Great to get on a permission like that Glenno. Well done on the gold. 0.34g is my smallest with the 6000 and a 10 x 5 coil. Definitely worth a swing up there. Good luck on your next outing 😁👍
Hi Glenno, a very interesting episode, thank you for showing. Old mine traces, a family quest and promising spots... thats what good stories need! Good luck! And greetings from Munich! Jens
What a great episode, undetected ground is very rare. I hope the land owner will get a small vial of gold for the privilege of allowing you on. I have a mate, old gold field. He allows me there, i have found very small fine flour gold there and always with Mercury. 1870 field, small & didnt last long. His property is smack in the middle, a hell of a lot of workings, hard rock mines surrounding it. The old township is there as well, 20 metres from his house is the old school ( nothing but a flat spot now) but I am looking forward to some relic detecting. I give him all the gold i find, after i retort the Mercury away and smelt it. Cheers Glenno. How awesome!😮
@@andypandyAU.6669 good on u Andy the school play area will have some coins for sure there might even be a race cause as well . If this place is as good as I think it is the owners sun about 14 is supper keen I will take him with me and show him how to pan and detect
Great score Glenn getting private property to yourself. I once had access to private property similar to this along the Mongarlowe river. Boy did the old timers rip that place apart, the amount of manual labor they did was incredible, all with pick and shovel. Like your spot there are shafts everywhere. Last week I found a hand stacked rock wall, probably Chinese, in places 2m high and 1 or 2m wide at the base and about 150m long leading up the hill from a creek with a house site and chimney stack at the top. They had surfaced the whole hillside. I detected some of the area but the junk just drove me crazy. I did a couple of test pans with no success, I'll be back there one day.
Thats between Hillend and Hargreaves, i spent a year living out of my jackaroo in the bush there. Theres a gold reef near Hargreaves i found and dug up 4 nuggets next to each other avg 40 grams each in Quartz and a 1oz Gold Sovereign
Great work chasing up the old mud map mate. Good to see you got rewarded for your efforts. Half a gram is awesome. Sometimes we go a whole day for that much depending on where your digging. Can't wait to see you take the 6000 up there and see what it can feast on. Surely there's detectable gold after that picker showed up for you. All the best mate. Good Luck & Happy Swingin'
It’s gotta feel awesome to finally make it to where Dad always planned to visit and dig. By the way, please pardon my ignorance, but what in the world is a “mud map”.? Stay safe out there, my friend! PS. Here in East Texas a MUD Map refers to our Municipal Utility District (MUD).
Look for the trees. They are all in the holes with lots of mineralization showing you where to look. I'm looking forward to seeing you go there again soon 👍👌💯💚💛❤️
@@getdownanddirtyprospecting well in those days there wasnt any detectors, but yes there are places worth detecting. Obviously I wont give locations, I dont know how long the current owner has been there but might be worth asking.
Very exciting stuff Glenn"o . 👍👍That place has received a lot of attention in it's Day , that's for sure . And the build up of debris on those Mullock heaps would need some serious raking . That is a very good result though for only half a dozen pans along the creek . Nice spot Glenno. Could be a few sov’s around given how rich the ground was. Reckon they were looking for the gutters with those deep holes. The reef could of been the saddle type given the closeness of the lines.
