So gross. My mother used to say I flirted with her boyfriends MC biker friends when I was as young as 7! They would say all kinds of inappropriate things about me/ around me & my mother normalized it. As an adult with children now I can't even fathom talking about my kids that way. So sick

Her and those men would say things like "she has a crush on you, she's flirting with you" or when I was a little older (only 9 or 10) "she wants to be your old lady in a few years". Luckily nothing too awful in front of me but enough to make a little girl feel embarrassed and not great. When I would say its not true she would do the "it must be true that's why your upset" bs. The worst I heard was she like the motorcycle between her legs which at that age you don't know what that means. It's just gross. These where gross stereotypical old bikers. The guy she dated and some of these guys specifically had photos shown on a&e Gangland.

When your a kid watching all of these sitcoms, The life of a child star seems like some sort of dream.

I feel like you need to create a main website and have a section devoted to child abuse in the entertainment industry. So far you have collected and shown us the testimonies of Bella, Jeanette, Alyson, Demi, Amanda, and sooo many other stories about Dan Schneider, Drake Bell, the Sprouse twins, etc. I really feel like if people see ALL these stories in the same place lined out like a stack of receipts... it could make a big splash. People would be saying your name along side Ronan Farrow.

Do not hand your children over to these people, parents. No matter how beautiful and talented and mature your child is, acting is no life for them.

I wouldn’t necessarily say, acting itself isn’t worth it I would say the entertainment industry isn’t worth it. If a kid wants to be an actor or a parent wants their kid to be an actor regardless of whether it’s the kid or parent who chooses it, the kid could get signed up for some thing in the nature of community theater. Of course, that would have to wait until the kid passes a certain age because even that can come with its own pressures that will be too much for a kid if they’re too young.
There should not be a statute of limitations when it comes to sexual child abuse. That family “friend” should be prosecuted and punished. Makes me so angry to hear how common this scenario is. We need to protect children.
I think it depends on the state. Because how were all those women that Bill Cosby raped during the 1980's come forward 30 years later, they had a trial, and Bill served prison time? And how did Harvey Weinstein get jail time just now for the girls/women he sexually abused during the 1990's?
I genuinely feel bad for her. I can't even imagine at 10 yrs old being accused of being 'flirty' with a man probably 3-4 times her age. How awkward!!! Like wtf was on his mind?? Creep.

Her early experiences with that ‘close family friend’ is so sad. I listened to her talk about it and all those mixed messages to a little girl makes me question the integrity of her parents. Was she just a meal ticket to them? If she really wants to ‘own it’ sue the ish out of them. They had to know what this ‘friend’ was doing to her, and if they didn’t, they were the very definition of neglect. Either way, she ended up a very damaged little girl through no fault of her own.

Well think about this, Bella came from a poor family with only her mother as her support system and Disney knew that. Meanwhile Zendaya had very supportive mother and father who protected her. You will never hear anything from Zendaya, it’s very important to have a safe support system as a child actor or else you will get taken advantage of.

Every child actor deserves to have good parents or guardians who cares about their well-being and actually knows what boundaries to set, where their kids can be actors but they also know how to keep those kids out of danger with sexual predators.

I remember being blocked on Bella’s Facebook when she was a minor cause I thought she was showing way too much skin and I was looking out for her. I found it strange that the perverted comments from older men were kept up though. I came to find out at the time since she was underage it was her mother that was moderating her page. I’m not sure how much of that is true though.
These always make me so happy that I decided not to take my oldest son to LA!! Disney wanted him to fly out and do a third audition for the “higher ups”. Yes, we were going to and we were excited!! But my husband and I talked about it and decided not to. I got emails asking why we didn’t come and blah, blah, blah, but I never responded and just left it at that. I didn’t want to expose my son to that. I stand by our decision and am GLAD AF that we didn’t do it!!! 🙌

I was 10 years old and my friend and I was playing with my friends dad. Her mom saw me touch his head and then started accusing me of trying seduce her husband, then very soon after we weren’t friends anymore, and I didn’t understand until years later when mom told me. People are so sick in the head. 😮😡😡 Like children don’t have no clue about any kind of sexuality and they not supposed to. Sex is for a fully grown pair of mature men and women legally married to each other. Simply beyond me how any kind of deranged person could accuse a child of sexual abuse. i met bella at disney world when she was still on disney and she was the sweetest celebrity (only celeb i ever met lol). a few ppl have came out and said that she wasn't "sweet" but the fact that she stopped to chat with me and take a photo while her family/friends were waiting, it warmed my heart. i felt like i was intruding but i got so emotional seeing her in person that i wanted to chat and say that she's my favorite disney star. i did ask her after we had a nice chat if i could take a photo and she said yes. i didn't post the photo until after i got home that night because i didn't want people to invade her privacy even though i felt like i did, but she was happy to chat with me so it made me smile more.
it breaks my heart to see how disney and everyone around her treated her. she didn't deserve any of that. i send my prayers to her and i hope she's healed and been able to move on. i wish her nothing but the best in life, she deserves to be happy. i hope she's surrounded around people who truly care and love her.

