I’m going to join the recommendations for Hiss’s collab with Colaps, River, and Alexinho, a song called If Only. It’s just as much a jam as the Beatpella House, and I’ll push for more views of Hiss’s work whenever possible. Love his work. The other thing Hiss has proved to be amazing at is taking other beatboxer’s work and remixing it. I’ve heard him do it with River, Stitch, Vocodah, FootboxG, and more. He’s got such an ear for it, it’s beautiful.
2:01 That sound is called a slizzer roll, I think I'm right: your tongue is pressed really tight against the roof of your mouth, but the tip is a bit loose, so it can oscillate against the roof of your mouth.
If you liked this style of percussive-intensive crew beatboxing I hope Sarukani is on your radar: they came in second in gbb2021 but pretty damn close second and they've only improved since then Or if you're on a Hiss binge he did another colab with the boys from france (Alexhino, River and Colaps) called 'If only' and that on a melodic level just hits on an unbelievable level too but that's far more melodic than this just way more about vocal harmonies and counterpoints.
