Not really. All these teams that have transferred recruit nationally. It has little to no impact on today's cfb. Sure this may have been true 10 or 20 years ago but recruiting had a massive shift around 2010. Where schools stopped going exclusive to their state/region and moved to targeting players everywhere. Then now we can legally pay players national recruitment will become even bigger. Conference means squat besides national rankings(well if you're in the big10 or sec since they are the most competitive and have the most national players).

I think its a good show of sportsmanship from Lando i think the best line from this was when Lando's race engineer said to do it becuase eventually you will need Oscar and Eventually you will need your team. I think from a Mclaren pitwall standpoint they are trying to avoid a situation similar to a past Red Bull situation with Sebastian Vettel and the Ausie funny enough Mark Webber who actually happens to be Oscar's Agent. However from a competition standpoint yes it sucks that Lando had to give up the extra points and not close the gap to Verstappen as much as he and the fans would have like. It sucks for the Championship especially considering that Lando looks like the only one at this point who can challenge Verstappen. Does Mclaren truly believe in their Car and specs to think that they can get Lando enough points to challenge Verstappen, this sends a message that they might. Maybe Mclaren truly believes they can win both Championships and that this wont impact the results. I also would like to pointout that this seems to prove something that Mclaren has that not alot of the other teams has A GOOD PAIR OF TEAMMATES.
