    18:25 I think no matter what order you take the decisions in, you can't remove the final debuff until you take the capstone focus of the military branch. However, Turkey's tree is full of such weird corner cases (like Zombie Ataturk which you took advantage of) that it wouldn't surprise me if you found a way to cheese it in a test game.
    Also the Clodius Agreement only gives free factories and infrastructure at the time that you complete the focus, so building up chromium afterwards doesn't do anything.

    I learnt this game from you, and am grateful for all the hours you saved from my life through teaching me so much.
    With that said, as a Turk who loves HOI4, I did see some things that could’ve been better. To not disrespect, of course. I have played this nation and path more than any other nation so have some observations.
    Firstly, waiting to retire Atatürk is a good move, however you did not see I suppose that you can justify under him through the spanish civil war focus. You can justify when japan attacks china.
    At that point, a critical mistake I saw was that you did not attack bulgaria first. Sometimes they join the axis early and this can ruin a run. So I’d reccommend them to be the first target. Additionally, this cost you romania as I will explain in a moment.
    When attacking bulgaria, right before capitulating them, you need to justify on yugoslavia and declare before annexing bulgaria. You can improve relations with the allies for ease of heart.
    The most significant thing I thing you missed to exploit was that you were guaranteed by britain. At least, could have been through the left path. This means you can do whatever you want as long as you keep france happy.
    Therefore, you can quickly continue your focus tree with cancelling romanian guarantee and after killing yugoslavia you can justify on hungary and greece. If you want, you can wait for luxembourg to fall before justifying. This way, you declare a safe war and also take romania since they come to defend greece.
    After taking down all of them, you have precious land with industry rather than having the middle east first. Since you will almost core all of these lands, what you take first matters. Also romania helps your industry.
    Also, a big mistake was to keep everyone on local police force. For kurdistan it is okay, but for everywhere else it is a loss of equipment, manpower and lengthens the coring process. You should keep them on civilian.
    After taking romania, you can attack iraq and iran. They should join the chinese. If not, attack aghanistan. If still not, sinkiang. When at war with the chinese, you can finally join the axis and take the pan-turkic doyen who carries the game forward.
    I really liked how you handled the japanese and definitely have to learn from you on that front. Though I don’t think you needed to give all of china to a puppet. It takes time to core provinces but when it does it is great, dealing with a puppet takes effort so I wouldn’t have done it but guess it is preference.
    One thing to add is that the russians or the soviets have more importance than japan, so they should be the primary target. Attacking the japanese after the soviets or even the axis falls would have been more logical in my opinion. Soviet land is quite valuable and coring it as fast as possible is good.
    All in all, you did form turan so props to you there. As I said, I learned this game from you and only really know this nation in depth since I spent so many hours on it.
    Thanks for making these videos, have a nice day.

      @Aeradom2000 2 года назад

      I think I'm a bit confused. If you go to Reconfigure Turkish Foriegn Policy, that cancels out the Romanian Guarantee. And to get to the British guarantee you have to go through that. So what results is that while yes you don't have to worry about the British, you instead have to fight Yugoslavia and Romania at the same time. Unless I'm missing something.

    • @TheVirtuosoe
      @TheVirtuosoe 2 года назад

      @@Aeradom2000 First of all, thanks for reading. This was a hurdle that had to be passed whilst I was planning how to take all of the balkans single handedly, excluding albania.
      There is a solution however. If you read carefully, you justify on yugoslavia before capitulating bulgaria. There is a reason for this. In order to not rise world tension more than necessary.
      The french will not guarantee yugoslavia in historical since they repeal it with a focus even if you create a lot of world tension. The brits will though. So, what you do is, you do not capitulate bulgaria and you improve relations with the british. When relations are 60+, start justifying on yugoslavia. Keep relations at 60+, you can improve with french for ease of mind.
      We haven’t done the focus to remove bulgarian guarantee yet, because we do not need it. The brits will not guarantee yugoslavia in time. When the justification fulfills, immediately declare and capitulate bulgaria afterwards. After declaring, you can start reconfiguring policies focus.
      Romania and yugoslavia at the same time is quite a difficult war that is ultimately unnecessary. Taking yugoslavia with the hidden army in Italy and taking facscist hungary afterwards is a fail proof way to ensure all countries are taken.
      You should guarantee on Greece when germans are at war with poland and the benelux. You should keep french relations above 60, and take the british guarantee through your focuses.
      Putting 40 pure infantry 20 witdh divisions on the romanian frontline, even with low equipment usually gives you enough time to take greece with your actual army. Afterwards you can attack romania.
      One key thing about romania is that you should never take the 3 besserabia pieces of land. Fighting the soviets earlier will almost always result in defeat.
      One sad part about the focus for turan is that you cannot join the axis until you have done all yoır expansion or until you are at war with a major faction. If you join before, you enemies will join the allies which is something you must avoid at all costs.
      Not being able to join the axis earlier means you cannot start coring your land until later into the game. This means missing out on a lot of factories. Therefore, what you can do is, take iraq and iran alongside greece and romania at either the same or at a very close time. This could backfire with greece and romania joining the chinese though.
      Hence, what I reccommend is that you should start justifying on iraq when greece capitulates and on iran when you declare war on iraq.
      To sum up, if you wait on bulgaria you can avoid a british guarantee on yugoslavia and therefore avoid a two front war you probably cannot win. Afterwards, you can extend your front line with romania through taking hungary and group them with greece which is considerably weaker than yugoslavia.
      If you have any other questions, I’d be happy to help. I went though about 72 ironman games getting this plan down on a mac laptop that is dreadfully slow at the late game :) I would love to share what I learnt.

