We just got a 2017 outback a couple months ago. As a young family, we went with it over the forester because the ride is better. We also like the long cargo area vs the tall cargo area.
Good for you guys. What are your favourite and least favourite things in the Outback now that you've owned it for a few months.
Favorite has to be the eyesight. Least favorite has to be the voice command. Its ok but could function a lot smoother.
Agreed. That was something I didn't get around to mentioning... I couldn't get a single address to load properly through voice recognition.
I have the 2016 OB 2.5i premium; this is what we call it here down under. We have the 2.0D trim, 2.5i and 2.5i or D premium with all bells and whistles.
I love my OB and do believe that Subaru provides quality and value for money no others can deliver. I hate to see other makers with plastic cars make it to high prices were Subaru still supplying the best AWD system for a reasonable price. You just need to real-world tests by fans to compare this with others. Only real 4x4 can beat this beast.
Just wanted to let Paul and the rest of the family wheels team that this review was one of the 2 decisive ones I saw that helped me pick this car for... my growing family haha.
The front legroom measurements after installing a rear facing seat are invaluable. Keep up the good work.
That is FANTATIC news! Glad we were able to help you. Thanks for letting us know!
i love the exterior styling. it’s really subtle, which makes it awesome. idk why
I've got a 16, love it! Only thing this car absolutely needs is proximity sensing keyless entry. My wife's prius has it and it's extremely helpful when you have your hands full with baby seats, diaper bags, dog leash, groceries, etc and not have to find your keys in the process. Seeing as subaru has always leaned towards those family/active lifestyle type of people, it kills me they haven't added it as at least an option.
gsdapollo that's an option now. And it is super helpful!
I absolutely love the Outback!
We planned on getting a Forester but after test drive it and the Outback we decided to get the Outback. So far we've had it for 2 weeks and 700 miles and love it. Small disappointment is we just installed the mud guards all around because it didn't come as standard for Limited 3.6 R.
Just got this car a few weeks ago Paul and love it. For me the selling points are the backseat space, trunk space, and pretty good MPG (2.5i is what I bought). The safety tech through EyeSight is outstanding. I do wish it had rain sensing wipers as an option. Love these reviews.
Nice, Egan. Did you go with a stick or a CVT? And what are your impressions of whichever transmission you bought so far?
Family Wheels I have the CVT and think it works well. It's not going to beat any cars off the line, but for 90% of the driving I do it's fine, averaging 23-25 mpg/city and 30-32 mpg/highway. Going up steep long grades is its kryptonite. I love all the space and it handles nicely. The ride is very smooth.
The Outback IMO is a great family car, and I prefer it over the Forester simply because of a larger usable seating area & trunk vs. the Forester's seemingly larger but actually less usable dimensions. Like always, I always prefer wagons > SUV, even if the Outback over the years has taken many SUV styling cues to stay relevant in anti-wagon North America. Also while the Forester has the newer & more efficient 2.0 turbo powerplant, the Outback's 3.6 Flat 6 is inherently smoother & proven over the years, something the newer FA20 DIT isn't quite yet.
My conclusion? We need less small SUV and more wagons in Canada.
I like your real world reviews. I disagree with the climate control suggestion. I hate integrated controls. I've used a few in Fords and they are so cumbersome. with physical knows you can do what you want without even looking. Touch screen not so much.
I totally agree! Let me change something by feel instead of having to drill down thru menu after menu, and then having to look at the screen to know where to touch to do what I want.
I also agree. Give me a knobs! I hate everything being touch screen. I like the Subaru’s climate control setup. Keep it simple!
Climate controls shouldnt be buried in an infotainment screen. Many many real people hate thate, and they have a point. Thsi is the first time ever I heard someone complain about it.
Been driving the exact same one (black 3.6R touring) for a couple weeks. Would 'like' better gas mileage, but other than that I LOVE it. Had an '04 Outback for over 13 years previously. I can haul 2 kids and 2 dogs VERY comfortably, AWD makes it very safe, all the onboard systems are quite functional once you get used to them and the java interior makes it feel ike a luxury car to me.
Nice one! Thanks for letting us know how it's going so far.
