#Metallica #Load
You know what? I'm about to say it. Load is a great album.
There's a couple of stinkers in it. Mama Said and Cure.
@@loukola5353 is it a metal song? No but it’s a good song
@@loukola5353 Cure? Really?
@@loukola5353 Understanding Metallica and calling Mamma Said a stinker is just plain stupid. Can't respect that.
Of course, if don't understand Metallica, it is a valid opinion (as are all opinions, in a way).
But calling Mama Said a stinker and being a fan of the band is just not compatible. You may not like it, but calling it a stinker? Nope. Invalid.
If you're not a fan, well... who the fuck cares about your opinion here anyway?
These fucking kids nowadays, damn...
@@loukola5353 I like comments like these, Op hates them so they suck.
I was in high school when this came out. I was big into heavy metal and a lot of my friends were too, and I really liked the “Load” album but all my friends talked trash about it and I went along with the crowd and just listened to it at home alone with headphones. Years and years later I was talking to one of my old metal buddies and we were saying how this album aged really well and told him how I used to listen to it back then and I liked it but I was too much of a pussy to admit that to everyone, and he was like “dude I did the exact same thing!” I guess you can say we’re all grown up now.
I was -3 years old when it came out 😆
Great history 🤘🔥
Phuk Yeah!!!
I bet when ST Anger released they were all longing to hear Load and Reload.
Actually metallica dead after black album but some of heavy track in load and reload is good not all tracks you must know this
I know a lot of people hate this era of Metallica but I love this song. It grooves and still remains heavy. Jason's tone was awesome and James' voice is strong through the entire song.
This song kicks major ass
I have my faves and I have my likes for Metallica songs, there's not a song I don't "like" simply because I am biased..of course my FAVES happen to be on KILL/RIDE/MASTER/JUSTICE but understood when they softened up and added some southern rock vibe to LOAD...the haters of this era expect them to duplicate those MASTERPIECES on every new album, IMPOSSIBLE. Metallica will always be part of my soul!
This era Metallica is really good
Just look at Hardwired to self destruct!
Coincidentally, it was THIS era of metallica I first discovered. 11 years old, first getting into music, had a cool ass older metalhead cousin who I wanted to emulate, and the album load was released that year, and thus, a new metallica fan was born!
Load i Reload to był dobra era stoner rocka.
Load does not deserve all the hate it gets. 10/10 album
Besides Poor Twisted Me, of course...
11/10
No, that's reload because they perfected this sound on reload and made it a little shorter @@stanpopovsky
This is easily one of my favorite Metallica songs. It goes hard. Love that little,
"Off to never-neverland..." at the end harking back to Enter Sandman.
The opening lyrics were also a call back to some song on Black Album as well; so it seems to me.
The whole song is structured just like sandman as well!
///We/// Are Winning 🇺🇸 Always Do The Exact Opposite Of What (((they))) Say
I noticed this "never neverland" first time today. Listened this song surely 20times
Load and Reload had some great riffs on it.
i feel u bro
Ty Manning ya they were really underrated albums
David Gomez Montoya
rolling Stones
Those who only liked the Black album weren't true Metallica fans...Kill 'em all, And Justice for All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets were the ultimate metal albums in my humble opinion.
The way he spits out "KING". Awesome!
As someone who loves the old Metallica, I still think Load and Reload got far more crap than they deserved. They're actually good records, just different from what everyone expected. I think it's ok for bands to try something else after 15 years of playing the same stuff...
Agreed
Oh yeah I agree with you Load & especially Re-Load were gud but the Old stuff WERE THE BEST YOU HAVE TO AGREE OR AM I LIVING IN THE METAL PAST (A PLACE I LOVE TO BE).
Ha, I wonder how much crap could get Death Magnetic if it was released that time.
i agree , how can you calm the thirst of another "black album" , or another "..and justice for all" without triyng new stuff
Load and ReLoad are good albums to drink to.
This is the only song in history that I have actually gone out of my way to hear. I heard it on the radio on my way home from work one night and spent about forty-five minutes looking through every song on every Metallica album just to find the name and hear it again.
To me, this is one of the best tracks in that album! It's got a nice vibe and sonic energy...
Alain Parada this is the best track fro that album hands down
IT NEVER GETS OLD.
\m/
Georgia, you're gorgeous. :)
the song might not but this comment did XDDD
I'm 13 and No. No one else listens to this in my school. It's a shame
I agree with you with that 💯
stunning albums, don't care what anyone says.
Metal Heads can be annoying as fuck
Steven McKnight all Metallica albums are good over 110 million sold worldwide
Absolutely, I loved every bit of it
well said my dude well said
plenty of good songs on them & who knows next time you see METALLICA live they might just play the odd song from these albums so id start learning the lyrics
Why don't people like this song? Because it was on Load? Oh grow up.
Hah! Right? Load happens to be my personal favorite album
Anthony Smith carry bitch cherry
+Jamz Hatefeel That's exactly why they don't like it. I for one think it's a great song.
Ikr.. A lot of good songs were on load. Bleeding Me, Hero of the day, Until it sleeps, Cure, King Nothing,
Hero of the Day is awesome. I'm listening to The Dubliners' 'Whiskey in the Jar' right now. I'll take the Metallica cover, hah
The way James says king when he sings "Where's your crown, King Nothing?" is cool
Maturing is realising that Load and Reload are very good albums. Both are very underrated.
So I was mature when I was 17.
Liking or disliking certain music doesn’t make you mature or immature. Anyone who dislikes Load/Reload have every right to feel the way they do. And the opposite with liking it. We all got different tastes and that’s fine.
///We/// Are Winning 🇺🇸 Always Do The Exact Opposite Of What (((they))) Say
The thing about Load and Reload is that they were the first albums they actually ALL wrote music together on. Previous albums were pretty much James and Lars.
All without Jason.
@@milenpenev1362 Jason has a writing credit on one song from Reload ..

