I'm an Arsenal fan but this is a fascinating view into club management. Always depressing to think that your club owners are prioritising profits over results but it's a sad truth that these owners are business men first and profits are their main concern. From the outside it seems obvious and laughable at how badly Chelsea have been managed since the Boehly takeover, I think that we (us UK footie fans) also like to laugh at the failure of the American approach of just throwing money at the problem and hoping it resolves. Boehly was certainly well out of his depth here. However, results are the most important thing for the fans, the owners and their sponsors etc.. It wasn't too long ago at all that Arsenal fans were protesting outside of the Emirates demanding the Kroenke's to get out of their club. Now that results are good, that all goes away. Football is pretty fickle
Chelsea fan since 2000 before Roman, but having him after Ken Bates was like "jackpot". Both of them were PASSIONATE, they actually wanted club to win, forget money. I started watching football since 1998 and watching how Chelsea "survived" against red giants around them was super impressive. We're used to owners who were fans of the club, not owners using the club as cash cow. Roman and Sheikh Mansour are owners every fans want. Splashing money, don't care about profit, as they just wanna use it as "symbol status" or "brandings". Fans don't care if their club is used as a "flexing" ticket, as long as it keeps winning and the legends/golden boys aren't sold/mistreated. Guardiola is a clown at UCL (2009 Ovrebo, 2023 FFP "leeway"), yet he turned EPL into farmers league. Why? Because no other owners in the EPL rain cash the way Mansour did. Yes, including the "backstage" dealings. Super contrary to how they treat Chelsea during Roman period. They'll nitpick every tiniest shite just because the owner is a Russian, a "sworn enemy" of the west.

He hasnt touched the field in a year. were fucked we need to buy soemone experienced not no Osimhen somebody experienced when it comes to strikers it lacks today withem but atleat buy someone who has played long at any position and start him weve sold everybody for no reason.
Chelsea recruitment strategy in the 2000's buy cheap wonder-kids from Africa like John Obi Mikel, Gael Kakuta etc or proven players from lower leagues like Portugal or france: Bosingwa Carvalho Feriera Drogba Kalou. Chelsea recruitment strategy in the 2010's buy Wonderkids from Brazil France Germany Spain Belgium etc: Debruyne Lukaku Hazard Marin Schurle Oscar Mata then sell them for profit to fund purchase of veterans like Fabregas Kante Costa. Chelsea strategy now: buy people no one has heard off.
Christ I cannot believe what a joke our club has become. These clowns aren't interested in building a title-winning team. All they're interested in is maximizing profits with no care whether we win a single trophy while they're here. Honestly makes me sick to my stomach.
This video sums up the Chelsea situation the best. People need to realize the investment is made to gain profit. And where can you make the quickest profit? On selling assets and investing in future assets that you can sell at the highest price at a later point. They give out 8-9 year contracts in hopes that after 4 years of playing at Chelsea, a talented player will increase in value. They will try to sell the player after 4-5 years to gain the profit to another club. If the player refuses to move to the other club (maybe because of club loyalty or because their family has already settled there or whatnot), the club can freeze the player or send him to play with the u-21s. And what player at age 25 would risk 5 years of their career. For most of them, money is great but playing football is their dream, so they will inevitably move to that other club because they will know what happens if they don't (5 years of no football for them). As an investor, this seems like a guaranteed money-generating scheme, but as a football fan, it's highly unethical what the owners are doing. What people also fail to mention is what they will do to players that don't fulfill their potential. Chelsea already have that system in place which is why Chelsea was such a perfect fit for ClearLake. You loan them out and recoup as much of the loan fee as possible and sell them when an acceptable bid comes in to recoup your loss. You minimize your losses while maximizing your profit by selling your best players who are held at ransom. This is why I've stressed that these owners are exponentially worse than the Glazers. Man United owners are incompetent when it comes to the football transfer market and the culture of the club. Chelsea owners are straight up evil
They were trying to destabilise Roman yrs ago blocking his Buiss Visa macking him take up residency in Tel Avi and when the Ukraine situation pop the jumped at the chance to rip away the club and hand it over to there Equity fund mates fr Wall St
The last part about cole palmer is the exact thing im scared of with this current club i believe there is a chance for something next season cole palmer has demonstrated alone that he is probably the most mature player that we have you could say that thiago silva is still a very crucial piece in this puzzle that the club has found themselves in simply due to the fact that he should rub off on these newer defenders similar to the whole hazard benzima vini jr learning process chalobah isnt cutting it which sucks because after the crystal palace screamer he scored i wanted nothing but the best for him. I guess any chelsea fans join in on this one im interested who do you prefer out of the two "major" rbs being both Gusto and James? I currently have to go with Gusto i think he's a perfect companion almost for setting up Palmer apart from Palmer himself there is just no one on this pitch that looks like they're remotely interested in the game I've said that the man city game felt like a 4v11 almost just no coordination terrible choice of Gallagher on captain I despise I think he's improved since coming in under Tuchel but I think I'd like to see some maturity in the squad developing actually from the back of the pitch wether that be Petrovic that gets the armband or Silva when he is on the fact that he is 4th is just unnacceptable in my eyes and this doesnt even come from a bias towards Silva i just think that its quite common to have the most mature player on the pitch to have the band no?
