Yea, like the Abom I found their basic form too useful to actually take the risk of transformation tbh. That's why the Sisters is the best transformation class.
Yes! This was confusing and hilarious the first time I saw it and is not something well-explained through tool tips, but "Can't be Guarded" is a debuff that, somehow, seems to fool the A.I. at times, but is very much the way the Shieldbreaker's "Puncture" ability.
A great Stress healer right here. I was lucky enough to get a random Lamia in the Stagecoach super-early, and she's how I'm able to keep my Thrall or Abomination from going off the deep end.
The Lamia is my favorite custom class. She's has an overall great package of graphic design, sound effects, animations and lore. It's much appreciated to have another capable healer bringing relief from the existing vestal/occultist mantra. Her skill set goes very well with the basic flow of battle in DD which is nuking the backliners, then stabilizing the fight and finally recovering with heals and stress heals. So you will often transform at the onset of a fight to assassinate a high priority target, then use her heightened speed to get off a quick stun or blight plus retreat and finally heal the party back up from the back.
I just downloaded all of Marvin seo’s class and trinket mods and I’m enjoying it a lot. My first attempt on a new save with the Sisters was really bad (she stresses everyone out) but I managed. But the Lamia carried the next dungeon, with heals and stress heals. I love just experimenting with new and unique classes and team comps. Great video
Lamia is my first mod and still my only mod for now.. She is incredible and after using her for a while, I gain more interest to understand her, and I come upon this video.. really helpful and amazing review of Lamia! I shall check-out more of your vids for other mod class references later on! Thanks for this wonderful review
hey, I've just discovered your channel and I absolutely love it! With the overabundance of great mods for DD, we really need some review over them. On topic: Lamia is my favourite class. Not because she is sexy (in both forms), not because of the amazing artstyle that perfectly fits DD, but because she is a healer of stress and health in one package (and also has best stun in the game). This allows to finally forget almost obligatory Vestal and Jester in the Endless, and go for a different party comp. Heart bless Marvin, and his work, and you for highlighting it!
Lamian with Junias Head puts out solid 10 heals every single round, like a machine. If the vestal didn't have her value heal for everyone, I'd never use her. She is like a reliable mid roll occultist heal. Lamia is so good, who doesn't want a jester equivalent stress heal before trinkets? Who doesn't want dodge and crit debuff? I wouldn't call her broken, because she doesn't do abomination damage without a party to set her up and she doesn't have true independence like Abom. Amazing class, she was my main healer till week 80 of my current file.
@@vitaliitomas8121 yeah I have no idea what that means. Like I get people like monster girls but I don’t get know of any fetishes called specifically Lamia
now i just want to do a dungeon run with every possible transformation classes, modded and non-modded it'll be like: - werewolf - abomination - lamia - the sisters
I just realized the combo potential of Slither with a Plague Doc, since they can both stun and blight. Apply both with PD, pop snake, slither, +150% damage. Stack some crit, and that'll be tearing apart even the toughest enemies, and taking chunks out of bosses.
Holy cow man! You're really awesome breaking down the abilities and making some strats, also the content creater is a massive beast, he made the lore, the abilities, the art soooo awesome!
Lamia is a fantastic class, I almost view it as essential for the basegame. Having a 2nd primary healer other than Vestal is huge and it doesn't invalidate Vestal.
I love the fawn/lamia combo. I also combo her with a shrapnel frequently. Really, any time I want a sniper or artillery type in the back ranks, I want a lamia.
The Plague Doctor also does that. She is also the only character that can remove diseases from her companions AND herself (Leeches and The Cure, respectively)
She's awesome! I'm wondering: do you have a text dump or something for all the Lamia's lines? I ask because someone else who played with this mod named a Lamia character after me (and even noted as he was playing that some of her lines sound like things I say), and I'm now wondering how similar she and I really are. I know, it's kinda weird, but I'm asking anyway.
Frankly i tried like a dozen new characters, so far lamia is the only one that was powerful enough and unique enough that i kept for more than one run.
Very tricky class. She doesn't have a strong heal like Vestral and Occultist or strong stress heal like Jester. She shuffle a lot when she's on Gorgon mode and can disrupt your formation. My advice tip is pairing her with Shieldbreaker, Plaguedoctor and Vestral. Shieldbreaker can aoe blight with impale so Lamia will have option between picking off stress dealer with plus dmg against blighted enemy, disrupt enemy line with aoe stun or add more blight on enemy front line. Plaguedocter can add more blight on back row or front, buff dmg to Shielbreaker and Lamia or add more stunt to enemy. Vestral is for emergency stunt to stress dealer and healing. I use this team and they literally MELT fishfolk and undead like no tomorrow. Problem is this team didn't have any stress maganging skill and must rely on killing or stunning stress dealer before the can freaking out your teammate. And like I said before Lamia human mode didn't have enought stress heal for all of your team.
