What I love about Remi's songs is not only are they extremely catchy, but they have such a high level of musicality, phrasing, and layered production that somehow feels both familiar and unexpected. There is so much detail to unpack, so much personality, silliness, complexity, soulfulness, charisma and all out originality that make her music so infectious and transcendent. Remi is, undeniably, a pure pop genius.

This girl just has that “oomf” that you can’t really explain what it is, she just has it lol. She’s gonna blow up for sure. Down to the lyrics, the melodies, the production, etc. Everything feels so fresh and unique and her own thing.

That “oomf” is called a funk groove. Take some walking funk bass lines, add a syncopated kick patter or 4 on the floor (disco beat) and you’ll have a song that’s hard not to love. Then Remi and her crew go above and beyond with the production and vocal layering and it’s basically a recipe for bangers.

Im not sure how or when I stumbled upon Remi Wolf, but I just cannot believe she is not mainstream yet. The production quality, creativity, and most of all bass need to be recognized.
shes just such a perfect example of female artistic expression without catering to the male gaze. thats part of what makes her so refreshing i think. art just for the sake of art, makeup for the sake of cool sparkly colors and not nose contour or over lining lips or changing the shape of your eyes. i love her so much shes so authentic its just irresistibly inspiring

overlining your lips or contouring your nose does not inherently cater to the male gaze. sometimes makeup is just makeup. and even if a female artist does these things - is their art not just as important? are they still not expressing an authentic message? why would how they look invalidate what they’re saying?

I love how this song shows off her vocals. She is versatile with her work, showing that she can semi-rap as adeptly as how she delivers soulful singing like this. Such feel-good vibes at 1:44 - sounds a bit like a playful scat. This and grumpy old man are my favourites off the album. I wish she had a bandcamp page so that I can pay $2 each for the two tracks mentioned above.

I just turned 50 guys and I heard her song Liz in a movie recently. How refreshing to hear the old school funky flavour she brings to the modern style of hers. This one is only her second song I’m hearing and she’s definately becoming a favourite. It even has a guitar solo in it. She’s not scared to be different. Love it.
