  • The Dawoodi Bohras of Toronto, Canada, invited local, provincial and federal officials for a get-together to celebrate the occasion of Eid and exchange cultural conversations at Masjid Al Saifee Complex in Richmond Hill.
In a speech expressing gratitude for being invited back to the masjid, Mayor David West reminded the audience that this mosque was the oldest standing Dawoodi Bohra masjid in the western world. “The wealth of your culture is woven into the fabric of our city’s heritage.”
Paul Chiang MP described how the Bohra community has helped shape the progress of Canada for many years. “The Dawoodi Bohras have established a community organisation that stands tall to this date to reinforce their beliefs, practices and continued growth,” he said.
