The man took down a team with 3 HOFers in their prime with a 100 year old Jason Kidd as his second best player
Shrek i think it was Jason Terry personally. And I feel they would have won another if they kept Chandler
furious blaze Cuban was an idiot for letting go of Chandler
That's why lebron has no excuses
please dont disrespect the 2011 team to put down another team dirk led the way and had one of the best playoff runs of all time but that team was perfectly built they even swept kobe and beat okc that year theres no way just one man can do that on his own so dont underrate the 2011 mavs and only give my man dirk credit
You tell em Shrek
As a Dallas resident my whole life, this man is my dad
Luciola this is such a true statement 😂
Hell yeah my dad too
He's like that one uncle you let shoot a three because you think he's old but then he just starts busting grapes
😂 😂 😂 😂
Exactly the same! 214 boi
we need a statue of dirk in dallas
100% he'll get his (one-legged fadeaway) statue as soon as he retires.
ogie86 itll be so badass✊ill definitely chip money into it
OG38 - thats sounds awesome...I hope Cuban do that...
you will have one for sure
In germany we already have haha our dirk
The 2011 championship run is still the most impressive of all time. Dominating LeBron and Wade with Jason Kidd and Jason Terry as his best teammates and hitting clutch shots game after game was just unbelievable ... By far the most humble and loyal guy who ever played in the NBA!
Stop saying jasn kidd! It was kidd, if anything put Tyson Chandler in there. basketball is played on two sides of the court fool!
31,000+ points!? Wtf, this dude is a legend! Might be top 10 all time, at don't give me that "He only has one ring!" BS. He carried an average Mavericks team over LeBron's superteam to win it
Austin Frazier I'm a mavs and that championship team was loaded with former all stars that still had game , that's was very talented team
Edgar R Jason Terry Jason Kidd Shawn Marion Tyson chandler were the supporting cast and they were good but without Dirk they're not even making the playoffs because none of them can carry the offense like Dirk did
he's HOF-er no doubt but he is not top 10 all time. some don't put kobe in top10
Nic Ros anyone who doesn’t put Kobe top 10 is an idiot and has no opinion in basketball
Yeah, Kobe was a legend "no doubt about it" but if you look at it stat wise, he is a very inefficient scorer, who shines the best during a pressured moment. I won't say that Dirk is better than Kobe, but at least Dirk had one of the best playoff run in the nba history, he is very efficient scorer, and he also has a season of 50-40-90, (which not many players, especially big men can do)
Dirk is my favorite player of all time
TheLakerFan 24
Obviously you do, dummy lol...along with at least 90 other people.
TheLakerFan 24 still haven’t forgiven dirk for ending pop and Kobe’s career?
Entschuldigung, Nein!...
Aber er ist der beste European of all Time!
Rock Attack sjjj
He come from Wuerzburg in germany and i live there
Undefendable in his prime. 2010/2012. Best European player in history. NBACHAMP2011
Ghostdialoog lmao nah dawg 2004-2013. In 07 he won mvp and you not gonna say he was in his prime?!? And in 2013 they losed 4-2 in the playoffs to the spurs who would win the finals
He was MVP like Russel before THIS. The team made him the best players around those 2/3 years. Finally he right players around thim to make a DEEP run. not just a SPLASH
Just because he had great players around him during these years doesn't degate the fact that he was in his prime
Ghostdialoog
Ginobili is way better than him.
Sir Alexander HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
He is a very special player...
he is a olacak erol
Hedo'nun üzerinden attığı sayı da müthiş Hedo'nun iyi savunmasına ramen.
You would never see the same frame in the NBA, 7foot with high mobility and shooting 3
Charlie Won Kevin Durant lol
Charlie Won and porzingus
3:45 HA GOTEM😂😂😂😂😂👏👏👏
G 18 that was some epic level shit 😂
My favorite PF of all time. Never even heard of anyone who knows basketball who hates this guy. You can't hate him. Simple. He deserved every success he's got. A true professional as well on and off the court. #2011NBAChamps

Heat fans
Christian Yapp-Shing Im a heat fan and even I can’t hate him.
141 likes. Let's keep it at that number.
Real dirk fan would know...how athletic he was...those crossovers thou!
King Bench exactly he had one of the quickest 1st step as a PF and was very mobile like a small forward. Athleticism isn't all about high vertical.
Some of those moves early on were insane. He looked like a guard at times. He put it behind his back!
Mhmm mhmmm faxxx
Well his athleticism is also defined by his balance and coordination in that 7 foot frame.
I think Dirk is one of the few universally loved superstars in the NBA. I've never seen a Dirk hater, lol. Even Heat fans in 2011, I remember a lot of them were salty, but happy for Dirk. lol.
He's way underrated. Also his character besides the field is outstanding. No scandals, always glad to help and also agreed to renounce money so the Mavs could afford another player. An outstanding human being.