      @@TheVirtuosoe Wow! I super appreciate that detailed response you gave to break this down even further as I'm really trying to warm to up to Turkey without having to cheese or exploit toooooo much. That being said, it's a bit complex so let me break this down and see if I've got it.
      Step 0.5: Let the Kurds revolt. I'd be curious your insights of how you deal with it but honestly after multiple attempts to get a strategy down, I'd just rather keep the guns for troops and crush them when they revolt.

      Step 0.75: Improve British and French relations to 60+.
      Step 1: Justify and Declare war on Bulgaria.

      Step 2: While at war with Bulgaria and before capitulating them, justify on Yugoslavia.
      Step 3: Declare war on Yugoslavia and then capitulate Bulgaria and march onto Yugoslavia. (Sidenote: hidden army in Italy?). Presumable during this is when I'd justify on Hungary.
      Step 3.5: Begin with focus to get to British Guarantee.
      Step 4: Declare on Hungary soon after ending Yugoslavia. While doing this is when I'd justify on Greece.
      Step 5: Put a defensive line on the Romanian border of 40 divisions and declare war on Greece.
      Step 6: While the offensive gets underway against Romania, justify on Iraq.
      Step 7: Finish Romania, declare on Iraq. While at war with Iraq, justify on Iran and declare on Iran just after finishing the Iraq war.
      Step 8: Profit?
      Oh, and one more thing. In all of your testing, did you ever try building heavy tanks with Turkey? I wouldn't need it for the Balkan offensive but it be nice to have something to micro when the real fun begins. Plus I've played that last games with just infantry so looking to mix it up if possible. And again, really appreciate your response.

    • @Aeradom2000
      @Aeradom2000 2 года назад

      Update: Okay so after testing, maybe letting the Kurds go to civil war isn't the best idea. Each time so far I've tested I get a negative event that tanks my political capabital and my stability hits barebones. Back to the old drawing board I suppose.

    • @TheVirtuosoe
      @TheVirtuosoe 2 года назад

      @@Aeradom2000 I think you are pretty much correct in your approach, and that you have understood the steps. There are some specifics that need to be expanded, and I can elaborate further on them now.
      Firstly, improving relations is not necessary for the bulgarian war since you declare it pre 25% world tension. It would be unnecessary. Additionally, something I left out to not delve too much into detail was that support artillery will help tremendously with bulgaria. I’d reccommend building 4 civs in Izmir and then 5 factories on guns while 2 on artillery.
      To come to the hidden army in Italy. As you know, you become facscist through the fatherland focus. After taking this focus and also granting chromium in exchange for rhodes, you should request military access. They will grant it to you.
      You should easily be able to take bulgaria with 31 divisions, all you have at game start. Yugoslavia however requires more. What I’d recommend is to make a second template without the support artillery and have 24 divisions with artillery while 15-20 do not. Let’d call the 24 with artillery the first army and the 15-20 that do not have the second army.
      You should only hold the first army near bulgaria ready to capitulate it. The second army should exist in two positions, one garrisoning italy though thr military access they gave us and another preparing for a naval invasion of the yugoslavian lands bordering italy, I guess it is Istria. Improving relations and justifying on yugoslavia, taking your navy manually to thr middlr of all naval zones and managing supremacy will enable you to crush them with the first army while the second army creates havoc.
      You can justify on hungary as soon as they renounce trianon. If the yugoslavian war lengthens, you will probably have a doomed run. Presuming everything went well, I’d recommend adding engineers to your elite template and switching the second army to it.
      You have understood the process of romania-greece correctly so no problem. As soon as germany attacks the benelux, you can freely justify. As I said before, justifying on Iraq at the same time will save coring time but you should probably not take the risk of them making the romanians join the chinese. The iraqis probably will.
      Tanks for turkey, especially heavy tanks seems like a good idea and I can admit that it is pretty fun to micro tanks even though I haven’t used them much in the latest dlc. As long as you don’t disregard your army’s needs, I’m sure tanks would help and also make the gamr more fun.
      Now, the kurds or garrisoning in general. No, you do not want the kurds to revolt, as you have had the misfortune of experiencing :D There is an easy way to stop it from happening though, proper garrisoning. Yes, you will lose some guns but you unlock an occupation law named reconciliation pretty early on which entails you to not have to worry about it at all. As for other occupied land, you should keeo them on civilian at all times and make sure they have enough guns. The default division for garrisons is the armor division for some reason, make sure to change that.
      When taking or coring land, make sure to annex as much as possible. Avoid puppets as you can core land yourself. Do not say yes to collaboration governments as they can interfere with setting up Turan. Also, I think they look bad anyhow.
      Final note, if iraq or iran do not join the chinese, you should justify on afghanistan and if still not on sinkiang. You want to be at war with the chinese faction so that you can still expand but also join the axis. After joining the axis you can take your good advisors, finally. This means you will have to kill china, as the japanese are pretty incompotent but it is easy enough when you fight in japanese occupied land through military access. Make sure to get some participation and annex some land, even a little bit of populous chinese regions is massive manpower.
      Other things I could say, you probably have seen that the economic law for Turkey is a bit weird and you cannot really use yoır resources at all. Firstly, you do not need to move from civilian economy until you are at war with the chinese. When you turn to war economy at that time, you should take the decision to abolish etatism to avoid bankcrupting. As for resources, you will not be able to use almost any at the beginning but when in the late game, you can go to closed economy as the free trade bonuses don’t matter anyway. If you have expanded as desired, the TPDA wouldn’t affect you. On the flipside, trying to pay your debts results in tremendous production loss that cannot be compensated with freeing resources later on.
      I find Turkey to be one of the most fun nations in this game and I hope you do too. If anything else comes up, feel free to notify me.