I'm seriously concerned that with more years out of Europe, we're gonna have to sell Palmer or Gusto just to meet FFP. To expect a team of U24 players to compete, especially when most of them have just joined the club is insanity. I actually like Gallagher as a player (though don't think he should be a regular starter at a top club) but isn't it absolutely crazy that a player who the club has tried to sell for 4 windows is now the club captain? It's all such a big mess, and all could have been avoided if the ownership just used some logic when building the club.
@@PabloEdition I 100 percent agree I believe that Gallagher looks like a lost dog when playing he will chase the ball I'll give him that but I cannot help but feel he is possibly the better defender out of him and Fernandez I truly believe if we played Gallagher back more endo foward we would see more clinical passes and agressive man marking in the final third also amazing video shared light on somethings I didnt even know where going on so thank you.

Rather Ironically, when non-Chelsea fans point at Chelsea and laugh at their crazy owners, Todd Boehly, being the most high-profile of the BlueCo owners, is often the one blamed and ridiculed on the most. But when you scroll on Chelsea forums, Chelsea fans will be quick to correct you that Boehly is not as responsible as others will have you believe. Indeed, Boehly personally is only a minority stake owner. Instead, they will collectively point their fingers at Eghbali instead, saying he is the real culprit. I guess they're not wrong. This remark by Eghbali is perhaps why European football fans will forever hate American owners so much. THEY ONLY SEE FOOTBALL CLUBS AS A PROFIT-MAKING ASSET. Indeed, this is how sports franchises (franchises, not teams) operate in the ultra hyper-capitalistic US sports scene. While sports teams might have ties to a specific region, they could always be relocated to another city for the sole aim of filling the owner's pockets. Take the Dodgers in the MLB for example, relocated from Brooklyn to LA solely for profit in 1957. Or the proposed relocation of the Oakland Athletics from Oakland to Las Vegas, again, for profit, inevitably tearing up the US sports fabric. While this make US sports leagues filthy rich compared to European ones, they also tear up the social fabrics of cities. While I personally don't like this method, the US is too entrenched in this capitalistic system to go back. However, US investors in European sports teams must acknowledge: 1. European Teams are not merely cash cows. They are a crucial part of the social fabric of a city, a town, a neighbourhood or even a region. 2. Don't expect the ultra-capitalistic system of the US to function the way it does in Europe, it will not work. The Premier League, itself the most commercialized European football league, might fare alright under this system, but less commercialized leagues like LaLiga, Serie A and ESPECIALLY the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 simply does not buy your shock therapy. Girondins de Bordeaux has recently become the latest and largest victim of mismanagement under US ownership, and many will inevitably follow. How many more mistakes will these ownership regimes make?
Can someone explain how owners extract value by making us worse?? Also, Great video and agree on so much of it but a couple of rebuttals: 1. There are many clubs that operate the multi club model, not just Brighton (Man city, and Arsenal to name a few) 2. There are many clubs that use data driven models. In fact, probably every single big club in Europe. That is how Liverpool landed on Wataru Endo 3. Brighton aren't the only club that sign large amounts of players. Manchester city have bought around ~55 players since 2016/17 which is only ~10 less than Brighton all over what, 8 years? In general, I find it hard to argue that we are following the Brighton model when we are spending a billion and buying multiple players for 100m+.
