Dear redeemer1kamili This is just R Commander 1.0 which until a week ago was the latest version and about 10 years old. Rcmdr 2.0 does look a bit different but not that much. This video is a bit old these days but basically current - library(Rcmdr) will start it off. Peter
Hi Peter, I'm having trouble installing Rcmdr onto my computer, I have R, but after I install the rcmdr package and try to load it I get errors for rcpp and car, when I try to fix those it says they're not available or something along those lines. Do know of any resources I could get in touch with to fix this? I really need it for a class. Thanks for your time, Ann
Hi Ann. The R community is fantastically helpful so you could try one of the mailing lists. The other thing that you will need when asking for advice on these lists (or anywhere else) is to give more details like Operating System, new/old install of R, versions etc etc. For instance, are you using Windows 7, 10, MacOSX (which one) and which version of R etc etc? You may need to install the dependencies in R etc (eg in MacOSX you need to click the box to install dependencies/ It could be that you need to update packages before installing rcmdr. This is a pretty old video as is the "R Commander Installation" youtube which was done at the time of Windows Vista so things may be slightly different on your system. Cheers Peter
How were you able to copy and paste a whole column of numbers into R cndr? When I try to copy and paste from my excel file, it will only take the first cell. Thanks.
Hi Carol. The data editor via R Commander is not very good. It's best to read in directly from the menus Data => Import Data and then choose the excel file or text file if you have it saves as a .csv file. Regards Peter
Thank you Peter. I'm new to R and slowly learning it's quirks. I was finally able to uploaad all of my data. I want to create a 3d scatterplot because excel doesn't have that feature. Do you have any experience with the graphs menu? I checked the appropriate boxes for that option and hit ok, but no graph is produced. Thank you again for your help. Carol
I'm a lost first year graduate student and this really helped me. Thanks so much and you have a cool accent