Hey man could u tell me more about ur 04 outback? I thought about getting a limited for my first car. My big concern is gas. Please help
just got the exact same outback except in green a week ago and we love it! I get compliments on it too!!
I love you right now because I have one on the way! I have a Jetta right now but, we want our dog to come along when the baby is born! So, after I saw your Forester review, my wife and I went to the Subaru dealer and....we liked the Outback more! Now this review comes out and makes me happy still. Now......just waiting for VW to buy back my TDI lol.
Oh, good! Once you've been driving your new Outback around for a bit, write back and give us your pros and cons! Thanks for watching.
Great review! Just few hour before your video we took delivery of a '17 Outback Touring (US) 3.6r in black. Main reason for purchase was safety for the kiddo and roomy compared to the competition.
Yes, that back seat is really amazing for a car of this size. Touch base in a couple weeks after you've been driving it for a while to let us know what you think! Enjoy your news wheels, Jason.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. Knowing that rear facing car seats fit makes all the difference!
I don’t have a family. I’m not even married, but because I’ve been traveling with a lot of luggage and probably will be doing that for a while. I test drove one of these and it was a limited model and I really liked it. Might start to invest in getting one within the next year or two.
Awesome! Sounds like a plan, reliable and practical cars, for sure.
I need a Subaru outback 2017 model .
I'm so glad I found your channel. Great review!
Great to have you watching, Daniel!
Now this review is a problem for me, my mind was set on the 2017 Forester and now I have to consider it all back and do a test drive on the Outback, tough decision, kids are grown up, I have freedom of time way more then ever so might stick with forester but... Outaback is so awsome !!!
Love your reviews! Actually your reviews plus Everyday Drivers are the reason I went looking differently for my family car, the one I ended up getting is a 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT Limited Wagon 5 speed manual, such a bigger car than my FR-S but still plenty of fun and my wife loves it for our new born son too.
Great review, thanks! I just purchased a 2017 OB and Love it!
Thanks for your reviews! I'm torn between the Foz XT and Outback 3.6 myself. It's not going to be our family vacation-mobile, so I'm leaning towards the XT right now, even though it costs more in fuel than the 3.6 because of the premium fuel requirement.
From what I've heard the Foz is more agile and zippy and transmits a lot more road feel whereas the Outback is more of a cruiser type, solid, smooth...
Unfortunately the 3.6 Touring (Premier) only comes in 4 colors in the US here, with 1 interior; Foz has several!
I have a 2011 2.5 now and definitely want the extra power. It's worth the fuel tradeoff to me.
Wait, WHAT?! How is it that the outback has a taller roof? This can't be right. The Forester is known for being taller and the outback is known for being wider.
Nice review. Manual transmissions are not available in the USA on the Outback. I have an 09 Forester which I love and never had any problems, when I get ready to sell it, I plan to get an Outback with "EyeSight". I love Subaru customer service. I will probably buy the 2.5 engine since you like it better than the 3.6 and it does get better mileage. Thank you.
Thanks for watching and writing!
I just traded in my 09 Forester for a 2018 Outback. Granted, it was nine years old, but the materials are so much nicer in the new Outback and I got the base model. Ride is more comfortable by a long shot, and you really seem much more insulated from the sounds of the road and engine in the new Outback.
I disagree with intergrating climate controls with infortainment. It bexomes dificult to fix the infortainment or uprade it. This setup is the best.
Great reviews! After test driving Forester/Outback/Alltrack we went with the alltrack. Although we loved the space in the Outback, the performance (fun to drive) and refinement (including the panoramic sunroof) swayed me to the VW. Only time will tell when it comes to overall reliability (both subaru and VW seem to have their +/-). Your reviews really made me focus on the specific car attributes to look at when I was shopping around. Thanks Again!
Glad to help, Steve! After you've had it for a few weeks, let us know how you're liking the Alltrack!
As you know I waited to see the Alltrack but I do love Subaru too. But when myself or The Wife puts her lead foot down she needs extra power for hauling kids up the mountains here in B.C. plus Ski equipment or safety size for accidents more squared off muscle looking unlike myself! We went with the V6 Acadia AWD with 310 HP. Cylinder deactivation is pretty good but only when I drive it, thats pretty good to get 7- 9 l,KLM. Now if you could only get a Wrangler Sport for review when the snow hits you this week!