Legends acknowledges legends
The German NBA legend the one and only ....DIRK NOWITZKI!!!!!!!
Unguardable fadeaway jumpshot. 💪 🏀
Sanic The Great Hey! Hope you’re doing great! I post great nba content! Can you sub to me and be active? It will mean alot! Thanks! I did a dirk vid too! Check it out!
This is the GOAT PF I don’t care what anyone says. Switch him and Duncan they win at least 6 rings in his time. He’s never had help here in Dallas he is one of the most underrated Legends of All Time!! We love you Dirk!!!! #MFFL
I'm a Mavs too and even I wouldn't say that TBH. Dirk in his heyday was nigh unstoppable on offense yeah, but he's always been a pretty bad defender. Duncan was great on both sides of the ball. That's partly why I think very subtly that parting with Nash was a good idea, they wouldn't have won any championships playing 3 on 5 on defense.
First Name Last Name Honestly it doesn’t matter who was better for me. I’m just excited to see the talent they inspired go head to head with one another (Kristaps for Dirk and AD for Duncan).
Top 1 is reaching it. Top 3 for sure though
Yea I might say possibly a good trade would have been interesting to watch this but I say a Tim Duncan and dirk would complete the rolls for spurs actually
PusoPimpOVER9000
I mostly agree with that as well... I believe Dirk is the 2nd greatest power forward of all time, but he wasn't greater than Duncan and I don't believe it's because of defense (otherwise you can say that Karl and Garnett were greater than Dirk and I don't believe that)... I believe it's because how Duncan was able to adapt himself to form a championship team with Popovich from the beginning of his career... also Duncan had a higher IQ than Dirk and also made his teammates around him better than Dirk did
This man predicted the future of big men
For sure. No denying the influence he has had on big men.
They always ask when was the last time an NBA Team won a NBA Finals with only 1 superstar. Well, this guy right here was the last man to do so, and against a SUPER team btw. #Underrated
Ai Yukino
Agreed... also Hakeem Olajuwon the same thing in the 1994 Post Season and NBA Finals
Dallas has won an NBA title in 2011! Dirk is also the Finals MVP! That's the moment that Mavs will remember the most!
you forgot the refs
1:11 ankle breaker
He didn't need to fade lmao
Heard the bone snap on that one😆
Dirk put some dudes on posters 😐😐
League of his own
Dirk my man
CLEVELAND WARRIORS Hey! Hope you’re doing great! I post great nba content! Can you sub to me and be active? It will mean alot! Thx bro! I uploaded a dirk vid too! Check it out🔥
Top 3 PF of All-Time
Jacob Pasternack Right behind Duncan.
Even as a diehard Mavs fan I wouldn't agree. My top 5 PF's of all time go: 1. Duncan (I hate to admit it) 2. Malone 3. Nowitzki 4. Garnett 5. Barkley
Jacob Pasternack Malone is not better than Dirk lol
Jacob Pasternack 1.Duncan 2. Nowitzki 3. Rodman
Jacob Pasternack I personally Duncan is #1 and then you can put either Dirk or KG at 2 or 3. Same with Chuck and Malone at 4 and 5
0:20 Dirk crossing Pat Ewing in a Sonics jersey!
I THOUGHT HE'S GOING TO RETIRE. DON'T GIVE ME HEART ATTACKS.
putragis08 ikr
putragis08 he is gonna retire after the 2019 season
He will retire With 41 no question
Hey, he's 40 now, the time will come soon.
Cenk Karabulut you dont know that, your guess is just as good as anyone elses, though it might be time at that point
What is the function and apex of Dirk Nowitzki's high arcing shot?
At 7'0'' tall, Dirk Nowitzki towers over almost everyone on the court. To add to that, he has one of the highest arcing shots in the league, which makes it so satisfying to see the ball go in the hoop, as the ball flies so high. In one clip of the 2011 NBA Finals, Dirk Nowitzki's shot goes almost off the screen. So I became curious, how high did this shot truly get at its apex, and if I know the starting and finishing point and the vertex, what is it's function?
I was able to find out that his typical release point is 9.5 ft high! This gave me a starting point with the y-intercept, as the y-axis was the height of his shot, and the x-axis was the distance. I also was able to see in the clip that his release point was roughly half a foot or so behind the three point line, and at this point the 3 point line is 23.9 feet away from the hoop. Thus, I could assume that he was 24.4 feet away from the hoop, giving me the starting and finishing x and y axes: (0, 9.5) and (24.4 , 10) (An NBA basketball rim is 10 ft high)
For the apex, I had to find out how high was at its peak, which would have been at 11.2 feet far (22.4/2). One of the announcers can be heard saying, "that's as high as the shot clock". In reality, it looks even higher. By the fact that an NBA backboard in 42 inches tall, and the top of the backboard is 13 feet high, and a little bit of photoshop on my computer, I was able to estimate that you could stack up 1 and 2/3 back boards above this. With dimensional analysis and addition, I was able to find that the peak height of his shot was 18.83 feet high, about the maximum height of a Giraffe!
I then put my three new values into a 3x3 and 3x1 matrix to find out what this function would be. I plugged it into my calculator, and got y= -.07x² + 1.6x + 9.5.
As Dirk is nearing the end of his career and the hall of fame, this gave me more appreciation for the legend.
note: some parts of this could not be fully accurate due to resources, such as the true heights and distances.

