The detective just says "ow" and continues his verse. I think Connor missed his true calling. Especially since rapping case details in public is generally not recommended.

Jesus, the fucking rhyme scheme from 0:58 to 1:00 He triplet-rhymes: now for me, balcony, ow did he, round at me, how could he, and then opens the n ext line with "now we're really", while ending that line with the first in the next multi-syllable rhyme scheme. All the fucking while throwing in little internal rhymes, like the little "ow" callbacks in stepping out, and penthouse, and ding/thing. It's just a REALLY dense flow. Super duper dope. Oh, and oh yeah, telling a compelling story in the process.

Robotic Gaming Heavy Rain fell apart near the end because in order to give you a twist ending, the game straight up lies to you to remove suspicion from the guy who did it (it doesn't mislead you or make it a case of unreliable narration. The bad guy asks a question IN HIS HEAD that he already knows the answer to because he IS the bad guy, and thus knows exactly what happened to Manfred. Why? Because Cage is a hack who doesn't know how to trick you like a decent writer.) Beyond wasn't even a game. It's an incomprehensible movie that pauses itself constantly to try to keep your attention. You can literally fail through that ENTIRE game without suffering any actual consequences because Cage has a story he wants to tell, but he's too pretentious to use failstates to keep you on the linear path he needs you to follow, so he can't have any actual gameplay either. Instead, he taunts you with choice only for it to become perfectly clear that it's an illusion and that nothing you do has real impact on the greater story. Fail all the QuickTime events? Either you don't progress, or you have something slightly worse happen to you that ends up not mattering because the rest of the sequence plays out as normal. Even in universe, Jodie is such a fucking Mary Sue that it's impossible to feel any actual fucking tension because it's established that Aiden will NOT let her die, and he's so ungodly overpowered that he can protect her from just about anything. Also, side note, Cage has this extremely creepy tendency to put his female characters into harm's way, especially in sexual ways, to create an opportunity to victimize them. Madison literally does nothing but get attacked and abused or play nurse to Ethan, one time of which she was nearly raped. When everyone has their fight with the Origami Killer at the end, guess who doesn't get to kill him themselves, but is saved by the potential love interest? Jodie has TWO attempted rapes, and she's constantly turned into a victim to try to force you to sympathize with her (another one of those Mary Sue traits of hers, along with the whole "just want to be normal" thing and the already established overpowered Stand of hers), which of course fails because the plot is so fucking incomprehensible that you legitimately have no idea what the fuck is going on. TL:DR David Cage is a fucking hack, and there's a reason he tells people not to replay his games.