All the things you've chased.
Then it all crashes down
And you break your crown
And you point your finger
But there's no one around
Just want one thing
Just to play the king
But the castle's crumbled
And you're left with just a name
Where's your crown, King Nothing?

It's 1997. My age is 8. We bought a new TV that year and there were channels broadcasting foreign music on this TV we just bought. I'm Turkish and I didn't know anything other than Turkish pop music. One day, while browsing the channels, I was looking at foreign music channels again. my god! A man in fur and sunglasses was playing the guitar and singing at the same time in the white snow. I was surprised at what happened. I was impressed by a song whose language I did not understand for the first time, and also encountered a style of music that I had never heard before. I didn't know who sings the song, what the name of the song is, I was just locked in the TV watching the man in front of me with admiration and amazement. Since there was no youtube and spotfy at that time, I only expected this clip to come out on TV. Unfortunately it wasn't published much. I came across it again a few years later and this time I learned the band name and immediately had my father buy the metallica cassette. Thank you, the band that made me love rock/metal music. thanks james king loves from Turkey. Also, thank you for helping my country during the earthquake. Once again I admire you. I love you very much 🖤🙏🇹🇷
This song was written about Axl Rose, because, well the song describes him perfectly
This is from a great era in Metallica's musical history. Love this song.
Load and Reload are The best Metallica albums of the cassette tape era.

The Black album was widely panned as a sell-out album. But as a lifelong fan, I have watched these guys go through many changes. Album after album, these guys continue to kick-ass. They deserve much credit for Load/ Reload, St. Anger, S&M. and everything prior.
Vincent Whitley the black album is also one of the top selling hard rock albums of all time
It’s funny how there biggest selling album is also considered as there worst by there hardcore fans, I struggle to listen to the whole black album now but it just sounds to clean it has no character, I don’t hate it but
@@nopomopo5003 no it doesn’t lol, it has character alright
St Anger is a perfect example of how to get nu metal wrong. Some Kind of Monster did not need to be 9 minutes long.
Never gets old. Hard working band. Love Metallica.
@Helen Charley. I agree what’s your favorite song
This shit never gets old ! I remember when I first heard it 14 years ago ! I know that it was years after it was released lol ! But it got me right away ! James vocals the riffs the mixing ! Everything is so fucking perfect , I guess thats what positions Metallica ahead of other bands , there are other bands out there who play faster and " Thrasher" but i believe it's the harmony of the vocals and the instruments and how everything is just so aligned with everything ! God bless Metallica !
Meanwhile in Alaska they saw the best Thrash Metal Band in the world, and a guy putting on a crown everyplace he goes.

@@s0lid232 St. Angers awesome but lulu sucks so not all of them are good.
if you love st anger then let me say mate you must be a wanker
St. Anger wasn't made to be a good instrumental album, it was made for when your really angry and need to let it out and for that soul purpose only so everyone saying that St. Anger was a bad album you've must have never been that angry before or just haven't listened to it when you have been. And it's not even that bad like, come on guy's.

Rock on!!! Big fan been listening since my youth and im 50 now love it.
this is my life. Chasing Things that never manifest. Going Places but never getting anywhere. Starting just to stop or be stopped. I hate feeling like I never progress. Even if I have come a great distance in life. It's like, my fate is always in someone else's hands. I hate that. Why can't I ever expect to be treated fairly by employers. I mean it seems like the harder you work the less hours or credit they want to give you. Why can't I just be rewarded when I do good. Why must I slave to make others rich and never get closer to my dreams.
David Miller cool story bro

Take the best of load and reload and put them together and you’ve got an awesome album, lots of good songs on the 2 underrated albums.
It didn't get bad after the Black album it just got different... but it's not a bad difference by any means.
for real tho jesus they r muscian's not slave's to a genre
Almost as if they matured with age, their music gained a new direction and mellowed a little. The one thing that still holds true to it though is their ability to create a masterful piece of music. Haters can hate, people can whine. Everyone does when they cannot compete! Not many Metallica songs that I would hit that Fast Forward button on out of the good 100 odd in the playlist!
But St.Anger & Lulu is bad.
Gaheen Kibria Lulu is a Lou Reed album 🙄
They went off into a brilliant direction. My favourite metallica albums are for the most part pre-black album. But the majority of my all time favourite songs came afterwards. I don't understand the hate in all honesty, it's absurd. Imagine if all they did was trash albums. How dilluted it'd become. They matured with age and as did their music and we ultimately have two distinct sounds that are both as Metallica is at gets.
if anyone needs any more proof metallica is truly another breed, bring up this music video.
It's ONE of my favorite albums load and re!!! Tyallsfm!!!

T-Schnizzle St. Anger too!? Well, the rifts and lyrics were tight. And the sound was aggressive and raw. I only found two flaws with that album.
1-All of the songs were 2 to 3 minutes too long. 2-Since Lars was instructed to keep his drum patterns simple, the songs felt a bit flat at times.
I liked the writing on that album also. (I'll admit that) But it sounded more like the ruff draft of what could have been an Amazing hard core Punk album.
(That album did not need solos)

Every true fan around my age loved this album and Re-Load. I think something to keep in mind is that this was also around the time of Napster. And Metallica was one of the more vocal artists who (rightfully) spoke up against it. That level of free- sharing was hurting a lot of smaller bands and artists. The way things work now is financially better for the artists.
Load is a masterpiece
Almost every metal band experimented for a little in the nineties.Metallica knew how to do it.They had more inspiration than only metal ( classic rock, blues, country, southern rock, grunge, punk, new wave ) so they used everything! It's heavy shit and artistic success!!!!
