“Drilling into the ground” what a perfect visual concept!!! It really makes you think about that hip movement! You are so go at getting in all the important points without any superfluous jibber jabber. Thank you!!!!!! _ Annie
Oss Hi. Good video on "how to" of shuto uke. I would really love to see the "why" the movements is like that. I mean, the purpose of shuto uke. Why the pulling shuto hand ends at the belly rather than ends at the waist like other moves hikite. Why the pulling hand doesnt make a fist like other hikite hand. Why the palm facing up, not facing down? Thank you, oss!
Because the hikite in this instance is grabbing the tricep, and the reason for it being across the belly is because you're trapping their arm against your torso while striking at the neck; stand too square-on, and they have a much easier time escaping the grip because you're trapping less of them.
You do an outstanding job teaching the most important part,.. the fundamentals. Seriously. My favorite move is when you tossed the mike at the end. Excellent move. Osu!
Ossu Hello sir lam Apurv from India And lam yellow belt karate shotokan student Your video always help in learning and lam also able to perform good in dojo Thank you Ossu
A tip for people who feel like there isn't much power in the lower area of the body when you're doing the technique, so basically it comes down to your hip movement, try to think of it as grabbing a pool noodle and twisting it one way, it'll go back when you let go, right? Same thing with your hips, as he says it you pull it down, you're just twisting to one side, and letting the muscles relax to go to it's original form, but when you let your hip relax after you twist, make sure to add power to fully give you advantage in the technique!!

Hello yousuke .. My name is Mario .... I am writing to you from the beautiful Italy ... A question ... Which karategi do you use ... There is a brand that prevails ... Which is ... It can be purchased from Italy .. .. Continue with your videos ... Our karate, in Italy, grew up at the hands of your compatriot ... Hiroshi shirai ... Who came to Italy in the 60s .... you know him .... Thanks oss !!. Mario!
What type of karategi do you use? I am looking for a medium weight one which is light but still has that snap. Do you have any recomendations of brands or models?
I bought a 15 ounce Tokaido gi in 1974 .It gave me a real crack on blocks and punches .I think it cost me around £45 .Which was a lot of money in 74 . long since stopped karate as now 80 .But still have the gi .
You're such a GOOD TEACHER. Please do the other blocks also? :-)

Hi I am in it
In shotokan, moving forward in kotukso dachi pivots on the heel, the leg that is behind. Could you make a video about it?
Can you let us know what organization you belong to? And the dojo you film in. Cool background setting.
❤️❤️❤️
Oss! You have a Sub

Oss!! Sensei ...
What is the brand name of your karate gi? 😊
Nice
The knife hand is better employed as a strike as opposed to a block. It is also better employed when the palm is facing downward.
I blocked a guys arm once with knife hand block ,and broke his arm ,so basically I blocked him and striked him at same time .
@@John-ob7dhexactly. Blocks are never just blocks, really.

It’s Hirota I’m not sure if it’s accessible in Italy
Hi Mario. Try this site: www.kuroobiya.com/shop/
I live in Australia and I got my Hirota from that company.
I'm watching this before my exams 😅 I'm quite nervous
Me too.
Turning to green!
Oh!! I'm yellow belt now
Which karate style is this?
Is it Kyokushin karate
Pafect
How would you break down shuto uke in neko ashi dachi? We usually do that strike in that stance as well as sanchi dachi.
What stance are you using? I'm very new to karate, so forgive me if it seems obvious. Front stance? L-stance? Is it L-stance?
Oh, back stance. Hel-lo!! ☺️
