From Taps aff tae pishin it doon in the blink of an eye 🌤⛅🌥🌦🌧and then back to a wee bit of sunshine. The spot at 12 mins in looked amazing, what a place to wake up in. Shame that people can't take their shite away with them. There used to be loads of bothies down here in SW Scotland and arseholes managed to ruin several really good ones and get them closed.
It's a real shame hey? Drives me mad. Yeah I managed to find some great camping spots. Ref the weather, it was really bad at times, I didn't catch it on camera though.
Nice brother!!! Scotland is such a beautiful country, definitely need to see that Commando Memorial too at some point myself-- and I love Castles!!!! Haha so epic!!! The Bothys are cool, we have similar things on the long and remote trails in the 'states. Thanks for taking us along man, cheers!!!
Outstanding Tom. Your films get better all the time. I love yomping in Scotland and it’s about time I returned, thanks for the kick in the jaffers to get myself moving.
Fantastic two part. Great walk and the end I thought he left his poles against the cabin. Walking away. Keep it up the videos. I tried it for a bit filming. When you set up walk past go back get camera. One thing I'd like to get back in to videos.
Thank you very much for showing! Amazing nature. I walked the West Highland war 2015. In May. The East Highland Way is very interesting, maybe next year?! Best wishes from Germany Viola
Fantastic video really enjoyed watching it 👍. Hope you enjoyed your breakfast at the cafe in Aviemore on the final morning, I saw you in there as I'd stopped for breakfast travelling back down south. Keep up the good work
I enjoyed your video. Did you get stopped at the border by the police looking for books being smuggled into Scotland? It was as if I was there with you. BZ mate. Strangely I never felt the wind on my face or the cold air around me🤣 Hadrian's Wall next? Loads to see and talk about on that one Tom.
Bothy’s are great. Cape wrath trail is great for the bothy experience. Enjoying videos, on my planned to do list the East Highland Way. Should try Injinji liner socks solve blister problems. Used on many long distance trails-game changer
Really good video from start to finish, lots of interesting info about places on route, useful advice on conditions admin and kit and plenty of views of the beautiful landscape. I would suggest your video as recommended viewing for anyone planning the trip. 👍
What a great route Tom. I really liked how those ancient stones were incorporated into the town in a respectful way. And the Barracks looked like you could just through a roof on and move back in. Also those pics you put up at the end were beautiful. After seeing that castle in the Loch all I could think of was going for a swim and checking it out. Maybe in May instead. Nate
Hi Tom, Excellent couple of videos of your journey. Really appreciate your tips on blister prevention. Are you planning on another video reviewing your kit?
Beautiful sceanery out there and really informative, thanks Tom and well done. As for feet even withy drying out at the end of the day afer two days of wet fields and rainy conditions mine were tingling. Bought some sealskinz now but not yet used in anger plus I take a bit of moisuriser with me to pop on my feed at the end of the day. Do you use duct tape for hot spots ever?
Cheers David. Yeah Sealskin socks are great if your boots are soaked. Nothing worse than having wet feet whilst tabbing. No, l don’t use duct tape on my feet, you could in an emergency but micropore tape is much better.
Yeah nice route that. Some great shots there, deer too! Have you got more blisters since you hurt your leg, like your gait changed and it rubs more where it didn't? I watch a lot of chiropractor videos like Mondragon and they often point out foot flaring outwards etc and can often correct it or advise on physio moves to correct it. Cheers man!
Cheers mate. Shame l only had a GoPro as l got fairly close to the deer before they ran off, looks miles away in the footage. I haven’t had any more blisters but it has had secondary effects due to the change in gait, ie achilles and lower back pain. Walking poles help, l never used them prior to the injury.
@@PreparedPathfinder Yeah, I missed so many animals I always carry a small camcorder outdoors now, with a high zoom. I got a lot of the wildlife footage on my channel with it. 1920x1080 but with davinci studio it basically upgrades any footage and you can also upscale video with a.i. tools now. Crazy times eh haha
@@PreparedPathfinder My exact model is "Panasonic HC-W580". There's newer variants of the HC-W580 with a bit less optical zoom at x50, wheras my older one is x59. They all have high (x3000 but it's blocky AF) digital zoom beyond that which is good if you just use it for spotting, but if for recording just stick to optical zoom and crop it in davinci.
The benches in Newtonmore are in the shape of 2 crossed Shinty sticks ( Camans) Its a huge shinty area, bloody lethal game as well. Shinty sticks are usually made of Hickory and also Ash, birch , beech or combinations. A great song by Runrig called " Clash of the Ash " give it a listen.
Great stuff, I'll keep my eyes peeled for more of your videos.
131 Km heroic power, nice video thanks 🙂 scotish power 🙂
Cracking couple of vids mate.
Cheers mate
Enjoyed your journey alot buddy

It's amazing that people raised families in those little bothys many years ago.
Trekking poles do help in that terrain and beautiful scenery as always with Scotland 🏴👌🏻

Loved watching this. Beautiful landscape ! What is the little thermos bottle you filled at the bothy? Looks like a perfect trail mug.
Thanks mate. It’s a Lifeventure thermal mug, l love it. I use it every day.

Epic adventure! Can i ask what make was the green waterproof jacket you took on this trip?
It's a Keela Prosport jacket, a great bit of kit for bad weather.
