New first time dad here. I spent 45 minutes reading the installation guide and still confused!!! Your video was amazing and so easy to follow along, I installed it while watching this video in less than 15 minutes and learnt so much more than the guide. Thank you so very much!!!
First time viewer of this Chanel. Wow this video was so helpful. We will use your video on how to strap the baby next in preparation of our newborn coming home after Christmas 2024 (we hope not before but you never know! Lol). Thank you for the high quality and straight forward information. Excellent video.
Thank you! Your video was very helpful. The hardest part for us was definitely getting the rigid anchors to latch inside the seat. Wow we had to use a lot of force, they seem like they barely reach.
For seatbelt-only installation, how do you adjust the recline of the seat for different aged babies? Traveling this week with our three-month-old and will be leaving the base at home.
Hi thank you for the great video. If theres method #4 (European belt route method), do I even need to buy the base? What is the benefit of having the base (methods 1-3) in comparison to method #4?
The base comes with the seat already. But if you'll be using a 2nd vehicle, you can choose to install it without the base if you'd like to save money instead of buying a 2nd base. Benefit of the base is just convenience
Without middle seat anchors, what’s safer, a seat belt only installation in the middle seat or a latch and seat belt installation in a side seat? I feel with seat belt only there’s more side to side movement, but in the middle seat the baby is more protected from side collisions?
Wherever you can get a tight installation is the best spot! Usually, this seat is easy to install with either method, but the rigid lower anchors are the easiest method.
we are watching your infant course and just tried to install the car seat. we used the base with lower rigid achors. Once we added the carseat on top the blue line was not completely level with the floor with the recline in position 1 and it was even more slanted in position 2. we also are using the rebound bar. it did look similar to how yours looked in the video, which was pretty level but slightly slanted. let me know if this needs to be troubleshooted more. thank you
I watched this video hoping to get advice on how to achieve leveling on the blue line (mine is installed with the rigid latches in a new Yukon xl & I don’t feel like it’s level). It wasn’t covered but is the info somewhere else? Great video otherwise.
First time mom and having trouble figuring out what side the car seat should be installed for a newborn, behind passenger or driver side seat? Is there a rule for this or is it preference?
One of the little pop ups on the video said if your babe can support its neck or head before its 20 lbs I believe but if you rewatch somewhere in the beginning theres a popup on the screen that says it
I have a car that seems so have angled back seats (so the top Of the car seat seems higher than it should), I’ve noticed that the car seat seems to have a more of an incline even in position 1, is this something I’m doing wrong?
I wish I had rigid lower anchor connectors on my infant seat base! I have the Safety first onboard and I struggle so much with loosening the lower anchor connector strap to take the base out of the car!

It can be difficult to access the lower anchors in some vehicles, unfortunately.
Super helpful video as a grandma viewing.
Glad to hear that!
Thank you this perfect and what I was looking for

Can the seat be installed without the base ?
This video was super helpful. Thanks for posting this !
Yes! That method is in this video starting around 15 minutes in
For seatbelt-only installation, how do you adjust the recline of the seat for different aged babies? Traveling this week with our three-month-old and will be leaving the base at home.
There is only one allowed recline for the baseless installation. There is a line on the side of the seat that must be level with the ground
Thanks a lot, very helpful!
Glad it helped!
Great video. Thank you!
You are welcome!
This video was super helpful!
Can the seat in front of the car seat be pulled back and touching the car seat?
It can lightly touch it

Oh ok thanks!
Does the Nuna PIPA Relx base install in the same way?
This is the Relx base
@@safeintheseat thanks!!

The blue line on the car seat is only for the installation without the base
thanks so much!!@@safeintheseat
Very well in depth
Thanks!

The blue line on the side is only for the baseless installation.
When using the base-- Does the seatbelt need to be locked off or is this a true lock off in the seat? Thanks!
The base has a true lock-off so you don't need to lock the seat belt!
First time mom and having trouble figuring out what side the car seat should be installed for a newborn, behind passenger or driver side seat? Is there a rule for this or is it preference?
Wherever works best for you and you get a tight installation is fine!
Good video thanks 🙏
Thanks for watching
If you use the rigid lower anchors can you also use the seatbelt too - or should it just be one or the other?
You don't need to use both. But Nuna allows it with this seat. There is no safety difference.
What if the load leg fully extended doesn’t hit the floor? I have it secured to the seat anchors but the load leg doesn’t hit the floor.
That's very surprising. If it doesn't touch the floor, then you cannot use it.
When do I move from position 1 to position 2 for the incline? I know when to jump to 3&4 but is there a weight to move from 1-2?
One of the little pop ups on the video said if your babe can support its neck or head before its 20 lbs I believe but if you rewatch somewhere in the beginning theres a popup on the screen that says it
Positions 1 and 2 are for up to 20 pounds. I would leave on the most reclined position until you can't anymore due to weight
I think the handle does need to be in the upper position in Canada. I have this seat, and I’m pretty sure that’s what I’ve read.
Canada does not have this version of the Nuna Pipa. The Canadian Nuna Pipa does require the handle to be up
Question… I was told Nuna’s preferred method of install is a seatbelt but you say to use anchors instead of we have them?
For Nuna's convertible car seats, the seat belt is the preferred method. For the infant seats, the rigid lower anchors are the preferred method
I have a car that seems so have angled back seats (so the top
Of the car seat seems higher than it should), I’ve noticed that the car seat seems to have a more of an incline even in position 1, is this something I’m doing wrong?
Almost all cars have sloped vehicle seats. Recline 1 is likely suitable for the newborn as long as the car seat is installed properly
So helpful!
Glad you think so!
I wish I had rigid lower anchor connectors on my infant seat base! I have the Safety first onboard and I struggle so much with loosening the lower anchor connector strap to take the base out of the car!
It's much easier to use the seat belt with that base if you are taking it out of the vehicle frequently.
I thought middle seat is safest because of side airbags? Genuine question, ftm here
Nope. Side air bags actually improve the safety of the outboard seats. They are not dangerous to be next to car seats.
Any promo codes
Nope. We check every day for sales though. We keep that here: safeintheseat.com/sits-recommended-car-seats/
Very helpful. Thank you.
