Berzerius As a bridge engineer, I approve of this message. And even that cable on the side (for lateral stability) can probably hold about 5 million pounds of force, just spitballing...
I'm afraid of heights too, Ryosuke! I took American friends up into the Skytower in New Zealand (where I live) and the elevator had glass floor, I nearly fainted watching the ground zoom away - then the floor at the observation level also has glass panels and I...was so scared I ended up crawling because my legs wouldn't work. Embarrassing! You are brave!
damn good opportunity missed for ryosuke to be like "you would be the prettiest bridge troll ever!" XDD love you guys and the travelling vids are so inspiring!
Oh my gosh YES!! A bridge video! I'm a bridge engineer so this just made my day :-D I even took pictures of bridges during my honeymoon haha XD Thanks for making me so happy and giving me another place to visit in Japan!
i think ryosuke is the comic relief character in your vlogs and it works perfectly xD; hes so funny sometimes even when hes just being in the background acting silly! keep up the awesome vids :)
+Texan in Tokyo I know this might be embarrassing to say but I've been binge watching all your videos from when you first started til now :P I'm quite hooked I'm also going to Japan next year from all the jvlogs I've seen, I hope to meet u guys maybe if u wanna hang with me :)
I'm with you on this one, Ryosuke. Heights are the worst. I recently did a 3 day hike through the Kauai Na'Pali coast mountains. I was on-edge the whole time. (Sorry for the pun lol)
That looks like a really cool place to visit! Unlike Japan, there is an American saying "Remember when you cross the bridge, that it was built by the lowest bidder."
Good gosh. I am deadly afraid of heights. That last seen almost made me fall of my chair. I will ensure that I stay far away from this bridge! Lol. I'm sure somebody will shove me onto it if they wanted me to get out of the way. Haha. Happy fun!
*realizes on the 3rd second into the video that there's not intro-them song so*... *clear throat* "IT'S THE TEXAN IN TOKYO SHOW. BING!" *bows and walks off the stage*
Silly Ryosuke! :D Thank you for this great video. (I have problems walking over grates in parking lots where water drains; I don't think I could look through the grate on the suspension bridge!)
Why are there so many coins on that steel grider? (2:05min) Do People consider it good luck tossing coins down there or is it all just accidentally lost coins? Thanks for pointing out the umbrella thing! It's so romantic and in a surprisingly non-cheesy way :) I love it! Oh, and all my respects to Ryosuke for playing it cool so masterly. Go, Captain America! :D
"Yeah, I have sexy legs. I do." XD So funny. That bridge is neat, looks like it was fun to cross it. I'm just wondering why it was built. Was it just for tourist purposes?
wah, scary suspension bridge! but yes always the view is worth it. and yes the nature around is stunning! can u Make your vids longer. I love listening to your ramblings..
Oh, I didn't know that suspension bridge even though I've lived in Japan for a long time. By the way, the longest suspension bridge is "Ryujinkyo" in Ibaraki, Japan. Anyway, I like that bridge.
Takehiko Mori Nice! This reminds me, I'd like to make some videos of cool bridges (and other structures) around Japan. As an engineer, I hope to shed light on Japan's engineering/technological wonders and make them interesting for everyone :-)
That place looks amazing! How do you get there? Do you need to have someone that drive or can you get there by public transportation? I am moving to Tokyo In January, would love to visit this place during the summer!
Cool bridge. My wife wants to travel around the world, and walk on all the suspension bridges made for people on foot. I don't think it's going happen.
Wow that looks beautiful and awesome. We would love to see that one day. Did you guys put a charm on the Lovers Sanctuary thing? Thanks for this video.
Actually, if you were high enough to die over the ground, you're high enough to die over water. Water has a similar surface tension to concrete, so it'd be like landing on concrete. Difference is over water you have to swim your newly crippled body to shore, where over ground someone might find you and help you. #themoreyouknow
teacup4561 water is actually a little softer then ground even hitting it a terminal velocity. But yes drowning is a real possibility if you survive. A lot of how the impact effects you though depends on how you hit the ground or water surface.