If new American owners Behdad Eghbali and Jose E. Feliciano and not just Todd Boehly, are the real power at Chelsea FC (after the 19 years of Russian/Israeli Roman Ambramovich rule the government forced a sale), then that is worryingly serious for fans. Roman Abramovich developed a clear infra-structure and strategy for Chelsea FC, spent £Billion of his own considerable fortune, ruthlessly demanded success from head coaches: +Thomas Tuchel Frank Lampard +Maurizio Sarri **Guus Hiddink +Antonio Conte **Steve Holland +Jose Mourinho +**Rafael Benitez +Guss Hiddink +Roberto Di Mateo Andrea Villas Boas +Carlo Ancelotti Ray 'Butch' Wilkins Luiz Felipe Scolari Anram Grant +Jose Mourinho Claudio Ranieri and saw Stamford Bridge home stadium trophy rooms chock full of 2xUEFA Champions' League 2xEuropa League European Super League World Cub Championship 5xEnglish Premier League 5xFA Cup 2 League Cup Community Shields some glorious wins 'Clearlake Consortium' have spent £Billion and sacked 5 head coaches: Mauricio Pochettino Frank Lampard Graham Potter Bruno Saltor Thomas Tuchel In 2 years, ripped the heart out of the club destroying its infra-structure and delivered absolutely bugger all! They just want a "Yes" man and clearly don't know anything about ** interim/temp coach + trophy winner
So If I'm understanding this correctly, Clearlake thought Brighton and RB Leipzig, two teams who have NEVER won a Champions League nor their domestic league, are better just because they're better at flipping young talent for profits? This is it. The day Capitalism has officially ruined football has truly arrived.
What amuses me is how apparently, as said at the start, raine group chose not the highest bidder but the ones who wanted the best for the club. What a load of nonsense that was. Also they had the nerve to make out that abramovich had a say and specifically chose clearlake as the new owners. Aside from being primarily financially driven, why would a Russian want a bunch of Americans to take over his pride and joy?
I’m not buying a single jersey until the ownership changes. Or any other merch. I’d boycott the matches if I lived in England. Boycotting may be the only way we get our club back. This club belongs to the fans.. without our support, this management can’t stand on its own.
What is beyond mind boggling to me is that there has been no fan protests aimed at the owners it's as if the fans are bewildered by the mess and don't know how to react...The fans need to let the 2 clowns and the inept recruitment team, beyond inept medical staff etc.. know that they are completely accountable for helping to destroy Chelsea...Beyond angry !
i've always said this, selling the whole core team and replacing them with talent won't work, they dismantled the whole CL side within a season. So sure, some of them didn't quite fit in right and wanted to move on, but some of them needed to stay as pillars/base point of the team like Jorginho, Kante, Rudiger, Havertz maybe even Koulibaly deserved more time at the club! All guys with experience.
Since Abramovich Chelsea lost its soul. But because that was a period of successes, you lot did not notice, or you did not care. Now you're reaping the rewards. The tourists lost interest and moved on to Man City. I do hope some day the same downfall will happen to them too. In the meantime, I do hope that the true fans will still be going to the Chelsea games, even in these dire times. Based on the attendence figures, that is happening so that is a good sign. And I'll be cheering for Dortmund tonight, since it's not made from plastic, as opposed to PSG
They deserve this tbh. People talk about Man City ruining football but the blueprint was written by Chelsea. They were the club that started us on this path of ridiculous transfer fees and wages. They were originally a Tottenham- sized team
so they believe european football lacks proper data metrics and stats to assess players, and then they end up signing a player like nicholas jackson ,who has one of the worst conversion stats .
Eghbali does not love Chelsea.. Like abramovich did...he views Chelsea as a money making entity running for chump change like broadcast ticket shirt sales eggbali is not interested in big uefa competition where the real money is with sponsorship ...as long as Chelsea is in the premiere league mid table or lower that's all he wants his not interested in being top four or a prestige level ..eggbali is a mediocre low table owner with no ambition
While I dont like Chelsea, it's clear Roman was there because he likes football; Egbali and Boehly want to make more money. I kinda feel sorry for Chelsea fans
Why change a strategy which was working for the club, could have made small adjustment to there transfer strategy but what they’ve done does not make any sense at all.
Very well constructed video. The only thing I'd add to it is to elaborate on what was touched on at Madrid. It's far more than just players like Kroos and Modric. They continue to buy the worlds best players, Rudiger, Alaba were brought in the past few years to solidify their lines, while players like Ceballos, VAsquez, Carvajal still there, Mendy...Benzema recently. They have surrounded themselves with players in their primes and senior players while buying a top young prospect seemingly each year. Guler, Endrick, Camavinga, Bellingham, Tchouameni the biggest names. The way Real Madrid conduct themselves is nothing like Chelsea. As the video clearly demonstrates, and as Craig Burley of ESPN most recently said post Arsenal thrashing - Roman Abramovich couldn't have sold the club to a worse ownership group. This is also a warning for other big clubs as it could happen to any team that is bought out and as hard to imagine a group doing a worse job than Clearlake and the consortium, when profit is the prime directive, anything is possible as we are witnessing with Chelsea.
