Hi Mike, I am glad these songs give you something to think about. I , like you have only daughters, and while I used to jokingly say "it takes just as much effort to marry a rich one as it does my poor one", my wife quite correctly chastised me and instructed my girls just as you have done, that you should work hard and no be reliant on anyone else for you security.. and thankfully it has worked out. I enjoy your musings both mid song and at the end... I can see why your channel is growing. C
This is lovely, Chris. I’m getting a distinct vibe of the Ralph McTell song ‘Streets of London’. And another old song I can’t remember right now. ❤️🇦🇺👍
Clever song, well presented! Yes, I've seen this type of aging woman who has hung her dreams and security on the wrong person, or simply became so dependent because her mother did! My grandmother's were both widowed with property's to run and young kids, but survived! Really you can only rely on yourself, it's taken some women too long to learn that! No man replaces a dad! 🤗
I imagine that if i was to listen to Peter Sarstedt's "Where Do You Go To ( my lovely ) " from the 1960's, and decided to copy it, rewrite it, i would probably come up with this...... Think i prefer the original by Peter Sarstedt and by a long way, it's not even close.
Neil Hannon is a master of his craft. He has a huge body of work as varied as it is interesting. What a talent.
Good morning, all! ❤️🇦🇺👍
G'day mate 👋👋
Half Man Half Biscuit, great Liverpool band