Thank you, good job!
Dang bro you got my respect for that
This is what his German coach calculated and then practiced with Dirk day in day out. They wanted to make Dirk's shot unguardable.
UNDERRATED!
wrecker a goat-_- your a wetawd
wrecker a goat-_- top 10 in all time scoring list lol okay buddy
Happy birthday, Dirk!
I can't put it into words how much you meant to me when I started playing basketball. Every time I was on the court, I would try you patented fade-away jumper just for fun against friends. I'll never forget the day I shipped your jersey all the way to my home and into my hands - it was a moment that I'll remember forever. Your jersey is one of my most treasured items I have.
An underrated legend - in just one season, he swept the then-two-time-defending-champion Lakers with Kobe Bryant, then schooled a very young Oklahoma City team (that beat our asses the very next year lol), and finally, in the Finals, he embarrassed LeBron James' big-three Miami Heat in 6 games - completing one of the very best Playoff runs in history.
Hey, with maybe a little bit of luck, we could've upset the Spurs in 2014 as an 8th seed (just saying, after all, we were the only team that took them to 7 games).
My mind knows who the G.O.A.T. of the NBA is, but in my heart, you are, and always will be, the Greatest of All-Time.
Anyways, congrats Dirk on 40 years - we Mavs fans don't mind you being here, so you can retire whenever you want.
#MFFL #DirkTheGOAT
Dirk can dunk
Rock Attack he was so athletic in his younger days
wrecker a goat-_- yes he can
wrecker a goat-_- yes he can, if there's an idiot that would be you. Dirk served Facials more than you saw in this Video.
wrecker a goat-_- it happened multiple times in NBA lol. Keep beeing skeptical. There's no 7 footer who cant dunk whether what basketball league they are or whatever play they make most.
If you are at least over 20years og age you wouldnt ask silly questions.
Dirk is a living legend. *SO* glad to have watched his whole career play out. What an honor....
Ewing in a Sonics uniform (0:17) still a strange sight to this day.
I watched every shot and was there for the last one in the AAC! Amazing career and I'll never forget it! #THANKYOUDIRK
I'm not sure people get just how truly good and revolutionary his game was (and still can be)
One of the most underappreciated players of all time.
Yo those throwback drive and yams. Wow
The Vince Carter celebration impersonation is hilarious!
Was one of the most unguardable players. His fade away was so nice a 7 footer that was able to score in a variety of ways
47 til infinity And his first step is underrated. Super quick. You see how easily he gets past his when driving?
I love how it start with only dunks and then transforms into his signature fade aways! He evolved during his career! #beastDirk
Favorite player #Dirk
Jonas Conrad Hey! Hope you’re doing great! I post great nba content! Can you sub to me and be active? It will mean alot! Thanks, I did a dirk vid too! Check me out👍🏼🔥

