I've seen this performed so many times and always Morrissey changes it a little to bring something new and exciting to it, it's a powerful and very personal song (I think about the very public High Court trial over the Smiths song rights with Johnny Marr, something Morrissey has never forgiven him for)...this is the best performance of all I think. It just shows, despite being past 50 now, Morrissey can still deliver astonishing performances and keep these old songs full of energy, fresh and relevant.
The song was released before the trial and all that stuff. I think it's about the (nonsense) racist allegations and the way the British press unfairly lynched him back in '92.

hey, this is vina del mar festival. it's a festival such as san remo's, but musicians/bands are meant to play live instead. it's shitty, don't expect much from this festival, and the fact that morrissey played is completely odd. you may note many people in the crowd are pretending to show they know the songs and enjoy the show, but they have no bloody idea of who this gentleman is. cheers