Interesting. I've been hearing good things about the Acadia - although the 4 cyl is under-powered. I'll see if I can get into one.
Family Wheels Yes the 4 was okay with me and wife driving in town. Good for a single person who is using it part time for weekend camping etc but not strong enough for 3 girls plus the wife (four women 😢) & myself a V6 is needed.
I really don’t understand why people need so much more power. I find my 2018 2.5 outback has ample acceleration and power
Ditto. But i drive like a grandpa and try to squeeze-out max efficiency.
Ditto and I am a grandpa and try to practice safe/defensive driving.
The problem I always had with the Forester is the interior still included many of the cheaper and harder feeling bits of the Impreza on which it is based. I couldn't get over that at the prices it sells for, especially in the upper trims.
Great review. Just bought one myself. I agree with the previous comment. I like the climate controller. We have a Ford Escape as well and never use the integrated controller with the Sync system.
hi, one of the best car review and comparison i have seen lately when hunting for a new family car.
Glad to hear it, Oded! Thanks for writing and watching.
The reason the tow rating isn't higher with the bigger engine is because the engine isn't the problem, it's the transmission. The cvt has always been a weak link. It's also why the all wheel drive system doesn't work as well in the Subarus with the cvt. The car cuts power to save the cvt in tuff situations. I'm sure it's fine under normal driving but these are signs that the car you payed good money for has a weak transmission.
Great point, it'll be interesting to see what condition the CVT's are in at the 8-10 year mark and how they're holding up.
@@FamilyWheels
I think the manufacturers are banking on customers not keeping cars as long as they use to. Unfortunately the ones that are going to be paying the price are the people that buy these cars used.
Very nice review. I, too, had an Outback years ago and am now revisiting the model for retirement. The one thought that keeps coming back to me is the exterior styling. The earlier models looked like an offroad vehicle. They had wide stance, aggressive moldings, and offroad tires. The interior was terrible and the engine couldn't get out of its own way. I just drove a 2018 3.6R last week. I have to say, Subaru has come a long, long way with the car. However, back to target audience, I think they're missing the boat by making it too much a station wagon. I want an SUV that isn't boxy, bland, tall, and handles like a tow truck but also has a sporty, offload look to it. Note, I think other companies are going too far with that, ie the new Passport and Blazer in 2019.
Gosh I love Calgary so beautiful 😍 Subaru n Calgary perfect combination
This is the review I was looking for, rear facing carseat and cargo space.good job
Fantastic, Den. Glad to help!
Great review as always. Alltrack is much smaller inside and feels pretty cheap (it's based on a Golf with a tiny bit more rear leg room... I was struck by how dinky and not nice it felt compared to my GTI, the leatherette VW uses is terrible). Audi Allroad is $10K more for comparable equipment, V90 is $15K more.
Great review. Wonder whether you can do a review on the 2018 Outback Limited with Eye Sight/GPS option.
enjoy all the reviews you do. Keep it going! thank you!!!
Thanks for watching and writing!
Nice review! the brown leather is really nice. And i agree with you on the back seat room. I know the VW alltrack is design to compete with the outback but if your priority is space, this choice is a no brainer.
Subaru is calling that Java Brown and the open pore wood trim is slick too. Big improvements in the interior for the Outback. Thanks for watching.
I like the outback. If it had a normal transmission and less intrusive safety nannies it would be the best car they made. Good size. Nice usable interior. Very good car to Live with.
Haha, safety nannies! I've driven a couple cars recently that simply do NOT stop pinging warning sounds at you!
@@FamilyWheels
I know right? I get the reason they have these systems but who wants to live with a car like that every day for years. It'd drive me nuts.
Really great job with a great down to earth review on Forester vs. Outback. For me I end up with Outcack. Going to by one.
Thanks, Joseph. The comparison was a tough toss-up for me. Let us know your impressions after you pick yours up.
