That's a good way to get your back out, lifting a bale ring up on your own. If you know how to run a tractor you won't tear it up!! We feed bales every day and have found out the easiest way to feed hay in a ring is taking wrap off, then dumping it in ring with loader forks.
God forbid you have to get off your fat ass and do some work.

What a joke, place bale feeder over bale by hand. JD try that 30 times a day when it's -30c. Best way is to cut netting off over feeder so the hay that drops off bottom of bale lands inside feeded. Then dump bale on end inside feeder. Takes a good operator with a Deere to not damage feeders.

K, you're absolutely right. It does take a skilled operator to place a bale in a round bale feeder using a bale spear. That's why we recommended this approach in the video for those who are perhaps not quite as skilled and might not have as many bales to handle. @K Reimer its faster doing it ur way. my friend does what u do.. but not with a deere.. we do it the way john deere says 2 do it, only becuz we only have a few cows & our tractor does not have a bale spear or any thing like that. so it works out fine 4 us.. well till we get more cows. lol
Yeah, not everybody feeds 30 bales of hay a day, dumbass.
This method sucks when you have 30 animals waiting to be fed; just wastes the feed as it falls of the bale when you take the wrap off. Then they stomp all over it
Lol, do you suggest leaving the wrap on? I wonder how many of your cows have died from digestion problems?
I leave my wrap on and my cows aren't dead because they don't eat the wrap they leave it at the bottom of the feeder

there are just too many things wrong with this video, one is why ye need such big bales when a 4x4 bales is just as good and is more convenient but i guess go big or go home i suppose. 2 is what the actual fuck way was that putting the ROUND bale into a ROUND feeder? can you guys not see what a circle GOES IN A circle? the way you do it in this video is just unbelievable, you could simply leave the feeder in place and drop the bale in over the top so its on the flat, like did these people not have that toy when growing up where you put the shapes in? if you look from the top down you guys are putting a square into a circle if looking straight down. just drop it over the top using the loader so all you have to do is get out to remove the net or twine. cmon guys like american is meant to be innovative