The best European player of all time and one of the best power forward in the NBA my idol Dirk greetings From Philippines
#MFFL
You simply cannot hate this man. A true NBA legend and future hall of famer when it’s all said and done. It’s going to be a sad day when he retires.
As much as i am a diehard lebron fan i am happy that he got his first ring dirk is a legend
prime Dirk was so quick and agile. He was pretty much unguardable for any player
Kd is just a quicker albeit weaker Dirk. I feel like Dirk doesnt get enough respect.
Love Dirk so much
Raised in Chicago, idolized Jordan of course. Moved to Dallas as a kid ;parents divorced. I can tell you now, this mans humbleness does it for me, to me he is the greatest! MFFL
2:40 absolutly swaggersouls
The most clutch highlight reel ever!!!
Love Dirk.
#RESPECT
Just beautiful to watch he’s so smooth
Nirk Dowitzki is such a fantasbulous free throw scorer, and an amazing defensive dunker too.
Even Kobe was amazed by Dirk greatness!!!
2011 was so much fun!!!

Happy Birthday big man. Would love to see you play next season and secure being the 5th All-time scorer
Just a proper LEGEND.
I watching a documentary of him on Netflix and I like it so far. I recommend it!
What's it called?
nacobjewsome nowitzki the perfect shot
I watched it as well. Great insight to him as a person and what he did to get to where he was.
DER PERFEKTE WURF
The definition of loyalty = Dirk Nowitzki
Legend.
one of the greatest. ever. what a legend.
I remember when he posterized Divac, back then there was a little rivalry between the mavs and the kings so that was really satisfying for me as a mavs fan.
My all time favorite basketball player!! Hope I'll be able to watch him play live. :(
Underrated Still! Mav fan for life here! Thank you Dirk ! You now will have a Statue in front of your street name at AAC🏆
A REAL Legend
Time go so fast, #Dirk Goat
Man he was so fast! #legend
He was definitely a different type of bigman. He is what i call '' unique ''.
One of the greatest scorers of all time. Just simply unappreciated.
A loyal man right here

Wayyy ahead of his time. Paved the way for shooting bigs today
Damn a 7 footer making iso play behind 3 point line and driving like that.
Happy birthday Dirk 🐐
This is what greatness looks like
One of my favorite players. Even with whooping my poor nets up and down the east for many years
You got to love dirk
dude those Dallas vs Sacramento games back in the day were the bomb!!
Dirk is the best👏👏👏
You can't hate Dirk, he did everything right. back to 15yrs ago when I first started to watch NBA, that time Mavs mainly competes with Kings, Jazz, Spurs...
The best stretch big of all time
Dirk can now rest easy knowing that the mavs is in good hands. Luka is next.
And now Porzingas!
I feel like luka is not the long time answear if you want to be succesful in the playoffs...dont know why but you'll see
@@Drmic1999 How so?
Clemens Haake dude Luka is the future. He’s scary good already.

Legend......
The big man unbelievable footwork, and athletic shooting ability.
Man used to cook KG and Timmy. Prime Dirk was unstoppable on offense
Henny Spiderman yea. Only reason he was never #1 PF in eveyones eyes is because he had little defence. For sure the best offence of any PF ever. KG and Duncan had way better defence put if you had but Dirk on San he wouldve won more than they did with Timmy
AverageRonin facts
on offense. 50% of basketball is defense. So the other 50% of the time he was doing nothing and he was worthless
@J Fitz defense matter when KG beat dirk like 1000x in his career and ended up winning a lot more rings and awards, so yes defense matters more than offense lol
@@tynao2029 Nah, Mavs has 50+ wins every year for more than a decade, KG was struggling to make the playoffs. Both of them only has 1 ring, and KG has less all-NBA team. Not take away anything from KG but they aren't close.
R.I.P. X
CANT GET OVER IT
He is still NOWITZKI
He will be NOWITZKI forever
I respect this man a lot... he had a great career... the 2nd greatest power forward of all time behind Duncan... the most skilled scorer among high post players of all time
Dirk in his prime was so absolutely amazing. Top 10 all time easy!!!
as a german, all i can say is... danke dirk, besonders für das jahr 2011, welches ich u.a. auch deshalb nie vergessen werde!
My favorite player of all time. Glad he got a ring.