Interior of the Canadian version of Outback touring trim appears have differences. He referred to it as "Premier " here its called "Touring". I disagree about 2nd row roominess, it can hold 2 adults for a long trip, but not 3. Just my opinions.
how is the reliability of the 2.0D
on german used car market there are couple of outbacks from this generation and i am interested in the diesel version
the previous generation had some problem, but there isn't much to find about the 2015 - 2018 model
No idea. Thanks for watching.
Ok I watched video and read all comments. About to purchase Outback July 31 . Please all that own reply. 4 or 6 engine? Service intervals compared to other brands? Anything ......thanks.
Great review as always. Which is has more cargo space the Outback or Forester?
974 L with the Forester, 1005 L with the Outback - so they're very close. Thanks for watching, Bob.
Great thanks for the info :)
The Outback cargo floor is much larger than the Forester’s so a bit more useful to me being a dog owner.
My next car they are a very good car
Thanks for the great review!
I'm currently at a toss up between upgrading my 2011 Outback to a 2017 3.6 Limited Outback or spending a bit more for a Mazda CX 9 Grand Touring. Even though they are supposed to be in different categories (because of the 3rd row seat), they actually have near identical specs with regard to storage, fuel economy, ground clearance and AWD capability. My biggest complaint with my 2011 is the terrible roll problem it has - it's like driving a bus. I do live in snow country so I need the AWD.
Any thoughts?
Dan H tough one, Dan. I was so impressed by that Mazda. Gorgeous interior with some great fuel economy despite the rather roomy cabin. But the Outback will have better resale and is a bit more car like. How are you leaning?
I've been making my list of pros and cons that matter to me. So far it looks like this:
CX 9 advantages: +7
Luxury, "Sportiness", rear storage (when 3rd row is down), elevated screen (It looks odd the way they implemented it but I don't like looking down at a screen when driving), heads up display, sun shade for the rear passengers, sport shift not on the steering wheel - people like paddle shifters but I found that when driving twisty mountain roads, they can be a pain to keep track of their location especially coming out of a hairpin corner. I've accidentally down shifted instead of up shifting more than once and was just glad I had no one on my tail.
Outback advantages: +8
Less expensive, established reliability, shorter and lighter, usable roof rack, Xmode (not sure if Mazda's sport mode helps in certain situations), rear heated seats, slightly better fuel economy, large useful fog lights (not sure about the small ones on the Mazda)
Unknowns:
I haven't used either infotainment systems. I like that newer systems will let you monitor engine information (oil temp etc) but not sure how flexible the GPS systems are when you want to vary from your destination or just check out the map to see what's near by.
How well the Mazda i-ACTIV system works vs the outback. I have a steep driveway to get out of and with 1 to 2 feet of snow, the outback gets me out (most of the time). Wondering if the extra weight and length of the CX 9 would be a problem here.
I'm still leaning towards the outback (primarily for the price) but the CX 9 is really tempting.
I am looking at the Ouback and the CRV. so which of the 2 do you prefer? great video for both vehicle. keep it up!
Salbaje which vehicle did you end up getting?
Very good review, i quote both outback and forster lease per month, outback is 50 dollar cheaper than forester in Torotno canada.
Great review!! How did you like it compared to the Audi Allroad? I have two little kids (one front face and one rear face car seats) and I want to downsize from my Honda Pilot to a more efficient wagon. My wife and I are not very tall (about 5’ 4”) so leg room isn’t much of an issue. Thanks!!
Hi Taka! If you have the money for the pretty significant price differential, we LOVED the Allroad. It's sporty, efficient, looks fantastic and has a first rate interior. But the Outback comes in at a better buck and has a larger interior (second row and cargo capacity). If it were my dime and I had the extra money on hand, I'd lean toward the Allroad.
Great review, bro. I'm considering between Forester 2017 and Outback 2017. I would appreciate your take on which is a better buy. Thanks!
This is a tough choice and different people are going to have different answers. In my opinion, if you want more storage space, second row comfort and a smoother ride... the Outback wins out. If you want a sportier feel, a vehicle that's still made in Japan, and aren't as into the wagon-styling of the Outback... go for the Forester. Let us know what you wind up deciding on! I'm curious now.
