@@exeterrider well after seeing your piece I'm possibly going to buy the Benelli within next 10 days. Hi, thanks yes the rubber reduces the vibes not that there is much anyway. It's a good bike but as I say the peg mounting bars are too thin, not a deal breaker but one to be aware of. Let me know if you buy one 👍
@@exeterrider During your review, you remarked upon the engine's smoothness & lack of vibration. You then said that it doesn't have the long stroke of the classic 500. Actually, it does. Exactly! Both engines share an identical 90 mm stroke. Interestingly, the RE 350, & 500 share the same stroke, & the 350 was always the sweeter engine because of its smaller bore. Apparently the 373 Benelli doesn't vibrate until 7,000 rpm. An Enfield would disintegrate if it could even reach that engine speed. They are delivering me a new 125 Bullit Bluroc in black and gold Wednesday coming. I'm looking at the Bullit Bluroc 250 or the Benelli 400 Imperiale in the next few months. Yes, they are a good lot down there @ CMS.
Yes but I dont think thats too bad all things considered. I dont think they could make a strong 400 under 170 anyway do you think? 21 HP on this one does do quite well at low revs.
@@exeterrider i know the full torq is around 4500rpm so for a motorbike that is full torq at low revs which will make riding more confortable. I have never tested one thow! We have guzzi 750 with a lot more engine weight at 180kg...ok, double the price but still...with a little more effort in materials they could at least made it 20kg lighter ( look at yamaha sr400). I think it doesnt make sense to have a low displacement motorbike heavy. They are supposed to be practical, and lightweight.
@@farmoboy83 Yeap I see what you mean. Not using alloys makes a difference too although that would have a cost implication. I would also say that this one was so light on top - strangely it could have done a bit more weight on top.
@farmoboy83 Weight only effects acceleration, not top speed, which is down to wind resistance. But, honestly, if acceleration is your thing, you wouldn't be in the market for a 20 bhp long stroke slow revving air cooled single in the first place! The main reason for the excess weight, is that everything is metal, not plastic. It's a substantial machine. I like that personally, as I don't like plastic bits on bikes.
Yea I think everyone thinks that. All I can say is it does feel very good, the engine is sweet, and from my research of the 502trk and other 125 benellis their honesty isn't much wrong with them. Used to be a parts issue in other country's but that seems but in the UK its all good 👍🇬🇧 honestly there is alot to be said for this brand considering the price of the bikes they are Very good!

Hi Glen, that's a fair comment and I would have agreed 15 years ago. Fact is the rest of the benelli range has a very good track record such as the bn 125, ( I know of a lady with zero issues on 14k miles) the 502range also has a good record and it's a proven engine, the tnt 125 also has a good record. I read also concerned in the beginning but after digging around I can't find people having many issues. Don't forget the BMW 850gs engines, and some ktm parts are also made in China. I'm now in a position for a second bike and the 500 would be great, thinking sidecars etc down the line lol.
I would be interested to find out about the bs6 350. My local shop has just received a second hand 500 in chrome which is why I was asking. Will need to speak to them about pricing I suppose...
@@exeterrider New RE 350!?
Are they bringing to the UK?✌️
Great video :) Just wanted to ask if this would be a good beginner bike?
Yes very good indeed. One of the best beginner bikes retro style for A2 licence 👍👌
Really good review I've Just met a guy who bought a new one in cork ireland told me exactly what you said here
Ahh thats good William, thanks for the feedback👍🍻
They are delivering me a new 125 Bullit Bluroc in black and gold Wednesday coming. I'm looking at the Bullit Bluroc 250 or the Benelli 400 Imperiale in the next few months. Yes, they are a good lot down there @ CMS.
Great mate, yes I like CMS. 👍
I believe that the footrests are rubber mounted to reduce vibration
Yea they are, but the support bar for the foot rests is very thin.
@@exeterrider Mmm guess you can't have everything 🤣
😂👍🍻
Well done, to me it looks like a big Suzuki ts 250, I like it keep up the good work.
Thanks mate, yes it does look a bit like the suzuki to an extent.
Simply love that bike! But 200kg for 20hp...
I like it just wonder how it will last ? but for the price it’s a tempting 👍
Seriously looking at one of these while my other two go in for total re-furbs, prefer to have one with the Italian black leather panniers on a black imperiale, I reckon a call to CMS is in order.
Ideal. Meteor could be in the running too?
@@exeterrider No not the meteor, I prefer the old and new R E classic.
it look less agriculture than the RE, with the exception of the interceptors.
Yes definately, Very much the same but at the same time they are totally different.
