In the late 1950's, hundreds of animals were found completely drained of blood. The culprit, described as 3-4 feet tall, with alien-like eyes and spikes running down its back, was called the Chupacabra. Cryptid: The Chupacabra will take you deep into the history of the legendary phenomenon.

That's a picture of a very skinny dog with Mange...
So clearly a coyote w/ mange
Thanks. This comment answered question if it was going to mention the Texas one. So not sure ill bother watching on
As a Puerto Rican, it’s really upsetting when our legend has been hijacked and popularized as an obvious dog with mange. To us, the legend of the chupacabra will always be the reptilian alien with glowing red eyes.
Bud I hate to tell you this but the "reptilian" version originated in the 90s when a woman with mental health issues described the creature from the movie Species she'd just watched the night before making a report. She also insisted it was an alien from a local government research facility.
I have a question do have newspapers articles of the moca vampire of Puerto Rico. It happened in around 1975
Agree. 🇵🇷
Chupacabras are real. There was a video taken by the dashboard cam of a Texas Border Patrol agent showing something really weird loping in front of his vehicle. People said it was a coyote with mange but no coyote I've ever seen looked like that thing. I believe you can still find that video on YT.
Look up "Texas blue dog"
It was never a dog like creature when it originated in South America. The dog came about because of the strange dog ur talking about. It has nothing to do with a canine.
@@leonmohan1708true it was more of an alien that looked similar to the likeness of the creature little girls saw, the Peru army recovery incident.
The Texas blue dogs are some kind of hybrid between wild mexican hairless dogs and coyotes... they look weird but they're not the original chupacabras... people just started calling them chupachabras because they look weird
@@SuMBuDDe42oE I've never put those two together. That's really interesting, the Peru incident with the kids and the small, bug eyed reptoid. There are definitely similarities in the descriptions of the creatures. Well done, great work.
This is probably my number one Cryptid pet peeve. How the original description of the Chupacabra became so diluted?
Look like Xoloitzcuintle dogs to me. (Mexican Hairless Dog)
I'll always remember the X-Files episode. LOL Love when new movies come out!! Bought it. Getting snacks. Watching it tonight! Plus, I enjoy listening to Ken Gerhart & Lyle Blackburn.
please quit showing AI images, it really makes you look bad
Small Town Monsters, Your videos always brighten my day, so I subscribed!
I did a video about them a while ago... they are not dogs... ugh... how easy people forget original stories and history... Those dog things are Xoloitzcuintli... otherwise called a Xolo dog or mexican blue dog.
It irks me when Folks describe the "Blue Dog" as a Chupacabra..🤨
These are two way,way different creatures. While this Blue Dog,and it's habits are interesting..😏 the real Chupacabra fascinates me,and terrifies me,in equal measure.
Eeeeek..😳
It's about time that a documentary addressed the manner in which the Chupacabra was literally recreated in Texas! The creature in Puerto Rico is the Chupacabra! It is distinct in its description and it is not anything like a K9!
That just looks like a Ferrell cholo escuincles
I love this channel.
Somehow they look cute, you want to pet them
Coyotes with mange
Yo soy from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 that is definitely not the chupacabra, the real look humanoid, I live in rio grande, in the rainforest! 🇵🇷🌴😎
Xoloitzcuintli
I loved this movie and can't wait for all of this years Kickstarter movies!! Keep up the amazing work y'all!
👍❤️🙏
The night stalkers are probably the descendant of the original Chihuahuas, wolves, and coyotes. The Chihuahuas genes are probably what causes the hairlessness and while the population of indigenous American dogs went extinct when Europeans arrived it is possible small pockets survived through cross breeding with more hearty breeds such as wolf or coyote and thusly were never breed down to toy size.