Maybe be they're benefiting from their interests in another betting companies, as most of Chelsea results have been unpredictable tampering it with the help of Pochettino
I see what you're saying about flipping players for profit however what is so confusing and makes zero sense is buying Enzo, Caicedo and Mudryk for 300 million for the 3 players..They are definitely not going to be able to flip those 3 players for any kind of profit..The whole thing is a mess with no clear lines of objective
Everything that was mentioned in the video was true, but I don’t understand how you’ve concluded that Eghbali is the villain and behind everything based on one interview where he repeats almost everything that Boehly has said in his own earlier interviews.
@@tikemyson5627 Yes but even in the video it was mentioned that Eghbali didn't buy those 60% with his own money, unlike Boehly. You also have to consider that Boehly is the one that has a track record of having part ownership in other sports teams. He also tried to buy Chelsea before Abramovic got sanctioned which further indicates that it was most likely his idea to buy Chelsea and he probably just chose to partner up with Clearlake to raise the funds. Intentional or not, a lot of details/context about Boehly have been left out in this video in order to make this narrative that Eghbali is the villain.

These scumbags need to be kicked out of CFC asap … club is being destroyed from within.
So is ours we have won nothing yet they are hyping the fans up like we are going to win the Champions league.
Man united fans tried to warn everyone about American owners, they got laughed at
It's all about stocks with them, so annoying
This is very true why not keep d experienced players to play with d current ones
and now silva is leaving meaning our only player over 30 is bettineli. He hasnt touched the field in a year. were fucked we need to buy soemone experienced not no Osimhen somebody experienced when it comes to strikers it lacks today withem but atleat buy someone who has played long at any position and start him weve sold everybody for no reason.
"do you see me as a joke person?" 😂😂😂
💀
Poch is under pressure to 5:07 field Enzo & some injuries prone played
even though he's not fit
Chelsea recruitment strategy in the 2000's buy cheap wonder-kids from Africa like John Obi Mikel, Gael Kakuta etc or proven players from lower leagues like Portugal or france: Bosingwa Carvalho Feriera Drogba Kalou.
Chelsea recruitment strategy in the 2010's buy Wonderkids from Brazil France Germany Spain Belgium etc: Debruyne Lukaku Hazard Marin Schurle Oscar Mata
then sell them for profit to fund purchase of veterans like Fabregas Kante Costa.
Glad that someone sees it
It pains me so much to say that you have so much of this on point.
Chelsea should sign Griezman & 1 experienced midfielder since Silva is leaving
Like Don Vito said: It was "Eghbali" all along!!
Well made video. Thanks for summarizing the failed strategy so clearly.
2:54 This is criminal.
Chelsea is finished. The UK Government has destroyed our team and it's so painful to watch.
Hhaahahahah
They were trying to destabilise Roman yrs ago blocking his Buiss Visa macking him take up residency in Tel Avi and when the Ukraine situation pop the jumped at the chance to rip away the club and hand it over to there Equity fund mates fr Wall St
Or, you know, Chelsea could have been bought by sensible owners, who put the sport and the fans first instead of profits.
@@Zevrael The decision to accept the Clearlake bid was made by the UK government whose fingerprints are all over this!
When Behdad Egg head said “Soccer” I knew it was over Pls these clowns should sell up !!
Very well explained hope this goes viral to all chelsea fans so they can see the mess that we are in
the forcing of the sale of chelsea fc is a hypocritic western govt selling a passion inorder to so called fix what is not broken.
When someone with no football knowledge tries running a club
@@PabloEdition palmer is 100 percent getting sold all this player were bought to make profit on clearly they didn’t have building a team in mind when buying these players they’ve just bought players based off mark value projection if it doesn’t make sense financially then they won’t buy the plsyer even if it makes sencesportingly
This has me scared. We just placed 6th, giving us European Football. Then Poch announced he left the Club. This Board is pegging us at every turn.
So well put bro. Just as it seemed there were some signs of stability, we've completely dismantled it. HAVE YOU SEEN THE NAMES WE'RE LOOKING AT TO REPLACE HIM??!

However, US investors in European sports teams must acknowledge:
Minerals landed
Exactly it is getting to a point where it is scary as hell
Can someone explain how owners extract value by making us worse??
