One day I was praying to know how I could save my kids and the thought came into my mind “You are not going to save them I am; you are just going to help. “ That was such a relief. A great burden lifted off my heart. I felt so much hope for not only them but me too.
I literally sent this episode to my whole family because I loved all of the insights and instruction about raising a sin-resistant generation. Thank you for your experience!!
These were wonderful episodes! I love this guest, Jenae. She’s so relatable. Please have her on again LOTS!! If there’s anyone with BYU Education Week, she’d be a great teacher to do a class on gratitude. 💜💜
Seems like every single week I watch this podcast the Lord tells me something that is what I need to hear to help me through the hardest trial of my life, and it’s always hopeful and encouraging. Today it was around 57:10 when Dr. Nelson said “never give up on someone” just when I was feeling like giving up, and I hope that others will hear this and never give up on me. Thank you Gentlemen for hosting this wonderful podcast, for your insight, and especially for bringing on so many powerful people and their knowledge, experience, and testimonies.
While listening to this podcast, my adult daughter was looking for something important and couldn’t find it. I gave her a few suggestions on where to search and she said she had looked there already. I asked her if she had prayed yet…. She said yes, but that He hadn’t answered her prayer. I suggested maybe she didn’t need to find the item at this moment or that she should pray again. She left the room and I started hoping her prayer would be heard and answered. I knew I needed to trust in Heavenly Father for whatever the outcome might be. 25 mins later, she came back to me with a huge smile on her face. She had found the item. What a spiritual experience for both of us! Thanks for the wonderful gift you give to us with this podcast.
Sister Nelson, this was incredible. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your experiences and wisdom! I have a married nephew who has gone into very dark paths, and a 12-year-old son who I fear will leave the Church before too long, because he’s so resistant to the gospel most of the time. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your perspective and insights!
Wow, I just love Sister Nelson as a righteous Latter Day Saint who has overcome the world and is stalwart. Great testimony and great learning. Thank you so much.
Wow, what an amazing woman! LOVED her story, loved what she said about her father coming into her life (What a wonderful man!), loved her words about Mary Stark... LOVED this episode!!!
Thank thank you I needed this so much…I got married at 47 and became a step parent to 3 kids who don’t believe they are religious their dad and I are trying so hard to not give up on them…your story has given me hope and peace thank you! ❤
This dear guest is amazing! Her testimony and the life she has lived and her wisdom she has shared is incredible and so beautiful! Thank you. It seems so lame, but I am so grateful for her tender, sweet spirit and words of wisdom! ❤
What a powerful message. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will continue to pray for angels for my loved ones who are no longer actively seeking the blessings of the gospel as I continue to seek to help others in my small sphere of influence.
I love all the Follow Him podcasts. I just wanted to let Sister Jensen know that she hit on so many things that I’m dealing with as a mum of six amazing children - even right down to the son with dyslexia! Thank you sister for being a reminder. The spirit taught me today.
What a wonderful testimony your guest has. I am sure it has touched everyone hears it, it surely has touched mine. We as parents have to remember God has a plan and they are his children so we should not give up on them.this has stirred up my feelings of hope. Thank you so much for this wonderful podcast
I lost privileges if I didn't go to church. No car, no motorcycle, couldn't hang with friends. I'm now 60 and I cannot motivate myself to get to church. I pray for that, I plan to go but I just have this huge mental block. My dad had been dead for 40 years but being forced to go to church I think really messed with my head. I haven't given up, but man it is horrible to get passed that block.
It has taken me a long time to get through this material. For instance, when you were talking about Lehi and Nephi "growing up unto the Lord". I ended up having to read President Nelson's talk, Spiritual Momentum. Then I came across Elder Renlund's talk about the Virtuous Cycle of the Doctrine of Christ. And so it has gone.
As an adult, my son told me that he learned to turn to the Lord by watching me do so. I always left my door open when I prayed, and I pray out loud, so he knew that when there were problems, he had a source he could look to for answers. I'm glad I actually did something right as a parent! The power of our example is meaningful and significant. | One of my children had a problem and they were very unhappy. I so much wanted my son to have happiness, and then the Lord told me, "You want him to change. Love your unhappy boy the way that he is." Yes, the Lord has His own plans for our children. | Thanks Dr. Nelson, for your story. I had a hard life, too, and when I was 12-14, I was doing some really destructive things for myself. At 16, my friend taught me the gospel, and at 17 I was baptized. There are alot of us out here with a similar kind for story. How I thank the Lord for the blessings of the gospel! Wonderful episode..
You two seem to be magical in knowing when things are sounding a bit discouraging to some of us who do not have the perfect LDS family and saying just the right thing to lift the heaviness and keep us on track knowing that God surely can do his work and he is good at it. Thank you
We listen to you from Amargosa Valley, Nv. I hope you invite Jenae back, she is amazing. We love her knowledge and openness. You have a wonderful program and we enjoy this help with our stdy of the 'Come Follow Me' curriculum. Thank you
These ideas around children having their own access to God and to manage their own religiosity correct and true. The hardest thing is to know this is true, but to see them make their own choices that are diametrically opposed to truth. Not all of them recover from those poor choices--at least in this life.
This episode was so good and filled with such great insights. Thank you, Dr. Jenae Nelson, thank you for sharing your knowledge and for sharing your your story.
