My wife is selling a single family rental in CO and we currently live in one half of a duplex rental we own in FL. Can I 1031 tax deferred exchange to a single family in FL and can I move into the new house without having to pay an additional annual income tax on it if it's all under the same business? Does it matter which 2 out of 3 units are rented or am I paying income tax on all 3 being rented?
I recently purchased a Tax Sales Overages business but I don't have it set up in an LLC/LP/SP...yet. Is this something your office deals with and can I claim the cost of the purchase on my taxes?
