I'm curious how much this was? Altogether, how much did this cost? How much was the lot? How did you afford it? Would love a really honest video about how to financially manage building a house. Any loop holes you went through financially?

I'm watching all these house tour videos. I'm thinking about how much I want these houses and wishing I grew up with bigger and better things. But I'm grateful for what I have. At least I have room to myself and an okay house. It's not perfect and over the top but it's fine. And I'm okay with that.

They go into the basement. You can see the door leading to them when they show where the piano will go. And either Joel or Matt went up them :)

I'm really happy for them. I remember when they had their little place and they've always made the best of that. So to see them now and how far they've come, it's such a blessing.

I actually love the shelfs in the bathroom in the basement! Even though it doesn't match it looks really good together with the tile in the shower.

Just for an add on, right before you walk in to the shower in the master, on the tile wall, you should put a towel rod so you can hang your shower towel right there. It would be so much easier than having to walk all the way around the corner to get a towel while you are soaking wet. My parents did that in the house they built in Florida recently. It was actually done around the same time as this house :)

That's not true, they do clean it, and actually if you do a 30 minute clean every day then it doesn't get as messy, but if you leave it as a mess for a few days, then it gets really messy!
Yes! Need to clean right after you're done doing whatever.. can let the mess accumulate, otherwise it will be hell and take forever.

When your kids start school you should turn the first in your pantry to a family command center. The lower portion could be your desk and shelves for paperwork etc..

Growing up, we always called it in-door out-door carpeting. I always looked at it as keeping from bringing mudding muddy tracks outside. Lots of people would hose the carpet down when if it dirty. You might not want to spray water in your garage though!

IT MAKES SENCE the things you said about the bathroom mixed with the laundry room like when the kids come in through the garage and they have dirt or snow on their boots or something and if they need to go to the bathroom they can do that instead of getting the house dirty