Any chance you might do one of these for the Ruler, Overlord, Arch-Devil, and Heir classes? And I'm not referring to "The Rightful Heir", there's another Heir class that functions as a Healer, Buffer, and/or Bleed-inflicting DPS who also has access to the Antiquarian's "Protect Me!" ability. If only to get your overall thoughts on the classes, because I'm admittedly curious. Granted, I'm well aware that some, if not all of those four Mod Classes might be overpowered (the first 3 are based on anime characters after all, with Ruler being Jeanne d'Arc from the Fate Apocrypha anime and Grand Order game, while both the Overlord and Arch-Devil come from the Overlord anime) to some degree, though I feel like the Heir is the one that is least likely to be "overpowered" compared to the other 3. If I had to rank the four by how potentially OP they are, I'd probably rank The Heir as the least so, Ruler being next, followed by Arch-Devil, and then Overlord (though I'd argue the Overlord and Arch-Devil could potentially be interchangeable).
Not tried any of the character mods yet. I was not even aware there were any until recently as took a break from the game for a few years. at this rate I'll never finish it. ha ha.
combine her with the keeper and the voivode and you got one hell of a low light team. lamia uses her 3 man stun to set up the keepers aoe that always crits on stunned enemies. plus the keeper and the voivode benefit from being stressed out and can manage their own stress pretty well
One thing I would add to your descriptions: many (all?) of Marvin's class mods include characters with skills that add debuffs to the characters themselves during combat or camping. Many of the base game characters have these as well, but some of them can also remove those debuffs using herbs. Can any of Marvin's class skill debuffs also use herbs to remove the debuffs? answer: yes. but you should probably detail which and how for each class. would be good info to have included I think.
Ehh, doesn't seem too thematically appropriate, unlike the abomination, she's ACTUALLY a monster masquerading as a human, What are her motivations for wanting to live amongst humans? why do the other heroes accept her presence? will my crusaders butcher her while she sleeps? xD
"She will absolutely stress out the rest of your party" -- Not if she never snakes my boy lol
Yea, like the Abom I found their basic form too useful to actually take the risk of transformation tbh. That's why the Sisters is the best transformation class.
Lamia: "Time to pop snake!"
Highwayman: *zip*
Lamia: "NOT THAT SNAKE!"
"Quirk acquired: deviant tastes"
Lamia: want a bj? *showing her lamia form
Technically lamia's eat children.
Also I wish abominations weren't stressed out, by other abominations or other transforming classes
they probably don't do that for gameplay reasons
That'd be kinda crazy, 2 aboms, a lamia and a duchess, none stressing anyone out? Wild
“I transform into a hideous werewolf yes, but she turns into a giant snake thingy, and that’s just going to far...”
-Abomination, probably
Surely it would be plenty stressful to see the unnatural thing you are in third person. To know the power that they have but not be in control.
@@EcclesiastesLiker-py5ts "Oh. THAT'S why people are afraid of me"
My lamia died to the thing from the stars
RIP MileyCyrus
lmfao im cackling at the name because im hearing best of both worlds playing when she is in your team
The Shieldbreaker must hate her, lol.
She even applies horror, just like the Viet flashbacks of SB
Irony their gears sync pefectly togther.
I love how sassy she looks with that mirror
Lamia, Voivode, Abomination and Oceanborn for the ultimate monster party.
The interesting thing with Allure is the Can't be Guarded effect, a monster basically wasted its turn trying to guard his friend and it didn't work.
Yes! This was confusing and hilarious the first time I saw it and is not something well-explained through tool tips, but "Can't be Guarded" is a debuff that, somehow, seems to fool the A.I. at times, but is very much the way the Shieldbreaker's "Puncture" ability.

I am surprised that you skipped her comic.
Oof. Yeah. This was early on in the series and I just didn't think to include them yet. Wish I had. :)
Please link the comic

Why "snake" it's clearly medusa inspired, I love this char well every one of marvin really. Love the idea of "lamprey's kiss" so original...

Nice one. Will be waiting for more to come.
p.s. In vanila Graverobber also can cure diseases.
Thanks very much! -- Ah yes, thanks for the reminder! I neglected to mention the GR or classes which can remove their own diseases, like the Flag. :)
The Plague Doctor also does that. She is also the only character that can remove diseases from her companions AND herself (Leeches and The Cure, respectively)
Eduardo Díaz The Grave Robber's snuff box removes diseases from both her and a single ally too.
Lamia - Still would.
"Take a second stress healer with an offensive Lamia"
So... 2 Lamia?
I can't believe I just discovered this video now ! The lamia seems greatt

There are a lot of bad mods out there tbh it’s crazy. All of marvins seem to be useful in someway tbh
This class is so strong with the fawn

Why did Marvin Seo nerf the Stress Healing buff from the Lamia? I felt she was perfectly fine with it.

Maybe the comic will give a hint.
