. This job will fail- it will crack and just not look great. It already does not look good. Also, ever heard of primer? Do bettter next time.
Why all the screws ??? Why not use mitre glue , its instant and no messing about ! Old dog new tricks. Your filler is too wet and the trowel is too big. Excessive sanding, waste of time
The best plasterboard repair video I've seen. Technique worked perfectly for me. Thanks.
Great work my friend I fixed my celling after I learned from your video,,
Thank you so much,,,

Great Job
Lovely job 😁
This was very helpful. Thank you!
Very good plz keep video's coming👍
Good job, but! You might want to put tape on it first to stop it cracking. That will crack when it dries.
That's a good tip, thank you!

i have a round hole how would i tape it while preventing the tape from wrinkling?
@@ryy597
make round hole square by cutting with a drywall saw.

Nice Post!!! Informative and helpful post.
When you jave finished with the poly filla and you paint the ceiling. Must you paint the whole ceiling or just the spot that you fixed?
The paint will flash. So re dec the ceiling
@@BaggieT Thanks
Good vid but use a sanding block. Cheap as chips from wilkinsons or even online.
Or wrap your sanding paper around a flat piece of wood
👍 very good
Perfect thank you I need to do this at the weekend 👍
Brilliant 👌🏼 subscribed

Thank you, so helpful! I may even attempt it myself. {But probably better I marry a guy like you! :-)
Ooh Valerie, you areee awful, but i like you x
Are you supposed to tape the joins
Usman Ahmed, may be you don’t need to on such a small patch
Thank you, helped me a lot
Very good thank you👍
Gyproc Easifill would have been best for the filler goes on smoother and easier to rub down
Thank you.
Great job
Beautiful
Fantastic thank you
What about if the holes 3 times the size
Nice job! Very helpful.
Wish I could sand that fast
How hav you managed to learn so many trades ?.. 👍👍

How much do you charge for a job like this?
£250 please ?
What if I skipped the second wood insert and just filled the gap with more filler?
The filler may fall out if the hole is to big or it will bulge with gravity pulling it down
