Join us as we embark on the Disney Dream for a 5 day/4 night cruise to the Bahamas! On this day, we drive from Vero Beach (where we were for a wedding) to Port Canaveral, go through check-in and security, and board the beautiful Disney Dream.
After touring the ship and eating lunch at Cabanas, we check into our gorgeous stateroom, and then go to the Walt Disney theatre to see Disney's Believe. After the show, we enjoy a delicious dinner at Royal Palace before unpacking and heading to bed! It was the perfect embarkation day--enjoy!

I've been on 4 Disney Cruises and planning on my 5th cruise within the next year or so. I have always loved the moment when they call out the family name when you board. I get emotional every time that happens. I also love the sailing away party. I've always, thankfully, had it outside and the weather hasn't ever really been a problem on embarkation day. So, I was sad to see that you couldn't experience it outside. But, at least you still got to see it! The blast of the Disney horns are always an amazing moment for me.
I am a huge Disney nerd and even worked for the Walt Disney Company as a Disney Store cast member for 16 months and I can tell you that it is always a pleasure to go on a Disney vacation! I hope you enjoyed your vacation!

It really was soothing! The other nights weren't rough, so we didn't get rocked to sleep. I missed it!
Embarkation day is such a bag of mixed emotions! I hate that drill too. Our third time on board it ended up lasting 1.5 hours and we were DONE! Our favourite part of Day 1 is always ice cream and finding our room! One sailing, we walked in and as we were announced, we were selected for family of the week! That was Disneyrific! Love your channel!

We usually pack our swim suits in our carry on and change into them to sit by the pool and relax while waiting for our stateroom. We also love to unpack (well I do anyway...my hubby loves to sit and read on the deck while I get things organized) and get settled on embarkation day.

I’ve done Disney Cruise TWICE!!! One Mexico and one Alaska. I’ve also been on 25+ RCCL cruises. The 2 Disney cruises were the best out of all of them. From the staff to activities to food. Best everything. Glad you had a good time. ✌🏼✌🏼
You are right, embarkation day is not very relaxing. I think the first full day is more fun because there isn't the stress of the drill and not having your luggage and figuring it all out. Looove Disney's Believe though! What a fun way to start your adventure! So glad you had a nice time! I can't wait to watch the next installment!

Booking diners, whats included vs. what isn't, etc. Your videos helped me SOOO much booking our Disney vacation - and were now very close to booking our Disney cruise! The Dream is awesome! One tip I have though is to download the Disney Cruise app. You guys can text within the app without using WiFi, check the navigator so you don’t have to carry it around all day, and before the trip it will have a countdown until your trip. It’s great!
We used the Disney Cruise app 24/7. It was fantastic! Loved the countdown before our trip and using it to both plan our day and navigate the ship once onboard. Great tip!

How fun!!! The sail away party is usually outside and a lot more impressive. I'm sure the rain makes it so they have to improvise. Having a private dinner table is the way to go. We've had both good and not so great experiences with table mates, so we go private whenever possible. On our last Disney Cruise safety drill, we were assigned the theatre, so we just sat there for the duration. It was the best safety experience we've had by far. Can't wait for the next video!!
I know, I was so hoping for an outside Sailing Away party. Next time!! ;) A safety drill in the theatre sounds PERFECT! Hah!

On embarq day we love being greeted on the boat, seeing our stateroom and unpacking. We always get ice cream, chicken strips, pickles and tomatoes for lunch from little restaurant by pool area. For dinner we go all out and stuff ourselves for the first night as a celebration.

That drill is on all cruises, not just Disney. Next time you could just wait until last call so you are not standing so long.

Oh my gosh, you may not watch Britt and Jared from Disney At Heart but they were the ones walking by the icecream at Vanellope's! So cool that two of the Disney vloggers were on the same cruise together.

As you say, you can always rely on Disney to make your experience go so smoothly and just feel extra special! I have such fond memories of my Disney trips and how well organised everything was. So glad you enjoyed your cruise! I wasn't sure if you'd find it a bit much at certain points with the crowd situation, but good move getting a private table for dinner!

We’ve been on about 7 Disney Cruises...loved everyone of them! Embarkation at Port Canaveral is the BEST! You described it perfectly! We’ve done other Cruiseline’s and will admit that the Disney cruises are about 30% more on average than comparable cruises (as far as length and destination) but if you believe in Disney magic, there is no substitute.
'mustering ' , the safety drill IS the worst part of a cruise to me, too, other than leaving the ship when the cruise is over😭! I love standing out while the cruise ship leaves the port, but since it was raining you couldn',t enjoy that! We took a Disney cruise for our 25th wedding anniversary! Love your sharing of your experience!💞

New subscriber! My husband and I have also been married for 3 years and we don't have kids yet either. We love Disney as well as cruising with them. We did our 3rd Disney cruise aboard the Wonder this past March. On our first 2 cruises we boarded early because we wanted to be the first ones on the ship, but more recently we boarded a little after 12:30pm and it was better in my opinion. It was like boom boom boom: eat, room's ready, muster drill, and now FUN!

One thing we did differently on embarkation day from our first Disney Cruise to our second was tour the ship, including the children’s area. On our first cruise we missed so much and didn’t want that to happen again.

Hey while I am very young I’m only 14 my family has fallen in love Disney cruises to the point that I am a platinum castaway club member which means you have been on 10+ cruises. My mom, my sister, and I are taking an 11 night southern Caribbean Cruise on the fantasy so I’m so excited and I may try blogging it from a teens perspective. But to answer your question about the first day, my favorite part has to lunch or when we go swimming. The last couple years I’ve been fortunate enough to go on the longer cruises which are on the fantasy, I love the aqua duck and if you are a higher number boarding call then wear you swimsuit onto the ship and do that as soon as you board because it’s also a long line on sea days. But I am glad you enjoyed your cruise and I hope to see you on one soon.

The beginning of the video was literally all summer for me when I lived in Florida in 2017, it rained and rained where I lived and I hated it xD
Loved embarkation day on our first cruise... going on our second Disney cruise this summer... we went to Cabanas for lunch and then my girls immediately got in the pool... yes the lifeboat drill is a pain but definitely something that needs to happen in case the worst scenario occurs
So fun! We took a Norwegian cruise last fall. My husband and I are a little OCD so we LOVE unpacking and settling into our stateroom on embarkation day. It really allowed us to relax the rest of the trip!
We unpacked that first night too! I love waking up on the first full day all settled in.
