I used to listen to this song and "Burnin' and a-lootin'" a lot before the revolution in my country, Libya. It was my dream to see my country become a democratic state where the rule of law reigns supreme and all men are equal. Even though I know that there is no true democracy in the world, but I wanted one no matter how far-fetched the idea seemed at the time. We had all the potential to be a prosperous nation. We had the resources, and the benefit of a wide country with a small population. But we had a system that only allowed people who bowed down before the Gaddafi regime to prosper. The 15th of February 2011 was the happiest and most regretful day of my life. At midnight while I was having a cigarette at my bedroom window I could hear chanting, police cars and sweet sound of that 42 year wall of fear collapsing. It was a revolution. But it was a revolution that soon turned into a nightmare for my country. We are still at war 3 years later and there is no sign of it ending, especially now that ISIS has entered the scene. This song still has an eerie effect on me. "It takes a revolution to make a solution." But for that solution to happen you need a revolution that happens in one's heart and soul. A revolution against ignorance, hate, and greed. When this spiritual revolution happens a popular revolution will have better effects because it has been carried out by a people who love their country more than anything else. R.I.P Bob Marley. This is probably the most honest and true comment I've ever read on youtube man, as i read you're comment tears starts falling down my cheek because i feel so hopeless... and i live in a country where democracy is taken kind of taken for granted, you see it's kind of reversed, and that people in my country don't understand that what we've got, in our country... is far grater than most others countries thru out the world, I'm not saying that my country is flawless to 100% in anyway but to some is pure heaven, and people wont seem to understand that, that, what we've got, is so special, and that you have to nurture it, and cherish it carefully otherwise it wont last. and i feel sad that people don't live under democracy rule 2015, because i strongly believe in democracy, equality and education. If a country nurture these it will achieve great things, and war will be faded memories in the history books of what and how it was and how it began.. revolution that is... and the so called best way to fight dictatorship, communism is what you have in your state of mind, in your soul, in your heart that if a whole population of a nation feels the same "the strong" reluctance against dictatorship, communism, conspiracy then... no matter how long the battle, justice will always be grand victorious, because it's a chain reaction you see, if you dare to stand up and fight for democracy, for justice, for equality education other people will see that, and think of their country and that is how justice spreads, all it takes is for one person to wake a nation that sleeps under false bases... but you have to understand, people see things, and learn differently and with that said.. people wakes up differently, and they have to perceive in their on pace, and to realize what is possible, the sky is not the limit, think beyond that.