And now a year on the meteor 350
@@kevindarkstar it would be interesting to compare imperiale to new 350 classic from RE
The RE would win for me.
ordered the same colour, thanks for the review regard from the netherlands
Awesome, let me know when you get it 👍🍻

Superb, I am over the moon for you. Watching that makes me want to get back on one again! I woodsy I knew your language. Was it the stats you were running through? Stunning bike and thanks for letting me know.👍🍻🏍️
@@exeterrider in summary i'm telling the specs and me experience during the 200 miles i drove on it in one day :) the fuel consumption was about 20 miles on 1 liter. The tires are not so good (cheap brand) and the brakes are to soft in my opinion but maybe they get better after a few more miles. But most off all it is a superb bike, specially for touring through the landscape, it drives very predictable and it is fun to drive it. This is the first experience post i'm planning to make more after more miles
@@weltmeistertopas ahh yes, I mentioned about it feeling wallowey on the back end I felt. Be careful in the rain. Apologies I don't speak Dutch aswell. Typical English an that only knows one language! Even that is debatable! 😂👍🍻
Very nice review. I am between Benelli Imperiale 400 and Royal Enfield Classic 350. What is your opinion?
For sure . Royal Enfield rides better and parts are easier to get, list goes on really. When this was filmed the RE 350 range wasn't about.
I have the 350 meteor review coming on Sunday by the way 👍🍻
Looks very similar to the W800/650. The price suggests Asian manufacture ?
Yes China, its really good. All benellis are now made in China like some of the BMWs and KTMs. Its a good bike at a very good price.
I also did a review of the w800 check it out. Excellent finish and also a great looking bike.
Good review. Have you tried the SWM 440cc ? Wonder how it would compare.
Hi Gary, are they avaliable in the UK? I'd certinly like to try one if they approach me!
@@exeterrider Yes they are available there, however I don't live in UK so I can't say where their dealers are.
SWM Gran Turismo, Gran MIlano or Outlaw-500 are the models but they have slightly different setups, but same motor, just different styling, tyres, brakes, suspension setups.
@@garyk8285 intresting thanks gary
New brand in my country but I hear many good things about this particular model, especially handling. Guess I'll visit their dealer after the lockdown.
Hi, yes it's definitely worth a look. 👍😁🍻
Please comment on the enormous engine heat it produces.
I did mention it near the beginning saying "I've heard of people saying the engine gets hot, however I didn't feel that issue at all". Maybe because it was only about 8 degrees that day. It felt fine to me tbh.
@@exeterrider Many thanks, great review, love this bike.
I don't think the engine heat is a problem here in the UK or northern Europe, all the comments I've seen regarding that have come from India.
I've seen mixed reviews about this bike, is it assembled in China, India or UK?
China, not many have reviewed it in the UK. Its not perfect but it is a very good bike for the price. If it was 10k to buy then no but this is 3700 pounds on the road. And for that cost it's very good.
Long term maybe there could be issues but they have a good warrenty (2 years I think) is a good machine from what I tested that day knowing what I know. But yes it's not perfect. If you want that then you need to spend another 5k
@@exeterrider Sounds great. Actually I’m in China and one of my friends just bought this bike in light yellow color (hard to say, it's kind of between white and light yellow), I like it very much, I may get one as well. see his bike please ruclips.net/video/SKaLUibS69s/видео.html
Very cool stuff tanks.
No worries mate, thanks for watching. Consider the royal enfield classic 350👍
Have you ridden a Himalayan, and how does it compare? I would love to ride both back to back, being at an age where 3 figure speed is no longer a requirement, and good mpg is . Nice review.
I had meant to be riding the himilayan but then lock down occurred. So that will be coming up!
@@exeterrider , i shall keep my eyes peeled for that. I note the local Benelli dealer in Sweden is not showing the bike, so not sure it will be imported here. There is an Enfield dealer way down South, but they do not even have a demo bike! May need a trip to UK when the travel opens up.
3 years after, how was the bike? I'm really considering to get one. But I hear that Benelli bikes rust easily and so bad. Is that at all true?
It was good for its time but noe the Royal Enfield Meteor is a better option
Motorcycling on lake Exeter! Might need a boat on some days
Yeap it can get a bit puddly here!
Wow that’s cheap! I still prefer the Classic but there doesn’t seem to be much between them.
Another great review 👍🏼
Yeap it may still have the edge I agree although if money was tight...... Thanks for watching! 🤗🍻
I think it´s a winner, especially in a post covid world where expensive sports bikes may become hard to sell. I haven´t ridden my Moto Guzzi since I bought the Benelli last summer. The dealership in Granada was full of flashy Triumphs --- I bet they´re all still there. Serves them right, they were crap boutique not a real bike shop.