Also, Great video and agree on so much of it but a couple of rebuttals:
1. There are many clubs that operate the multi club model, not just Brighton (Man city, and Arsenal to name a few)
2. There are many clubs that use data driven models. In fact, probably every single big club in Europe. That is how Liverpool landed on Wataru Endo
Shoutout younes for bringing us here!! Great video
If new American owners Behdad Eghbali and Jose E. Feliciano and not just Todd Boehly, are the real power at Chelsea FC (after the 19 years of Russian/Israeli Roman Ambramovich rule the government forced a sale), then that is worryingly serious for fans.
Roman Abramovich developed a clear infra-structure and strategy for Chelsea FC, spent £Billion of his own considerable fortune, ruthlessly demanded success from head coaches:
+Thomas Tuchel
Frank Lampard
+Maurizio Sarri
**Guus Hiddink
+Antonio Conte
**Steve Holland
+Jose Mourinho
+**Rafael Benitez
+Guss Hiddink
+Roberto Di Mateo
Andrea Villas Boas
+Carlo Ancelotti
Ray 'Butch' Wilkins
Luiz Felipe Scolari
Anram Grant
+Jose Mourinho
Claudio Ranieri
and saw Stamford Bridge home stadium trophy rooms chock full of
2xUEFA Champions' League
2xEuropa League
European Super League
World Cub Championship
5xEnglish Premier League
5xFA Cup
2 League Cup
Community Shields
some glorious wins
'Clearlake Consortium' have spent £Billion and sacked 5 head coaches:
Mauricio Pochettino
Frank Lampard
Graham Potter
Bruno Saltor
Thomas Tuchel
In 2 years, ripped the heart out of the club destroying its infra-structure and delivered absolutely bugger all!
They just want a "Yes" man and clearly don't know anything about
** interim/temp coach
+ trophy winner
The Injury crisis is my biggest concern. See RL Cheek and Pulisic who were always injured doing well in Italia. Something needs to change
So If I'm understanding this correctly, Clearlake thought Brighton and RB Leipzig, two teams who have NEVER won a Champions League nor their domestic league, are better just because they're better at flipping young talent for profits? This is it. The day Capitalism has officially ruined football has truly arrived.
You failed to note that nobody buys a club for 4.5 billion dollars to run this model you talk about.
Well these owners have so what’s your point?
Thank you for including Minerals FC in the video. He would have watched it, thinking, "It's all Siri Merchant Eghbali's fault!"
Next time don't add that liar Chairman Wontumi, he can't even buy a football club in Ghana
Chelsea fans are not stupid....we want champions league spot next season....
Chelsea Wil never be the same don't be surprised if they relegated next season

i've always said this, selling the whole core team and replacing them with talent won't work, they dismantled the whole CL side within a season.

And I'll be cheering for Dortmund tonight, since it's not made from plastic, as opposed to PSG
thank you we should be calling this out its egbhali its him!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! Truly informative. I am enlightened. Thank you. A Madridista here.
I learned a lot from this video about the potential future of our club. Thanks for this. 🙌🙌🙌
It couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of fans
Insightful video recorded from inside a filing cabinet
funny how time distorts some reality.
Chelsea need to do some about the medical department because the rate of the players getting injured is too alarming
I've been saying this for ages. They only want Chelsea playing football as a shop window for the players they have bought from around the world.
underrated channel!
They deserve this tbh. People talk about Man City ruining football but the blueprint was written by Chelsea. They were the club that started us on this path of ridiculous transfer fees and wages.
They were originally a Tottenham- sized team
very good work
so they believe european football lacks proper data metrics and stats to assess players, and then they end up signing a player like nicholas jackson ,who has one of the worst conversion stats .
No yanks in football 👌
came here after Poch out
Why change a strategy which was working for the club, could have made small adjustment to there transfer strategy but what they’ve done does not make any sense at all.
So much for making the fans proud
I was so pissed when the UK gov rejected Jim Ratcliffe’s proposal for the americans instead; I knew this would happen to our beloved club
I suspect the owners are even staking matches against the team, and if such allegations come up in the future I wouldn't be surprised
It make me wonder what happen if todd boehly own 100% of the club rather than those two frauds at the top ??
Who pressured to sell the club. Just think
Everything that was mentioned in the video was true, but I don’t understand how you’ve concluded that Eghbali is the villain and behind everything based on one interview where he repeats almost everything that Boehly has said in his own earlier interviews.
Because he owns clear lake and clear lake own 60 percent of Chelsea
@@TheMrLjupce there both equally villians along with Jose e feliciano there the 3 main guys but clear lake are the main investors and want to see quick profits so this whole multi club model buying selling players pure profit nonsense is coming from them
