Despite his differences with Modi and his ideology it amazing to see Patnaik work well with the central government. It clearly shows that he respects people's mandate and wants the best for his state. He has never shown contempt for Modi as a PM and has never even made an irresponsible statement or undue criticism. He works for his people and their betterment irrespective of who is at the Centre. This clearly shows his maturity and willingness to work for his people. No wonder people of Odisha respect and love him.

Naveen Patnaik's success is amazing . This is his fourth term as CM. What really surprises me is that the opposition to him is virtually non-existent in the state. The INC was all but mostly wiped and even the BJP has never really pushed hard in the state. Nobody criticizes him. It seems he is having a dream run ?

I m a non odia living in odisha since birth for 23 years becoz of my fathers gov job. Presently i m studying in kolkata. Bt if given a chance i would like to live my every day and minute in odisha becoz its d most peaceful place to live. Every one is so grounded here. No matter how rich and promptus u become u will have that person eating pakala with baigana bharta and aloo every alternate day. Sadly my father never owned any property in odisha coz we lived in gov quaters and hence i hav been denied domicile for this state even after living in this state fr 23 years...speaking, reading and writing odia fluently..it really breaks my heart dat after my fathers retirement odisha is not gonna be my home nymore. No matter what i m gonna love ODISHA till my last breath wherever i m...

I am from western Odisha.
The CM may be good in records but here as a student I am mentioning some Points which is reality based I am experiencing and seeing in my area...
Education is most important for the future of nation but here you can see more than 50% teacher posts are vacant.
In Panchayat College Bargarh there are only 2 permanent lecturer in Mathematics for +2, +3 and PG. Here you can see how neglected education is. Not only Mathematics dept. Other dept. also has the same condition.
If the Government is not capable to provide good education to the student, then my question is..
In which perspective the CM is awarded with the IDEAL CM AWARD.
Odish govt is more eager to Fashioniize Bhubaneswar and puri, to show case them as the prosperity scale of odisha, but in it's shadow; western part of odisha have been neglected till now. Really I laughed at those who says bjd is doing good all over odisha.

The ideal CM award is not only given just by giving education or health facilities along with these the political stability is what matters . Odisha has been a very peaceful state so far as comparision to other states. You agree and I am also deeply concerned about development in western odisha. Let's hope for the best.
He knows how to use burocrats and kicking the ministers who has any negative traits. He is a clever person to use and throw people of his party and show off his clean image though he has many shades of grey.
What a genuine man he appears to be. Whenever I visited Odisha, I have found their government facilities absolutely top class. And one more thing, I can never forget that Odisha was the first state to send help, when West Bengal was on a rampage after the deadly Amphan. We'll never forget that. Good luck to Mr. Pattanaik and his able governance, which would lead Odisha into a more prosperous state.

I see that most people commenting against Naveen Pattnaik in the comments are Bengali people. It makes me wonder, didn’t Bengalis vote for Mamata? Your complaints should be directed towards lack of development in Bengal in spite of having a metropolitan city. Mamata Banerjee is dictatorial, anti-democracy and unqualified.
At least, Naveen knows what he is doing in spite of the lack of funds from the centre. Because union govt has always been BJP or Congress , they refuse to help govts that are regional political parties. Development in Odisha in the last 5 years have been quite high with local schemes and people making large scale investments in Odisha especially after announcements about smart city. All grassroot workers and local people can vouch for that. So hats off to all Odia people for coming together instead of creating divisiveness.

2. Because of the timing of election. As the assembly and parliament elections are at the same time national leaders can't campaign in Odisha.

As an Odia I can say he destroyed our state... Despite of huge natural resources, huge coastal area, religious tourism oppertunity Odias have to go out for jobs.

I am from Odisha. This state has highest Emmigeration (leaving the state) due to lack of employment oppurtunities. This state has a declining education system. Many college faculties are not paid. And the situation is not improving.

I've lived in Odisha all my life and do you know the difference between being a permanent resident and visiting a place for a day or two and drawing up a judgement? I've seen the state prosper. I've witnessed the ravages of the 1999 Super Cyclone and today Odisha has the best Disaster Management Programme. You cannot compare Odisha with the metropolis because they always had a brand. But if you look at the stats, Odisha ranks top in the most improved state in most sectors. I agree with the figures. And like Rome wasn't built in one day, so shall not be Odisha! But it's the best state in the eastern zone and better than all its neighbouring states for sure!
