I always thought that, even on the recorded version, the singing was a little naked, and the whole song never really comes together, as if some vocal tracks were missing. The melody just isn't strong enough against all that swinging but thin instrumentation. Some additions singers and parts could really fill this in. Good idea. It also seems way too slow. Never thought of that. But at least Simon is in tune.
