He cried when Lucifer took sam’s body and he cried when Gadreel lied and wanted to keep Sam for himself. Michael said to Sam that dean wouldn’t stop fighting him to get back to Sam, the other angel told that Sam and Dean were erotically codependent on each other. A siren dresses up as the person most wanted, deepest and darkness desires. That is their trick much like incubus and subcubust. They used the sexual allure of the target’s desire. So in order for the siren to have control over dean he would have dress like dean’s most wanted sexual desire which the siren told Sam it was him. So that is something pretty steamy the writers threw in there regarding incest between dean and Sam. I don’t know about Sam, but dean definitely loves Sam above everything even himself.i always noticed how Dean is willing to died himself than to hurt Sam..
Yeah, I think the writers ship it too. They don't call the show "the epic love story of Sam and Dean" for nothing. Also notice how Dean is always playful and flirty with Sam like he's with women. There are so much more hinting than that. I doubt one could make them into one video that is less than an hour.
not to mention them being canonically called soulmates when it's obvious that the show synonymizes soulmates with lovers. the episode where Ash explains to them how heaven works, mentions that in some special cases as soulmates people share one heaven (just like Sam & Dean do) and acts kinda awkward, embarrassed even, as if he talks about something too private. or the episode where Dean got cursed by love spell and said to Sam that the witch he fell for is his soulmate (Sam looked not just concerned in this scene btw, it was more than that, he looked offended) which was the exact straight statement from the creators that soulmates equals lovers. or do you remember Sam's conversation with Jodie? the one when she talked about her almost deadly date with Crowley, how imprudent she was because of her loneliness and desperate need to be loved. Sam was like: yeah, I fully understand, we all look for that. and then Jodie smiled, gave him her attentive motherly look and said: "except those who already have it. you and Dean - something special, don't you think?" and he got immediately confused, paniced for a second with the question in his eyes ("OMG IS IT SO OBVIOUS?") and couldn't even answer anything. it was practically unexpected coming-out-to-a-parent-figure moment and Jodie was all like: I see it, I get it, I accept it. and I'm sure that it's absolutely mutual btw, always was. the difference is just in the level of acceptance for both of them. Dean accepts this feelings truly from the beginning till the very end. you can see it in everything. he was never fully in love with a woman because his heart forever belongs to Sam. and his longest and closest relationship with Lisa was the most significant to proof that. she was a great sex and a smart understanding woman but she never was his love. the moment Sam appears to be alive for already a year Dean becomes so mad at him for that silence. soulless Sam and Bobby both are like: what's wrong with you? you've had a normal life, a wife and a kid, isn't it great? and Dean says that no, it's not, because he was doing it ONLY to keep a promise given to Sam. Sam is all he wants ever, it's obvious. Lisa saw it clearly, "the minute he walked through that door, I knew, it was over". she saw Sam as a rival, the one she lost to. and Dean was trying to set things right after leaving her for hunt with Sam only because he was feeling guilty (as he always does), he didn't want to hurt her and took care of her as a family (as he always does - 2). after Lisa, Dean didn't even try a slighest affair, only one night stands, and even those became a lot rarer than before. he and Sam literally live like a married couple, especially when in a bunker. and Dean doesnt't fool himself that he needs anything else. he accepts. on the other hand, Sam struggles with acceptance a lot, tries relationship with women over and over again (what's funny, in almost every his girl you can see Dean, some of his character traits, some of his behavior patterns, sometimes it's straight and clear "because she said what you would say"), desperately wants normal life, hates being a freak, runs away a lot. but omg, his uncontrollable jealousy gives him away every time. he can be mad at Dean, but Dean should be his. even more than that, Sam himself should be always the center of Dean's world. and when focus shifts for some new mate Sam gets pissed off and pointedly jealous. the first appearance of Gordon: Dean's fascinated, Sam sits silent with sullen face and hostile posture, snaps when Gordon calls him Sammy, "he is the only one who can call me that" - marking the territory (Dean looks away with a hidden smile like "jeez, I'm flattered ofk, but you're acting kinda dramatic, Sammy") - and finally demonstratively goes away. he is jealous to Cass until they become friends and after that too. he loses his mind when figures out about Benny. just recall that unbelievable look when he saw Benny for the first time and a fight when Dean got a phone call and left without explanation ("WHAT DOES IT MEAN 'PRIVATE'???"). he insists on killing Benny so stubbornly like it wasn't him who teach Dean to let "good" monsters go, he issues an ultimatum - break up with Benny for good if Dean wants Sammy back home. and bromance with Crowley? jesus christ. Sam closes his eyes with such huge pain when hears Crowley's brag that Dean and him are real besties and partners in crime now. "you don't care than he's a demon, you just can't stand the fact that he is mine". so true. and Amara. and a row of girls at first seasons. just an endless list. remember how he dumped Amelia for Dean? this parallel (Sam/Dean vs Amelia/her husband) was so pure. but if Amelia fell for Sam and choose him over her "resurrected" husband, she was still no more than another way to escape for Sam. the way to numb the unbearable pain of loss, the way to fool himself again, the pointless hopeless way to fill the enormous empty. Sam isn't the type who blocks the feelings with sex and booze like Dean does. but Sam is definetely the type who replaces the lack of Dean (and sometimes just Dean himself) with girls. isn't it obvious how he feels about him?
