- Enjoy beautiful Ljubljana city spoted through the lense of Citiesin4k in autumn.
It is the capital and the biggest city in Slovenia.
The symbol of this city is the Ljubljana Dragon. You can find it on the top of the tower of the Ljubljana Castle and on the Ljubljanica crossing Dragon Bridge.
The architecture of the city is a mix of different styles. The city center remains intact although at the city edges the appearance of large buildings grows.
Due a large numbers of earthquakes the architecutre in Ljubljana changed after each rebuilding. Today there are leftovers from the last rebuilding in the Vienna Secession style mixed with Baroque remains.

Believe it, it s not small city, you probably just saw the old town, i live in ljubljana 6 km from old town, Ljubljana is spread around 20 km around city center, so by size it bigger than Paris. Size of Lj is 160 km 2.

I passed an horrible Erasmus there, apart food the city is dead and i do not ABSOLUTELY raccomend to go there expecially in winter, It was terrifyng the poorness od soul
You are poor and negative in the soul. No wonder you had a bad time. You really have to be a spiritual morron to have a lousy time in Ljubljana and Slovenia, where there is so much to do in a very small, compact place. The cities are perhaps a nuance less lively during the winter, but if you are from Europe that should not come as a big surprise to you.
Well, you should visit it in summer, Trieste cant compare witH Ljubljana with natural beaty and city center architecture, I KNOW , I LIVE IN lJUBLJANATrieste look really depressing., also historicly Trieste belongs to US, SLOVENIJA It was liberated by Slovenian partisans, to be given away from Tito, cause Usa influence made it happen.
