Hey Robert. Yessir, it's working perfectly. One more video to finish and upload, on that DIY air cooler/dryer thingy testing.

I've had the same unit for 25 years. Only thing is the loud noise will wake up my house when it kicks in at 3am! It's in my basement below the main floor of my house. Looking for a nice vertical 60 gallon Oiled compressor.

Hey Ken; I have a larger 5hp 60 gal oiled compressor in my other shop, Charge Air by DeVilbis. It is remarkably quieter, with more cfm. I do not have an air cooler/dryer on it, yet, but that's on my bucket list. Water vapor coming out of it right now makes it unusable for paint, but good for power tools if I keep them oiled up. I'm seriously considering installing a condenser to get that water vapor issue under control.

If I were working in the basement I'd build an outdoor compressor shack and plumb a pex line into the basement. Quincey makes some quiet compressors. All about reducing the pump RPM. 240v is the way to go. I don't know how many RPM these Craftsman machines run... but it's all of them.

14:25 I'll say this. You tightened the crankshaft/counter weight pinch bolt... But you assumed the rod bearing pinch bolt was tight from the factory.... We all know about assumptions...
I'll add one more lessons learned moment. You struggled to identify the head orientation every time. In the future give yourself a witness mark. Could be as simple as a line down the side with a sharpie, or paint pen, or a scratch with a screw driver, dimples with punch. Add the witness mark before disassembly. I constantly leave myself bread crumbs so I can get out of my self created situations.

Hey Failure: Thank you for visiting my little channel. Yeah, I should have put witness marks in so I didn't have to figure it out, after doing it backwards. But seeing how the reed valves work, it made sense after I did it backwards. On the rod pinch bolt, this new rod did not have one. Different design, where the bearing is pressed into the rod. I think that must be why there was a block of metal cast into the rod near the piston, so it would weigh the same as the old rod with the pinch bolt bosses, and equal the counterbalance.
