Look I'm no psychologist, but when someone has a weird obsession/love over such mundane objects I can only think that during an incredibly bad period of their lives when they might have been abused, maybe even beaten, those were probably the objects that they were around whenever they had the chance to collect their thoughts and find peace. In the case of the fat lady she probably had a good moment whenever she could go to the fair and associated the roller coaster to that moment. The other lady would probably escape from reality by going to the backyard when she was little and the fence was the one thing she would find herself looking at in a moment of peace. Of course it's hard to tell, but it's the only thing that makes sense to me.

I saw the documentary that this is from.
Apparently the woman who is into fences had quite a rough life in terms of abuse. If I remember correctly she went through a few foster families that were abusive and it caused her to find attraction to objects that can't hurt her.
The other woman has autism which was the main source of her attraction to objects. She found objects a lot easier to communicate with and create connections with.

The amusement park they went to is about a 2-hour drive away from my house. It’s super popular everywhere in my town+across the state. That used to be one of my favorite rides, but they took it down about 3 years ago. We don’t know why, but after watching this I think it might be because of this😂😂
