Concrete resurfacing tip: if at some point you want a smoother result use a product called surebroom and be sure you use a magictrowel. You can pour it over the existing coat and even add lines with decorative tape so when they brake you get the illusion of tiles. Awesome job 🙌🏼
Floors look great for a workshop Sam!!! You're gonna fill a lot of the floor space with cabinets, work tables etc. The exposed vaulted ceiling was the right way to go. Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!!
They make a wicked looking concrete grinder metal pad to take off imperfection in concrete at most big box stores to fit a 4 1/2" grinder. Well worth purchasing for future shaping of concrete or concrete blocks etc.
Hello DIY Huntress. Glad to see you're doing well, energetic and enthusiastic - and you're making progress on the concrete floor of your garage. It's looking great so far!! 😍😍
can you share the shop size and outside look? I want to create the same kind of workshop for my photography work and some youtube videos. how much does it cost?
Shop is about 300 square feet! Exterior reveal will come with the big reveal! I’m not going to lie… I wanted to spend $10k on my shop, and having it rebuilt because of the mold cost me more than double that 😩 (which is why I’m trying to do what I can to save some money on the build). I almost wish I just started from scratch. Probably would have been cheaper.
Sorry to hear you were sick. Lots of work lots of progress. I can already tell the space is going to be quite the improvement compared to your smaller shed shop. As always looking forward to you're next vidio 😊
I have the same shop size, it was a derelict building on the property, I've had to completely rebuild two walls. I'm building faux beams to cover the arch braces and ones down the peak between them.
Very cool and I like your style! I have a family room concrete slab that needs work after removing 2 layers of tile. As a retired rn, I like how you explain things so well.
Have you considered putting in a garage floor coating, epoxy with colored chips? I did that in my basement and love it. Super affordable and super durable.
I thought about it, but the floor is actually not in good enough shape for an epoxy floor. I’d have to grind the entire floor down to get smooth enough to take the finish properly. And, I don’t have time for that. 😩
@@diyhuntress I think the floor is perfect for a workshop, especially the Van prints! Seriously, you wouldn’t want to so a smooth polished floor in a place that’s going to see a lot of messy activity.
@@diyhuntressinstead of grinding my floor it was covered with a leveling compound and when that cured the garage floor coating was installed. That was two years ago and it looks as good as the day it was installed. Your garage floor will look good just as it is.
Nice job...floor looks great! I am relived to see the space under the side door getting taken care of...kinda set off my rather limited sense of OCD. 🤣
Caulked joint tip: mask each side where you want the bead to die with painter's tape. Apply the caulk, skim with a finger, pull the tape & resume happy dance.
Yess! Love this tip! I actually wanted this to look a little organic and messy to blend into the concrete since it dried close to the same color. Resuming the happy dance was the most important part tho. 🙌
I hope you put a plastic barrier under that newly framed wall. You need to use pressure treated lumber for baseplate against concrete or its going rot 100%. I'm also pretty certain that floor coating is going to flake, I've never seen thin coatinga last in heavy use.
Sam, that looked EXHAUSTING! Wow you worked your tail off on that. We missed you last weekend. What's a Saturday without Sam! So how did you clean those Vans off of concrete crud because they looked brand new later on in the video LOL :)
Great job. Question, I noticed you got the new Sawstop CTS and still have the Jobsite. Are you going to do a comparison or review? Curious about your thoughts!
Use a dehumidifier, concrete gives off heat as it cures and this produces moisture, so once the concrete is cured and “dry” , dehumidify Heat and fresh air will be you best friends Eventually, look at doing an epoxy finish
@@diyhuntress , it will throw up dust unless you finish it somehow You have done an amazing job in there ! We have recently put a concrete floor in a cellar , one half is epoxied, love it, the other level will have to be Astro turf for now!

I’ll have to look into that!
Massive improvement!! Looks great Sam!! Can't wait to see the next video!!
Thank you! So excited to share the next one!
It's looking so good 👍 Can't wait to see how the space will transform once the cabinets are built. Wondering who that surprise guest will be 😊🎉
Ahhhhh! Cannot wait to share!
Looking so fresh!! Can't wait to see how the rest of it turns out! I think this is going to be a very satisfying makover.
Thank you! So stoked!

I think it’s going to be our Canadian friend…DIY Danie. She and Sam both have mad talents!
LOVE HER SO MUCH.
She is so talented and fun to watch. Just like you are, Sam!

