I was an engineer on chemical tankers 40 years ago. Considering it is somewhat smaller than the ships I worked on, the engine room is well spaced out 👍 Much has not changed, but I saw ‘new’ equipment created by legislation eg. Ballast Water Treatment, unheard of in my day. Inert Gas Generation, we carried N2 in bottles to top off tanks. I would concur with the comment of a clean engine room, looks new! Good video congrats

Thank you for your kind words ! 40 years? You must be missing them Chemical tankers. On this ship ,there were N2 bottles too in midship store along with the generator. Engine room was quite clean around the time video was shot.

@@omyandsea Life experiences, maybe Rose Tinted Spectacles on my behalf. I do recall working 12-15 hour days much of the time keeping the job going with ships built in the early 70’s.

Nice video. My only requests would have been a little more expansion on the descriptions like full wording instead of just initials, and it would have been nice to see outside just to get the scale of the ship we saw the workings of.

Yes sure! I will make another video about engine room and will add vocal descriptions! Thank you for your comment

Great video, good house keeping. As these 5 unit MAN B&W generators gets little older they will be really pain in the neck. Most of these will be suffering from turbo failures at frequent intervals.

Too many abbreviations. Please re-do the subtitles with the names of the equipment spelled out in full.