I guess I couldn't walk in the part that can see down bellow, it's to scary. :O (but also pretty). By the way, you're using so nice outfit, looks so comfortable and beautiful! :)
I feel your pain Ryosuke. "Look down" is the hardest thing to do when you're scared of heights 😭😭. Also, just wondering what those coins are doing in 2:07. Is it a wishing well of some sort?
I'm just going to be honest...I would not be able to walk across that bridge because heights freak me out so bad! I would literally have to crawl inch by inch with my eyes closed and pretending that everything's an illusion lol... Great video though! :D
What part of Tochigi ken is this bridge. Anywhere near Ashio? My mother is from Ashio in Tochigi ken. She is descended from the Heike of 12th century Japan who settled here after losing power to the Genji. Your husband should know all about it just in case you don't. I think you two make the cutest couple, you're gonna have extra adorable kids someday.
Grace can you make a video about how u r feeling? People who know care about how u r doing? How is your strep doing? Please make a video, thank you and God bless you :-)
They removed the "一" i think it would've been nice/funny if they had transformed it into a "二" . Did i miss something, or won't it simply work that way?
What are Japanese universities from like and do you know anyone who brought a cat or dog to Japan from a place that has rabies? If so what was the process like?
ugh no thank you! I've walked on a suspension bridge before here where I live and it makes me sick to my stomach, The very middle is the worse and I almost lost my lunch into the river >.< no thanks haha
Classified. The same holds true for how you hit when falling on land but it doesn't change the physics of terminal velocity or the surface tension of water. The impact is the same once terminal velocity is reached.
if you fall in the water from that hight you will probable die :D water has the same molecule structure as concreed meaning if you fall in the water with a high enough speed the water will work as a solid sirfice :D
rscakevreter ehhhhhhhhhh. Its not because it has the same molecular structure as concrete. Its because its viscosity is too high, which is why the water bunchs up together into a semi-crystal when enough force is applied in one moment. Thats why you can easily dip your hand in water, but it hurts to slap water really hard.
Actually it's more related to surface tension of the water, rather than viscosity. That, and the relative mass of the two bodies on contact (one human vs. a river) is quite disproportionate.
but...but...why does it cost money to cross a bridge...? what if you need to go somewhere on the other side and you don't have 300 yen handy...? The bridge between Canada and the states doesn't even cost a penny...so why?
I love Grace's outfit in this video! Its rlly simple and cute!
Mako Makouii absolutely!
That bridge looks like an incredibly lovely place to go for a walk :D
The cable on the side is just for stabilization. The cables above the bridge are the ones that actually support the bridge.
Berzerius As a bridge engineer, I approve of this message.
And even that cable on the side (for lateral stability) can probably hold about 5 million pounds of force, just spitballing...
A troll under the bridge... Sounds like an excellent business model :D
ThatJapaneseManYuta I know, right??
I'm afraid of heights too, Ryosuke! I know how you felt. Observation lounge with glass floor? It's a living hell!
朗らかでとてもハッピーな気分になれます。コード以外の音を巧みに使っています点でございましてはこの曲の音楽性を豊かにしています。本当に癒されとても気に入っています。作曲者には感謝の意を深く表しいたします。
I'm with Ryosuke! I could not look down through that grid without having a panic attack!
Japan's bridge engineering tech always amazes me.
great vid! Thanks for posting it!
You two make the cutest couple.it always brings a smile to my face when I see you post a new video.
damn good opportunity missed for ryosuke to be like "you would be the prettiest bridge troll ever!" XDD love you guys and the travelling vids are so inspiring!
Oh my gosh YES!! A bridge video! I'm a bridge engineer so this just made my day :-D I even took pictures of bridges during my honeymoon haha XD
Thanks for making me so happy and giving me another place to visit in Japan!
I love your adventures :) I can't say it enough but you two are so cute!