No, a resin surface will be more suited to a rough floor, do not grind. Who told you that?
Looking good, I definitely need to use some of that concrete patch in a few spots.
Super helpful!
I hope your helper is who I think it is! Great job on the floor, and I can’t wait until next week!!
Ahhh! So excited!
Well done! I love all that you do!
It's been 4-5 months since you posted this concrete video. How has the floor held up in that time?
Definitely a dramatic improvement. Shop is looking good! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! So excited about this space!
Nice job...floor looks great! I am relived to see the space under the side door getting taken care of...kinda set off my rather limited sense of OCD. 🤣
Hahah - yeah. It needed some help.
So glad I found you. You remind me so much of DIY Danie and I love her!
Looking awesome, Sam!
Come over and build stuff with me!
Progress on shop is so beautiful, I too did the happy dance 😍😂❤✨
I love the new logos and animations, Sam. Great job on the floor!
That look SO nice I would like it in my house !! :))
Thank you! It was so easy!

Change your shutter speed on your camera to adjust for led lights
Got to be Shara from Woodshop Diary's. Her skills are amazing!
😏

She ignored your comment for those reasons 😬🤔😂
300 sf is larger then most 3k per month NY studio apartments.
Forreal tho. It’s larger than my first studio! It was 275 square feet.
Beautiful beginnings and blessings ❤
💓
It looks great, Sam! Can’t wait for your friend to come ❤️👍
Thank youuu!
Looking great, Sam. Just curious - did you insulate under the drywall?
Bill
Thanks! Of course. ☺️
Looking so good and no the lighting is great!
Hahah - trying to make it work!
I wish i had taken the time to properly clean up my concrete floors before moving in. SOO much harder after. haha. Nicely done.
Looking good! Great job Sam !!
Thank you!
excellent work done! looking forward to next weeks episode! shivering black bell and thumbs up!
Looks great. I ended up using garage floor tiles in my shop. Love ‘em!
Love that idea!
Floor looks wonderful! It’s a workshop, it can be a little rough.
Agreed! It’s going to see so much love. I can’t wait!
Can't wait for next episode!
Looks great! Hey ~ the Garage Door...where did you get that from?? I like it a lot!
I have concrete floors in my house and i don’t know whether to leave them and do some sort of epoxy or put planks ? Suggestions? ❤
Love the new logo!
Heck, that looks great!
Looks so good ! What was the last process/material did you used for the floor ?
Sam, that looked EXHAUSTING! Wow you worked your tail off on that. We missed you last weekend. What's a Saturday without Sam!
So how did you clean those Vans off of concrete crud because they looked brand new later on in the video LOL :)
Hahah - wasn’t so bad! I actually didn’t mind this one! I just hosed those bad boys off. ☺️
I'm so excited for you!!!
Thank you. 🥺
How's the floor holding up? Is it slippery when wet?
You jumped from old door and no walls to new door and dry wall. With the AC/Heat split unit, did you insulate before they hung the drywall?
Yes! Of course! I’ll cover more in depth once the full ship video comes out. Promise.
If you change the shutter angle on your camera it will fix the flickering :)
Once again, great job!
Thank you!
Exciting series!
So glad you think so! 🥹
Great job. Question, I noticed you got the new Sawstop CTS and still have the Jobsite. Are you going to do a comparison or review? Curious about your thoughts!
My dad just stole my jobsite, so it’s his now. 🤣 I’m not gonna lie, I’m loving the compact saw!
No powerwasher available? Or maybe some kind of sand or particle blaster?
I have a power washer, but it wasn’t necessary for prep! Just soap and water. ☺️
Good job Sam....Take care...
Thank you! You too!
Love the doors
Thank you!
Creo que ha sido el episodio que más me he reído 😂
How do people learn to do this stuff?
Have a drink every time she says ‘like’ 😂🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

Try self levelling compound
Can those concrete products be used in a basement??

@@diyhuntress ooo...I know a project I need to try...

The floor was actually in too rough of shape to do epoxy, which is why I resurfaced instead. But, I’m cool with it! I feel like it looks cool!

You just sneaking the new logo in there to see if anyone would notice?
😉
It looked so much smaller after the drywall went in… 😊
Hahaha. I actually felt the same way. Just wait until you see it with cabinets. 🤣
Awesome
If I were a betting man, I’d say it’s going to be Shara from Wood Shop Diaries.😎
Is it Shara of woodshop diarys?
I was thinking the same thing. Her wood working skills are amazing!
Maybeee… 😏
no because how you save the vans? they were BEAT after the concrete…
Nothing a hose and a dryer can’t fix! 🙌
💖
Hi Sam!
Hi!
Girlfirend you got more nuts than most of the guys watching this:)
Soy gel removes everything. No grinder needed
Quit saying concrete. It basically self leveling overlay.
It’s not self-leveling. It’s a hydraulic cement product that’s used a as a concrete resurfacer.
Fantastic work, Sam!❤ Can't wait to find out who the guest cabinet builder is! 🪚🧰🔨
SO EXCITEDDDD!
Shop is lookin good! I feel bad for whoever has to service the AC buried in the wall 🥲
It’s all still accessible! It can’t be moved because of how/where it was installed.
Girl just let it dry by itself
Well, what are you supposed to do?