To comment on the child star education issue: only CA and NY have laws ensuring legit access to education for child performers. And those laws only apply to non-homeschooled residents of those states (I.e. if Bella was attending school in Florida, and filming anywhere else- or was doing a homeschool program-production does not have to provide teachers/tutors for her AT ALL). Even then, if a production decides to just not comply, someone has to report it to the state (and almost no child actor or their parent would do that for fear of being fired/blacklisted), and the penalty is just a trivial amount of money anyway.
So, best case scenario, for each DAY of missed school, kids must receive 3 HOURS of education time, but that time can be broken down into blocks as small as 20 MINUTES in between scenes. This happens ALL THE TIME. A PA standing at the door waiting for the exact moment 20 mins are up to pull the kid to set. Very little is really being learned in these 20 minutes while hair and makeup are also touching them up and they’re worried/thinking about their next scene. I would put money on the fact the only reason Bella barely knows how to read is bc it was required for her job.
And all of this is BEFORE their agents start pushing them to just get their GED and/or get emancipated in order to be able to work longer hours with no education requirement (so they are “cheaper” to hire & available for more roles bc production won’t have to hire a teacher or worry about child labor laws).
*The entertainment industry is educationally abusive to children. Period.*
"These ones" are obsessed with controlling their fellow human beings. Their message, for example concerning the "bikini on the beach-theme" is: You don't decide when you're sexy, we do. If you are privat on the beach we have no control over your sexyness, so you're not allowed. On the red carpet we have control over you and that's where you have to be sexy. I know that sounds completely absurd to us healthy people, but "these ones" tick completely differently than we do
There’s a possibility at 10 she may had been sort of flirting inappropriately and not even knowing/realizing if she was SAd (that was my first thought if she may had been flirty) when kids are sexualized early in, they believe that’s their purpose and worth. That’s what they have to offer. So I’d not be surprised if she came off flirty, If there’s thays abuse going on. She knew (possibly) attention was gotten that way, obviously at no fault of her own, and not saying she was bad for it in any way. But if she was abused, she may had been expected to be flirty w the abuser. Which would mean another man trying to set her apart from others, she might think that’s a way. Again no fault of hers. The comment from that director seems like was fallen short on it setting alarm bells, IF she was “flirty” something might be deeper going on. So sad and it’s so that disgusting people do this to innocent children. It seems she’s on a positive road to recovery tho

I shared one of your stories and was restricted 🚫 on all of my facebook accounts and messenger accounts and more I had travelled to the Mainland from the Sunshine Coast in Canada 🇨🇦 to see family for Christmas and found that I couldn’t connect with anyone unless I had a cell number and the sad part is that the restriction was not accurate and nobody to answer for the crappy treatment

I was driving the other day and a guy motioned me to roll down my window to say “youre boyfriend shouldn’t let you out of the house looking that good.” I told him i was married and instead of backing off, he said “your husband obvi doesnt love you enough if he lets you out of the house looking like that - there are dangerous men out here.” I was on my way to a job interview after losing my job and being unemployed for 6 months. Thanks to that dude for throwing me off and not getting it. (I did get a job later on)
This shows how a smart solid foundation of a family is required for success look at Zendaya and Bella's present. Even many studies will support that
I’m a 2002 kid & watching Bella grow up in Disney with her shows & the effect that it took while she was just trying to be a child /teenager ! I knew the pain she was going though we saw her in the darkest moments . So sad she had to go though that & how she was abuse by people she grew up with
This sad thing is also when they are abused at such a young age while trying to work such a stressful job, they grow up and feel like they have to oversexualize themselves to be accepted or gain their sexuality back.
I like Bella such an honest brave young woman .
Her parents need to be exposed and shamed
The industry is full of monsters who destroy these poor kids. Im team Bella and anyone else who isn’t afraid to share their experiences and expose the industry.