Strawberry Mochi Awww thank you!! We just love seeing / doing new things! I also love being cute :D haha(Ryosuke)
I love how at each section of the bridge Grace is calculating how likely they would die.
i think ryosuke is the comic relief character in your vlogs and it works perfectly xD; hes so funny sometimes even when hes just being in the background acting silly! keep up the awesome vids :)
video watching Thanks!! I am happy to hear that :D I love making people laugh~ (Ryosuke)
+Texan in Tokyo I know this might be embarrassing to say but I've been binge watching all your videos from when you first started til now :P I'm quite hooked I'm also going to Japan next year from all the jvlogs I've seen, I hope to meet u guys maybe if u wanna hang with me :)

Out of all the places I've seen you visit so far I think this is easily the best looking one.
That looks like a really cool place to visit!
Unlike Japan, there is an American saying "Remember when you cross the bridge, that it was built by the lowest bidder."
Scott Anderson Hahaha. Oh man....
Thanks for your efforts
Wow! It's so pretty!! I think I could spend a long time there looking around. Thanks for posting this. :)
just a little fyi, the cables you pointed out, keep the bridge from swaying side to side. That was a nice view you showed.
Good gosh. I am deadly afraid of heights. That last seen almost made me fall of my chair. I will ensure that I stay far away from this bridge! Lol. I'm sure somebody will shove me onto it if they wanted me to get out of the way. Haha. Happy fun!
Am I the only that is missing the intro? Love the bing at the end!
awesome video as usual! keep up the great work and looking forward to more of your videos!
Janoel Tabug Thanks for giving us more power :) (Ryosuke)
omg I saw you on tokyo eye 2020 today on nhk! keep up the good work!
SynsPlayground Yay! That was a fun episode~!
*realizes on the 3rd second into the video that there's not intro-them song so*...
*clear throat*
"IT'S THE TEXAN IN TOKYO SHOW. BING!"
*bows and walks off the stage*
Cool bridge I can just imagine the fresh air of the country side :)
I would be freaking out!! I'm so terrified of heights haha, but the view is amazing. Thank you for sharing! (: I hope to revisit Japan someday soon.
Every time the camera panned down my heart jumped into my throat.
Love your outfit Grace.... Your looking too Ryosuke!
Grace that braided cable is so strong it looks strong enough to last a lifetime
Silly Ryosuke! :D Thank you for this great video.
(I have problems walking over grates in parking lots where water drains; I don't think I could look through the grate on the suspension bridge!)
Grace looks so lovely in this video! I love the laidback feminine style :)
beautiful place..
the view is amazing!
"What is he doing?"
"What is he ever doing?"
depends on how high up you are if you are to high then hitting the water would be like hitting concrete
Excellent feat of engineering! Do you know when it was built?
when you said that the air smelled really good, it made me realize that my nose was clogged up and i couldn't smell. lol
Why are there so many coins on that steel grider? (2:05min) Do People consider it good luck tossing coins down there or is it all just accidentally lost coins?

Texan in Tokyo We have a place like this in Washington State.
BTW i love yer videos!
Can we please see more of Wild Ryosuke? I request that. lol
2:05 So many coins just need a long stick and some bubble gum.
Why is there coins under the bridge at 2:05?
can you guys do a video on citizenship and perm residence in Japan working there etc.?
make a video about what to expect as an exhange student over new years please!
Shout out from Austin Tx
James Ross Yaaay! Go TEXAS!
Captain America is secretly scared of heights now that's cool to know. 💪👀👍
$3 to walk across a bridge?!
Look at all those coins people leave inside it. :3
2:03
You would die if you fell on the water from that height as well ^-^ Also I'm loving your outfit Grace!
Actually, if you were high enough to die over the ground, you're high enough to die over water. Water has a similar surface tension to concrete, so it'd be like landing on concrete. could you tell me What camera do you guys use? If you don't mind me asking that is please xx
I would be so afraid on that bridge!
So scary! So narrow and you can see under ! What if there is an earthquake lol
Cutejapanvids RIGHT?
I think it'd just wobble. Unless there's a fault directly under the bridge, I'm pretty sure it's meant to withstand some magnitude of earthquake.
I guess I couldn't walk in the part that can see down bellow, it's to scary. :O (but also pretty).