Family Wheels Thanks for your opinion, bro. I'll surely let you know which we finally decide on.
Family Wheels btw, outback is made in US
Yes, I caught that and put text over the video. Got the wrong info from the dealer. Thanks for watching.
btw, re noise levels, Alex on Autos got 75.5 dB level at i think similar speed--iirc his is at 50 mph. So i'm wondering about that big difference of yours vs his.
I like the premier edition. But I think what they are missing is placing the Forester CVT on the Outback 3.6R... now that would be a fun car.
Certainly the Forester XT was the more lively drive, in my mind. I'm not sure how much of that is the turbo and how much is the CVT, though. Thanks for watching!
Hello, can you show how to change the low beam bulb on this vehicle?
My only complaint against Outback is it handles like a boat. Although now I see I'm definitely not in their target demographic. The 3.6's engine bay is absolutely stuffed, would be a nightmare to work on.
Looks like your example lost the integrated roof crossbar? I thought it was pretty nice to have.
The cargo capacity on the Forester and outback should be the same. The Forester is taller, the outback is wider and I think I little longer
Vic Wiseman the spec sheets speak for themselves, Vic. Take a look at at Subaru.ca
Family Wheels The Forester is a taller vehicle overall. You are right about the outback being a little more spacious unless you get the Forester without the moon roof which is actually larger. "If you were to dump a bunch of golf balls into both cars, the Forester without the moonroof would win."
www.stanleysubaru.com/outback-vs-forester.htm
The handling of the Outback is much more car like and smoother than the Forrester. Both seem to be made for Canadian drivers.
Thanks for watching. I see you bought two Outbacks recently. I hope you got a bulk discount!
Yes we did. This is actually our 3rd Subaru in 2 years from the same dealership. We have had two Forrests in the past, an 04 which is still on the road and a 2015. Both great SUVs but thought we should try a step up and try the Outback and wow.. The best cars I've owned in 30+ years fo buying cars. The dealer through in a top level trailer hitch, wheel fender trim and remote starter.
Another great job! Enjoyable to watch.
Thanks, as always, for watching, Darryl.
Please review the 2.5i 6MT..thanks
we dont have outback for sale in the country where i lived. never seen one irl. but if i faced with the options between the two, i will pick the forester 2l turbo. its just looks more dynamic. outback looks like grandpa car. i personally drives an xv with cvt. i only wish it came with the turbo engine, then it would be perfect.
As the owner of a subaru forester 2009 2.5x - it is a car that i love and hate. love the awd system. love the safety rating. that's it. hate the: 1. uninspired bland dated exterior and interior design 2. 2nd rate quality/reliability when compared to my experiences with toyota and honda vehicles. 3. rough engine sound/idle at start-up and acceleration. if not for the awd and safety I'd buy a honda or toyota.
That was a surprisingly good aussie accent.
Kudos to Subaru for updating their latch system. I'm always a fan of more practicality, but seeing the cavity of the latches in the leather is disappointing, it's looks like a cheap afterthought on execution.
I can see how people might think that. It does look a bit cheap but it's totally worth it if you're taking the car seat in and out a lot!
How do you like that XC70? I'm considering a used one but I'm afraid of European car reliability issues and maintenance costs
We love our Volvo but yes, you will find it a bit costlier to repair than an Outback. So far, ours has been pretty rock solid.
Family Wheels ok thanks!
Very good review of the 2017 outback.
Thanks very much for watching, E.
The Alltrack is a lot more fun to drive on pavement and the space with the seats up is close to the same. I would choose the Subaru if it was not so boring to drive though because of its better AWD system and ground clearance.. The CVT sucks the life out of that car. That is why it cannot tow more with the bigger engine. CVT's are awful.
Thats bloody good Aussie accent mate, good on ya Cob
0:51 1995 Outback had 70 cubic feet of cargo capacity. 2017 Outback has 73 cubic feet of cargo space. Much larger???
