The final will look like these heats . Richardson and Gabby will battle and the third spot will be heavily contested between 2 / 3 ladies . I don’t foresee any surprises .
Meanwhile Sydney McLoughlin jogged a 22s flat 200m a couple weeks ago and is not even in the event or the 400m flat even though she has the worlds FASTEST time in the 400m --> Shakes head... WTH is wrong with her? All she has to do is essentially show up, jog a 400m and 200m and she will get to the Olympic finals in both events yet she never entered. Ok, she will lose to Shicarri Richardson in the 200m for silver but WHY would she not enter the 400m flat? Just showing up and jogging it will get to the finals which is the day after 400m hurdles.
@madman1rug I'm basing my opinion on their recent performances. They just posted the same time in the first round, and Steiner looked like she was struggling more. I love Abby but I don't know if she's 100% back from her surgery. Like I said the 3rd spot is up for grabs imho. I wouldn't be at least a bit surprised if Abby makes the team.

There's a standing joke about Donald Trump gewtting deferrments from serving in Vietnam because he had "bone spurs". Bone spurs is not some debilitating condition, it's a nuisance that in worse case scenarios can cause plantar facitis. Mnay athletes and people function with bone spurs. Steiner didn't sustant any bone break nor soft tissue injury i.e. ACL tear, ligament/tendon damage of that sort. Bone spurs are treated by them being sanded down. It's an outpatient procedure with a recovery rate of a few weeks to a couple of months, and that part is the result of the inscisions made. Stop using her repaired condition as an excuse for her mediocrity.

Last night it was incomplete starting abruptly with many heats not featured at all and then cut short by the news. WTH??!!

They take they top 6 in the prelims. Each heat only had 6 people or less bc of the scratches so they all advance. The semifinals is different. They only take the top 2 in each heat. Then the next 2 times
It will be interesting to see if Richardson does a 2nd cycle because of the Gap between Trials and the Olympics? I think she will because if she doesnt get a 'refresher' she will be much slower maybe still breaking 11 sec but high 10s like 10.95 and such. Gabby also and very much so the Jamaican team. Thats why the large ebb and flow gap and inconsistency in times beginning and end of season to the Worlds.2022 Richardson didnt juice or timed it all wrong.2023 she started slow timing her cycle right before the World's. It's wise to only do one a year or risk getting caught! Afyer she won the World's she got slower and slower in each meet as the season progressed. Theres a reason for that obviously. She started off 2024 with two 23+ second 200s very slow. She just ran a 21.99 here and a 10.7? For the 100. Olympics is how far away? A month? She will at least do a baby cycle a couple weeks prior to tge Olympics to ensure a Midrange 10 sec 100. Thats my opinion anyhow and an educated one.
