Thanks for sharing. I'm a boomer who marched snare with the 1980 Spirit of Atlanta and we had a few shows with Madison that summer. Great competitiveness between the two corps. Two walls of sound that will never be reproduced again due to the absence of G bugles. I'm a retired band director and I can appreciate the use of band instrument brass due to their inherent better intonation characteristics, BUT the edge and the sheer volume and excitement produced by the horn lines back in the day can't be reproduced by the use of trumpets and other regular band instruments. I applaud the efforts of these kids and their staff for the work they put into these productions. Not a fan of breaking tradition but I guess it is what it is. Memories.
I started marching in 1972 up in Canada and Madison was a favorite but in todays competitive environment and perhaps a reduction of interest for this type of activity, going mix is the way to go. My top 3 are SC, Carolina Crown and Phantom.
Nothing against our sisters, but can we guys have anything for ourselves? There were some really good all girl corps in the 70s and early 80s. Why couldnt you ladies keep those traditions?
@@mikesecor6074 unfortunately...you are correct! These days if you have a set of balls, but identify as a girl, you get to be on the girls track team and...beat every natural born girl. Maybe the answer here is to find enough boys who identify as girls and fill up the corps! (hehehe)
RiP to Madison Scouts. Going to miss the tradition. Nothing against females. But I don't think the scouts are going to ever be the same again. Ever. 2019 was just sad. Although they had a drill move that I like that about it that I remember from that show.
what a travesty to see my beloved Madison Scouts wearing Jammies. They always had the most iconic uniforms. I've been a fan since I first saw then back in 1975. What a horn line that year. This video is of a shadow of a once truly great corps. And now that they are coed, its all history. RIP Madison, you were once Gods!
@@hardcorehistorybuff5230 What I just saw in this video does not live up to the standard that used to be. This music was horribly written. I feel sorry for the kids ... they have so much talent yet their show designers and writers have failed them.

Final appearance of the men of Madison, this is a great video!
Thank you for posting this!
I was there. Loved it.
Are you THE Joel Alleyne of Oakland Crusaders fame?
After this performance THE Madison Scouts died a dishonorable death. The Brotherhood ended.

Shame that a tradition has gone!
This brass playing was rough. I love the Madison Scouts but oh boy....

anddd 21 was much better than 19
I disagree, I thought 21 was below 2019. Performance energy was incredible in 19. I didn’t feel much of anything after 21
Who couldn't hold out the high C at the end of the National Anthem? Really?C'mon ladies it was the beginning of your show!
calm down boomer

@@JohnSmith-zi9or i was part of this 2019 corps
@@hardcorehistorybuff5230 Im sorry for you. Im sorry for all of us that the Scouts have decided to turn their back on their roots.
@@JohnSmith-zi9or well you will have to wait and see
that trumpet sucked rip
I feel sorry for these kids. They've been duped by their leaders. And they volunteered for this.