Listening to this podcast has truly been a blessing. Thank you to all of you for sharing your personal experiences and testimonies. This particular lesson hit home for me. I am a YW leader as well as a mother with children who have left the faith. I am so grateful to Heavenly Father and for His infinite love and caring for all of His children - mine, included.
I really, really loved Dr. Jenae Nelson. Even though I enjoy and learn from all the guests, some are less humble than others. Jenae is so educated and yet is so real and down to earth. She is so humble and has a gift for teaching, and her testimony is tender yet incredible. I will be sharing some of her thoughts with our married children about the importance of children and youth having personal spiritual experiences to stay true to our faith in this challenging world. I loved listening to her, she brought a wonderful spirit and and I felt so uplifted. Thank you!!!
You two +Nelson have enlivened my sense of gratitude and inspired me to seek to draw closer to our Savior thru-more loving ministering and more sincere gratitude. Thank you! Thank you!
Jenae, it might have taken your Heavenly Father a couple of years to answer the fast and prayer, He knew he always had a plan for you to finally meet your dad, your stepmother and your new family. Heavenly Father knew that your dad would always LOVE you and help you through that really difficult time. Now look how amazing you are, you have an amazing testimony, and an Education that has helped soooo many people. Please keep up the amazing work and thank you soooo much for sharing your difficult childhood...with Love from another who also had a very challenging life.♥️😇
The critical importance of consistently keeping a journal has never been more evident for me now than ever before... The word "Remember" flows right off the pages of The Book of Mormon and into my heart to record how merciful the Lord has been to my Father's, and how over time as I look back and read of those deeply personal times the Lord has been so unfailingly forgiving, kind and merciful to me... Thank you Jenae, Hank and John for sharing your time with me and so many others, whom I suppose have been so richly blessed as I have been.
I love this truth, For this is life eternal to know Thee the only true God and Jesus Christ whom Thou has sent. Also - how knowth the man he master who he has not served. What part do our experiences play in our relationship with The Lord? I love how studying Come Follow Me, The Scriptures, and the wonderful podcasts have helped me along with the other things the Church has taught over the years. Iwas blessed to have been born in the Church and it has taken me a a long time to get were I am in my progress - I'm not bragging 🙏. My environment etc has left me with questions. And I discovered that praying alot was the best way to deal with this life. I have been enjoyed inspiration and protection and feelings of peace and loveing kindness. I believe I was given the environment I have experienced so that I could come to know our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ whom He has sent. I love The Lord and I love His Gospel in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
Thank you for this! I'm in the YW org and preparing to adopt kids. This is a great reminder that we need to teach them correct principles and let them choose to have the Lord as their governor. Also, I need to make a conscious effort to share my spiritual experiences (as do other leaders) so that they can know it happens to people the know - and can happen for them too. Thats in addition to giving them the space/opportunity to have such experiences.
John you mention gratitude, this time of year as we approach Thanksgiving I'm reminded of something that occurred about 20 yrs ago or so. Our stake conference until the last couple of years has always been the week before Thanksgiving. One year the visiting general authority was Elder Featherstone, the councilor in the stake presidency got up, welcomed everybody, announced the opening song and opening prayer, after the prayer he got up to announce the rest of the meeting, just as he was finishing Elder Featherstone got up and came to the pulpit and said "I'm going to request that we make a little change to the program, we are going to sing some Thanksgiving songs, Thanksgiving seems like it's almost a forgotten holiday and yet it should be one of our most important", gratitude is so important. I've not forgotten that.
Wow, I've been listening to your wonderful channel for over a year and I love you guys!! I'm uplifted and strengthened every time. I have to say this is my favorite with Dr. Nelson. Powerful messages of love and being someone's angel. Thank you.
I'm 73. I joined The Church when I was 23. It's been a bumpy ride. It still is. I testify to you I have never been alone. Our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ are very real and love you more than I have the ability to express. Turn to them and keep moving.
Hello Hank and John. Love your podcast. I went back to your D&C section 76 podcast because I didn't know about your show back then and it was better than I could have hoped. THANK YOU!
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask dad (God) We gain strength through other's testimonies. 💖 I have hope in the acceleration of 'return' before Christ's coming with the acceleration of return before His 2nd coming. 🙏🏼 💞
There's a great book by an LDS author that shows that there is perfect harmony between the prophetic statements concerning the garden of Eden being in Missouri and the Old Testament account concerning the garden of Eden. It's called Canaan, Babylon, and Egypt A Comparative Theological Analysis on Creation sold by Benchmark Books.
I discovered Follow Him a few months ago. I just love the insights given. The special guests give insight from their knowledge and understanding from their lived experiences and what they've learnt. Keep up the great work. I listen from Adelaide, South Australia. I share what I learn with our missionaries when they come to share a meal and a message in our home. Unfortunately they don't have access to RUclips. Is there some way these videos can be uploaded to Facebook or as a podcast so the missionaries can access them? Have a wonderful day, and thank you for all you do in enhancing my come follow me study each week. I listen via spotify as I drive to and from work, then as a family we watch the videos on RUclips as a family. ❤