Family Wheels
I have a 1998 and 2010, my wife's. The 2010 isn't that much larger when they are side by side. 2017 is only an inch or longer and wider than 2010. They use optical illusion to make it seem like it is larger when it really isnt. My 1998 has almost new suspension and so it isn't sagging like most 1990s Subarus you might see. It is a big ass car when you see it next to the 2010, side by side, same size. It just seems smaller, but it is an optical illusion. It is a 70 cubic foot cargo capacity vehicle, just like the Volvo V70, which I had right before I bought the Subaru and Subaru is the same size as the 2000 V70, which I had. i had a picture of them together and both cars are the same size. Volvo again uses optical illusion and most people, including me, would think that 2000 V70 is much larger than 1998 Subaru. Nope.
Your probably right! However, inside there has been big changes and the new ones just keep getting larger!
Your Australian accent is excellent!
anyone know the best way to get a deal in BC on the 2018 base model? Should i just bargain for accessories/more accessories?
Hi Family Wheels any chance you could do a review of your Volvo XC70. I've been looking at the T6 2015. If you can't maybe you can give your honest opinion as always.
I've been asked about this before but I just don't think enough people would be interested in doing a full up review on an eight year old car! It's also incredible dirty! But here are my thoughts, Anselmo:
- For a one car family, it is perfect because it's not a huge SUV that we hate driving in the city but it still offers tonnes of room for dogs, kids and stuff
- The T6 is a peppy engine but, compared to more modern engines, it is really quite thirsty. We average 12.5 L/100 kms which is way behind much larger vehicles at this point
- Reliability has been fantastic. We've just had to do routine maintenance on it
- It's great that it can tow 3500 lbs (we have a small trailer) but it's a very thirsty car under load. The engine needs to work hard with constant turbo spool. We've actually discovered that great big pick-ups are more efficient at towing than our Volvo
- Seat comfort is top shelf
- The second row in our car has the optional built-in booster seats. We're not using them yet because our kid is too small. But for families, this is slick kit
- It's not a great cornering car. There's a fair bit of body roll because of the jacked up suspension
- But because it sits high, and because of its amazing AWD system, it is a fantastic winter driver
- The various drive modes (comfort, sport, etc) don't seem to do anything to the performance of this car
Hope that helps!
Family Wheels thank for the quick response and I appreciate the opinion.
Family Wheels What is your opinion on the T5 the I5 or I4? Do you think it would be under powered? Thanks.
what are your thoughts between the Outback and the 2017 CRV all wheel drive
tomkat USA All I can say is Subarus all wheel drive system is far superior
Wow, the Forester was quieter at speed? Really! I would have thought the Outback was the more premium quieter car! Very surprised!
That was a surprise for us too, Daniel. Thanks for watching.
Not a problem, thank-you for the upload!
great job, awesome vid!
Well i want a test with the new Crosstrack!
Ha, I'll see what I can arrange, Victor. Thanks for watching.
All the best from Romania.I love Subaru.Crosstrack is my favorite car.
Do you know if they make Manual transmissions for Outbacks?
I know you can get a manual in Canada but gather that is not always the case in other countries.
Family Wheels I probably can get one in CA and bring it over to the US :)
People do it all the time... especially with the current exchange rate for you guys.
Family Wheels what is the current exchange rate??
$1.26... in your favour.
I will take a vw sport wagon with 4 motion and 6 speed manual over this. More fun to drive, better proportioned, better looking and around 5-10k less expensive, depending on trim
This is all about how much room you need and what's important to you. I'm looking forward to having the Alltrack available with a stick here in Canada. It will really bring the 1.8T to life. Thanks for watching.
Subie
All day long
Great video
How tall are you bro? I mean, my friend is like 188cm and he still like 8cm of legroom.
6'2. Pretty much the same height, Diwa.
Is that a seiko wrist watch ?
It sure is... I get a LOT of questions about it here on the channel.
It looks great on you. I noticed you changed wearing it under and over your wrist. What model is it?
5 Sports - my only beef is the Hardlex face scratches more easily than I'd hoped
You guys are from Alberta?
You bet. Calgary based.
Towing capacities somehow go up year after year without suspension changes, I am not just talking about Ford. Hmmmmmm? You can throw that spec out the window.
Any plans to review the 2017 Audi Allroad any time soon?