😂👍
I hope they do it in a 500cc sometime.
That would sell!
What's the actual top speed (by GPS) and what is the Mpg. Just sold my Benelli tnt125 and hope this is usable on the highway.
I dont know the top speed, A classic 350 may be worth a look as well
Might be a bit late but I've seen one do 80mph gps at an indicated 90mph.
I'd imagine they are similar to the hunter but rev a bit higher so will touch 80 on slightly downhill roads.
Looks a lot like Meteor 350 of RE. How does it fare with the competition?
It's not as good as the Royal Enfield for sure. When it first came out it was superb, but times have moved on now
In which way the Benelli isn't as good at the RE?
you got me intrested in modern classic is this bike top of the tree
Yeap they are lovely to ride. Royal Enfield are also great to ride 👍
Very nice. Yet another occasion where I curse my 6'4'' self with it's ridiculously long legs. Keep up the good work.
forgot to mention - Honda take note, Benelli knows where horn switches should be placed, any chance of your NC750X stylists copying them ?
@@ccooper8785 Good point!
I think you would be OK on this one though. It seems to handle all heights well.
Iv seen a guy 6,3 on another vid , didn't look bad
These are not restricted unlike the meteor etc
The Enfeilds are far better bikes though.
The finish looks too fussy to me,but would make a good base for customisation.
Fair comment. I think it's OK personnlly but yes there is alot going on there compared to other bikes in its category. 👍🍻
Would you have this or the 350 classic Enfield?.
350 enfeild everytime. This bike was out before the 350 RE came out 👍

Hi, I know what you said about the speedo giving prominence to kms, just wondered as the odo is digital, is that switchable?
Hi Gerry, I didnt notice when I had a quick flick through the odo, as with all odos - you need to own the bike to learn how to use it because they are all so different. Thanks for watching and sorry I can't answer your question more directly.
@@exeterrider Yanks use M P H also but they are unlikely to get them there
Is the f brake, throttle, and switch one assembly ?
Will they are the same as most bikes. Separate but fitted into one housing 👍🍻

i wonder if the tyres are tubeless and what make are they
I think they were perelli and yes I think they were tubeless 👍🍻
@@exeterrider thankyou very helpful
nice bike !!!
Sure is! 👍
I am skeptical...buy...or not buy?
Hi John, can't make that call for you. I am still a big classic 500 fan but this comes with alot less vibes, but dosent feel so authentic. My experience and research from Bennellis has proved to show they have been as reliable as any other bike, and at 3.7k it's a bargain. Long term I do t know but the rest of the benellis have been very good. At 3.7 I've kinda considered it myself. Let me know what you end up doing 👍🍻
I like this bike, but maybe it is an idea to make a same model as the Enfield Himalayan, but than with the Benelli Engine, I don´t like the Enfield Engine.
Is it Italian right?
Benelli is Italian, but now owned by the Chinese. 👍🍻
Nice bike but I wonder what it will give after a few years. After all it's a Chinese bike so the build quality might be a problem on the long term.
They have been OK from my research, but now the RE350 classic is on the scene since filming, the RE is a better bike 👍
Its made for and in india market..
Yes I think it will do well : )
One day It will be mine, oh yeah it will be mine...Wayne Campbell..
Set a time limit and shoot for it. It's closer than you think 😉
// WOW! SILVER! (Alternatively: BLACK / Dark Red met.)
Best BENELLI 2020! (sorry 752s :) )
So much choice this year with benelli👍🍻
If I had 1 I would alter the rear end, making it into a bobber.
Yea each to there own, there is alot you could do to this one . I would leave it as is I reckon because I quite like the retro style now. It's grown on me!
I want one
😊🍻👌
The only crap part are the generic Chinese switches. I liked the ones on 70s MZs
Say it as Leonchino (Leoncino)
this bike is made for India
If a person can not tell what gear to use by load and speed they should be in a rocker chair.
I agree!
@07:35 so you are more than 6 feet tall 😛
Yeap, I just look smaller on camera🎥📸😂
A beginners bike? 51yrs 6,2 height
Yes I think it would be OK. 👍🏍️🍻
Made in China I believe ? - sorry but that really puts me off, after a year or two of ownership the punter will realise why they are cheap !!
Fair comment but not much of a foundation. Thanks for your comment. I Respect it👍
@@exeterrider Hi fair comment, I am in my sixtys so maybe I am harking back to the 1970s and o-er those japanese bikes ! I suppose chinese bikes are getting better xx
