For God's sake!! The cast is fire! Patrick Gibson has been so good at playing diverse roles ,Sarah Michelle Gellar ,has a great talent and as about Slater... I am just gob smacked. With such strong cast ,i would totally watch it, plus that,i love the Dexter tv series.The original and of course the remake

I was only 12 when the first season came out in 2006 but i didnt start watching it until 2010. Though once i started i was hooked and i bonded with my older brother over the show.
Christian Slater! Grew up watching this guy! He was in my fvaroutie film ever when I was 7 Prince of Thieves. I always wondered what happened him, great to see him back in another of my favourite series.
My octogenarian mom loves SMG from watching Buffy when she was in her 50s, not sure if there were reruns or not but she loved the show. She looks amazing!
The performance he did for “the oa” only ensures for me that he is perfect for this role. Amazing actor I didn’t know he had an accent in the oa he does so good I really hope they bring the oa back with Steve’s character and happ right where they left off. He is the other half to Britt marlings “the oa”. Phenomenal actor
Very much the opposite for me. I'll be anxiously watching this show despite Sarah Michelle Gellar. She's the only one I am not excited about. I find her shallow, pretentious & nauseating.
I am really hoping this is a success for Sarah Michelle Gellar. She deserves it. Never saw the original series, which also had Julie Benz (who played Darla in the Buffyverse), but will be watching this for Gellar.
trust me watch the original show (+ New Blood) its really worth it and its not really a prequel in the classical term, there are connections with the sequel

I know everyone will disagree with me because I know a lot of people didn't like the way the original Dexter ended, but I actually loved it and was ok with it but I felt that new blood was forced at some especially at the end with the writing, and was mainly written because a lot of people who didn't like the way the original Dexter ended weren't satisfied which is crazy because if you think like that you're never going to please everyone there will always be someone or some people that don't like something for whatever reason but anyways we'll see on this new show I feel like a lot more stuff is going to be forcefully written I'm still a fan of the show so don't attack me fanboys😂
After watching episode 6, you can see that Patrick is really embracing the character. He's even developing Michael C. Hall's mannerisms as Dexter! As a fact, everyone seems to be more like their original series counterparts more than they did in episode 1.

I love Dexter - Read all eight novels, watched every episode, heck I'm even a Princess Goes fan... I also happen to love Christian Slater (pump up the volume rocks) and Sarah Michelle Geller who is just as stunning now as she was in Buffy / (Poispn ivy) - So I know it's going to be weird seeing characters we know and love being played by other folks we know and some we don't, but all in all I think I'm going to love the new show!

By looking at the actors and the concept of the show being a prequel to the series I can guess who they are playing, but it wouldn't have hurt to put the cnames of the character that the actor is playing on the screen text for each of them.
Christian is playing Harry Morgan, Dexter's dad. The young lady next to him will be playing Debra, Dexter's sister. Sarah Michelle Geller is playing Dexter's boss. He's just an intern when the show starts in 1991. The man on the far right will be playing Dexter.

I didn't watch the last half of New Blood or Dexter Season 8. Once I got the hint that they were going to have Harrison kill Dexter, I carefully looked to see if that was the case, and when I found out that it was, I stopped watching. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I was very tentative going into New Blood. As for season 8, once they kidnapped Laguerta, that was it for me. I didn't even bother with season 8.