I'm hoping to get into it before Christmas, Bryan.
will subaru have 7 seat suv?
I have read online that this is indeed coming - looks like a BIG Outback from the limited pics I saw ... hope it comes in time for us because this is why we are leaning toward something other than the OB which we absolutely love.
Yes, one is expected to be arriving within the next couple years. Subaru's working title is the Viziv but that's likely to change.
The forester xt has a higher ground clearance
I would've thought so, too. But take a look at the official spec sheets.
Forester: www.subaru.ca/WebPage.aspx?WebSiteID=282&WebPageID=20738&Range=Forester&ModelYear=2017
Outback: www.subaru.ca/WebPage.aspx?WebSiteID=282&WebPageID=20923&Range=Outback&ModelYear=2017
All trims of the Outback and Forester have the same 220 mm ground clearance.
Sorry for the false info i just double checked it so why is every one saying the forester is more capable off road ? shorter wheelbase maybe ?
That certainly wouldn't hurt. Approach angles may be better as well. Perhaps an off-road type could chime in here?
Checked on Edmonds and from what they are saying
The older outbacks had 8.4 inch of ground clearance guess the new ones got higher
I think what you will find is the Forester is the better vehicle off-road. From what I have always read the Outback has 213mm and the Forester and XV have 220mm of clearance, perhaps your right and this has changed. I like to think of the Outback as the family wagon that you take adventuring and camping. Gravel and highway is where the Outback shines, the Forester however is for the younger slightly smaller family that still does similar adventuring, however the Forester shines in slightly rougher rockier environments and has that slightly higher stance in the corners on gravel and on the highway. The Forester is perfect for adventuring and city driving, the Outback for gravel travel and long trips! Love our Outback overall, oh and not bad go on the Aussie accent, lol, we are from down under! Thanks again!
With the 2020 Outback, your climate control/infotainment wishes have been granted. You were ahead of your time! 😉
Wonderful! Call me the car whisperer
Outback!!
Hey good job
...Ys I'm liking your review...
..but say thew equal from liter to feet...thanks...etc...;--)........
Any plans to review the 2017 Audi Allroad?
Some time in later January, I think. Thanks for watching, Stephen.
I visited Calgary 2010,,,north east area ,,,
wondering what u meant by 'japanese made', since of course it's assembled in U.S.a, and lots of north american made content
lighting bro. the intro you had the sun behind you... cant hardly see u or the car
I hear you! Tough sledding when you're the camera guy and the host. But I'm dialling in my systems! Thanks for watching.
Clunky seems to describe things that you do not like, pretty vague. Tell us engine rpm while cruising
RPM at 110 kph is about 1700 and I've gotten 800.3 klm to a tank of gas. 2017 Outback Premium 3.6r is the best car I've owned so we bought two of them.
next is impreza
Ha, I think the new Crosstrek will be our next Subaru review but I'll put them Impreza on the list too, Kyle. Thanks for watching.
r u by Anaheim cir?
No, we're based in Canada. This is Calgary.
Thats about the lamest interior I've ever seen
I won't buy another Subaru until they fix the HG & oil consumption issues
Do you spend the time retyping this comment in full or just copy and paste it on every Subaru Outback review on RUclips? The last video I saw you had posted the comment 3 months ago. Subaru must have done a real number on you.
Steven A. Button HG issues were fixed almost two decades ago. Oil consumption was a very limited issue, 2% of cars from 2011-2015 had it.
92K on my 2015 Outback. Never low on oil. Oil level is consistent from oil change to oil change.
Shayden M 😂😂😂😂
Subaru used to be awesome. But now I suggest all young families to steer away from all Japanese brands. Where built in Japan or assembled here. Remember fukushima nuclear plant. It powers the industrial zone and has been leaking since 2012.
That's why I would opt German's
***** Domestic are pretty good too. Buick is number 3 in CR brand reliability rankings.
That Buick nod from Consumer Reports was a big deal when it came out last month. Cool to see them upping their game. Thanks for watching.
Ansr Max If a tsunami ever floods Indiana I'll stop buying Subarus. Thanks for your wisdom.
The13point1 please find out the difference between manufacturing and assembling.