Love the podcast-listen every week! Could I request that you put “Dr.” in front of her name in the title, both on RUclips and Spotify? Women are much less likely to be addressed by their title, and almost all of the other guests have their title in the name. Just want to show Dr. Nelson the same respect ❤️
One day I was praying to know how I could save my kids and the thought came into my mind “You are not going to save them I am; you are just going to help. “ That was such a relief. A great burden lifted off my heart. I felt so much hope for not only them but me too.

Thank you Jenae for being vulnerable and for your objectivity. ♥
Love Dr. Jenae Nelson's experience with her son. What do we truly want for our children? I often think the same. Thank you for sharing
Jenae, thank you for sharing such tender memories that we can all learn from. You’re a beautiful person and give us such HOPE!

This is so powerful!! It reminds me of some family research presented by Jenet Erickson. I heard it on another podcast last week.
So wonderful, and so powerful!! Thank you so much! Thank you, thank you!!!! ❤🇨🇦

This is one of those episodes that a warning should be given to those who listen during their commute. "High probability of blurry vision".
Fantastic episode!❤
Thank you!
This was great! Thank you so much as always.
a powerful testimony of hope... thank you for giving me hope for my loved ones...
You're amazing Janae!
If God is counting on me to bring his plan to pass, I'm sure he's shaking his head.. I hope he's got this covered
All he asks is that you put forth your best effort.
I feel the same. I know I can't do this on my own.
Isn’t it wonderful that all He asks is for us to do what we can in our sphere of influence.
I'm 73. I joined The Church when I was 23. It's been a bumpy ride. It still is.

More importantly, He’s got you covered!

Why do I love her so much
Because she's AMAZING!
President Nelson said it in two words, Think celestial.😊
Loved these
So good.
This is unsettling and mirrors our current time. Hold on to your covenant with Christ and center your life around the temple...

Filipino listening here at mid Wales. Made me laugh 😂😂 when you say patay, a Filipino term for dead/death.

Are the missionaries able to listen to podcasts thru Apple? That’s how I listen, but I look up the episode on RUclips if I want to leave a comment.
