I hear you there! I'm mainly editing for work and at the beginning it always seems this is going nowhere and is sh*6&, but trusting the process and keep going, often ends up surprising even myself and ultimately makes you and the client happy, because you got it done and more often than not, it's great. Same thing happening with me
Sitting at a desk for more than 6 hours without food and continuous editing has ruined my physical health.
Once, I even edited straight for 12 hours because of the deadline, and the video didn't meet the quality expectations it looked terrible which disrupted my mental health.. 😩
I have to constantly remind myself to take a break.
i have a question do you script all you videos word by word and plan the b rolls you will get..? how can you get enough b roll for the video and the right stuff to be short\/ please explain
Yes I write a script and visualise the video in my head before getting the b rolls. I also write down a shot list to make sure everything I need in covered

I do my own stuff on RUclips plus video editing for one client at the moment. I manily do it because I wanna have side-income but I feel it kinda messes with my own stuff. In my experience I find it frustrating to work for another when I'm maybe not as passionate as the other person. So my quesiton: would you rather only do your own videos full-time or do you like the balance of video-editing for others and do your own creative stuff on the side?
I try to take up projects that I personally find interesting. If I could I would only do personal projects but I try to take up only those commercial projects that align with my vision and goals otherwise it’s like a distraction.

Hey bro I want to know what are other skills you learned for video editing except the software. I have seen a lot of course but thier whole focus is software software software. No one really talks about anything else and if they talk about its too surface level knowledge. So what you suggest me as a video editor ? Till now I know storytelling sound design compositions and cuts that's makes a video/film worth watching