By the way, you're using so nice outfit, looks so comfortable and beautiful! :)

What's with the money below the bridge?
awesome
You two are a very cute couple :)
What part of Tochigi ken is this bridge. Anywhere near Ashio? My mother is from Ashio in Tochigi ken. She is descended from the Heike of 12th century Japan who settled here after losing power to the Genji. Your husband should know all about it just in case you don't.

Grace can you make a video about how u r feeling? People who know care about how u r doing? How is your strep doing? Please make a video, thank you and God bless you :-)
My first thought was "why no long suspension bridges in Japan?" Then, it hit me, earthquakes?
That man in white shirt at 0.59 was "Japanese father" ?
Grace I love your skirt in this video. I would love if you would do lookbook ;)
***** I did lookbook ALL through college and it was really fun... but it just got to be too much work!
I meant a lookbook video, not the website :P hehe sorry! but yes, it is fun. and work. I understand!
They removed the "一" i think it would've been nice/funny if they had transformed it into a "二" . Did i miss something, or won't it simply work that way?
MattiCrom I thought about adding one more line to make "二", but it would look just not so right... (Ryosuke)
Yay you didn't die!!!!
Have you ever been to the longest suspension bridge in Japan?
First yes!!!!!! Hi grace and ryosuke!
woah, sketchy, the grate is only held up by an inch and a half of wood on both sides. nevermind, i saw the steel beams under it
Now you need to do a day trip to Akashi Kaikyō Bridge ;) These videos are really cool. So not Tokyo.
I get scared on the second floor balcony at my apartment complex. I'd never cross that! XD
***** I feel you... I went to the bathroom before I crossed the bridge, you know, just in case... (Ryosuke)
I couldn't do it!...deathly afraid of heights!
It looks really amazing, but I don't think I would be able to cross it, because I have a fear of bridges.
Raven B Do you fear Jeff Bridges?
What are Japanese universities from like and do you know anyone who brought a cat or dog to Japan from a place that has rabies? If so what was the process like?
ugh no thank you! I've walked on a suspension bridge before here where I live and it makes me sick to my stomach, The very middle is the worse and I almost lost my lunch into the river >.< no thanks haha
怖い橋ですね!そんな、わざわざ下が透けて見える様にしなくても(;_;)
if u fall far enough hitting the water is worse then the ground
Grace the girl from the new terminator movie looks
like you
After about 150 feet it doesn't matter if you fall and hit water or land, the impact is the same.
Maxid1 That's not true. It depends on HOW you fall in the water.
Classified. The same holds true for how you hit when falling on land but it doesn't change the physics of terminal velocity or the surface tension of water. The impact is the same once terminal velocity is reached.
+SlagPollo My friend has jumped off a 50m tall cliff into a face of water and he was totally fine.
***** I don't remember, but there wasn't anything visibly wrong with him.
if you fall in the water from that hight you will probable die :D water has the same molecule structure as concreed meaning if you fall in the water with a high enough speed the water will work as a solid sirfice :D
rscakevreter Woah :o
rscakevreter ehhhhhhhhhh. Its not because it has the same molecular structure as concrete. Thats why you can easily dip your hand in water, but it hurts to slap water really hard.
+suraj bhat it also depends on your surface area when you land, if you landed in a dive, you wouldn't die
Leo Wright right on
Actually it's more related to surface tension of the water, rather than viscosity. That, and the relative mass of the two bodies on contact (one human vs. a river) is quite disproportionate.
actually falling to water from a great distance would still kill you as if it were concrete.
JD vandenB I am glad we didn't fall then~ (Ryosuke)
If you can walk on those see-through panels, you're not acrophobic. I couldn't!
but...but...why does it cost money to cross a bridge...? what if you need to go somewhere on the other side and you don't have 300 yen handy...? The bridge between Canada and the states doesn't even cost a penny...so why?
10/10 would ride my bicycle over it , even if the regions professor told me not to.
Second!!
IRON MAN can fly 😏😏😋😋
Have you ever been to the longest suspension bridge in Japan?
