I have a theory on how Dog knows where Alyx is all the time, and it's that he is linked to her EMP tool that she keeps with her, so he tracks it because he knows that it is most likely with Alyx.
Seeing him taking down a strider and a dropship was pretty cool. But yeah I would LOVE see him fighting a horde of antlions for example. I really hope he will be thoroughly used in the next HL instalment and maybe we even get a chance to play as him? That would be pretty cool.
They really should have put Bullsquids in watery areas, had Houndeyes in the wilderness/abandoned buildings, and added in different cut Xen flora/fauna into the game. That would have really improved the lacking enemy variety, and made the world truly feel like it’s infested with all kinds of weird aliens that have integrated into Earth’s ecosystems.
@@shreksnow1918 In HL2 we learned that antlions built their hives underground but yeah I would love to see more animals adapting to the new eco-system going on rather than just rush to humans attempting to eat them lol

I just love what you did here, also at the end involving the 2020 game - it was a new way to describe what hapenned and also stay in perspective of Dog for the sake of your documentation. Yes, your videos are since you arived in youtube Half-Life Documentaries cause nobody else realised them in the way you do, that is no joke - i mean it serious. Now your work here made me think about the continuation ☺️ After having Half-Life Alyx in VR and also Steam Deck it seems very logical to have Dog also as playable character in a future Half-Life game! Dog was one of my favorite characters in half life 2 one of my favorite moments in half life 2 episode 2 was the race with dog the choice to bet him or let him win was always fun to make

I really liked Dog. Seeing him take down the Synths was definitely really cool. I really like how he helps you at key parts of the game. If only we got to see him fight against the various different Xen creatures (it would be like Omni Man vs bootleg Justice League). They really should have put the different Xen creatures into the game because it would have made 2 tie in a lot better with the original (personally I think the beta would have been a much better sequel because of just how dark and oppressive it was. It truly feels like earth has been completely taken over by aliens with all of their technology everywhere, their various cybernetic abominations are roaming the streets, and they’re draining it of all it’s resources. In retail it just feels like the Combine are there, but don’t have a super big presence in comparison. The game we got was truly great, but it has some major drawbacks. Luckily we can fix all these problems with mods), as well as making narrative sense with all the portal storms dropping in Xen creatures across the world. It’s interesting how Dog’s design changed overtime. Between the beta and retail it’s mostly just a visual upgrade with a few minor tweaks. But, the version in Alyx looks really different because of how high poly/res he is. Why did they change Eli’s voice actor? Did he just not want to reprise his role, or did he sadly pass away? There’s this Half Life rts called Lambda Wars. It’s a standalone mod you can get on Steam so it’s completely free. It has two factions the Rebels and the Combine. I haven’t played it yet, but fr what I’ve seen and heard it looks really good. ESCalation has a good video about it. This is kind of off topic, but have you played any of the Halo games? Luckily most of them are now on Steam (with the exception of 5 and Halo Wars 2). What I suggest you do is wait for the MCC (Master Chief Collection) to go on sale and buy the ones you want. When you critically analyze the story in the games it is really dumb at times and consistent. But the strength of Halo’s narrative is in the presentation. It has really good voice acting, music, and gameplay with fun enemies and cool set pieces. Plus, it has a lot of really cool and deep lore. If you want to learn more about the universe without having to read a bunch of books that range in quality (they’ve been just pumping them out since 343 took over) the channels you should check out are Halo Canon, Hiddenxperia, Sametoken, and Instalation00. It’s probably one of my favorite universes because of the lore. I’ve also grown up with the games so I can overlook the flaws, while acknowledging them. Fortunately now that they’re on pc the different aspects that haven’t aged well can be fixed with mods. The new Halo Infinite was fun, but it’s sadly really bare bones. There was so much cut from the campaign, and it’s not really worth buying at this moment. Wait until they add a bunch of stuff. Luckily the multiplayer is free, but it has horrible cosmetic monetization. The Halo Wars games were pretty fun. Admittedly they’re really bare bones and don’t have a lot of unit variety. Luckily they work really well as introductory titles to the genera. They also both feel really good to play on a controller because they were designed to be played on consoles (I’m aware that’s weird). Unfortunately 1 doesn’t have crossplay so Steam, Xbox, and Windows Store users can’t play with each other. Wars 2 also isn’t on Steam for whatever reason. One thing that’s really funny is since you can’t really import custom assets so any new vehicles are mashups of different assets. The new units are just reskins with swapped out weapons/abilities. Luckily the Flood is playable because of mods. One thing about the lore that’s truly disturbing is the Flood. They’re this truly horrible parasite that can infect pretty much everything, and can even spread through the air. When you get infected you will feel your bones snapping, organs liquefying, and various other changes happen. If you’re lucky it will result in you dying. There’s been some cases like Private Jenkins who have been infected by an aged/damaged infection form so they remained alive and could fell everything, and were well aware of their actions that they couldn’t control. When Keyes was turned into a Proto-Gravemind he could slowly feel his identity was slowly stripped away as the hive mind was looking for important information. You’ve probably heard about the fact that there’s a new Halo show on Paramount Plus. Admittedly I’ve never watched the thing because I don’t have said streaming service. I’ve mostly just seen clips. Apparently the audience reactions are very mixed. You have some people who really like the show and others who hate it. One thing that is consistent is you have both sides agreeing it’s a mixed bag with a lot of different aspects they liked and disliked. Part of the reason it’s been getting so much hate is because they’re making all these weird changes to the lore. Luckily the thing isn’t canon, and is it’s own thing. What they should have done what the Marvel movies did where they loosely adapted the source material (in this case games and books) while changing the things that simply don’t work for a tv format, and put their own spin on certain things/added in new ideas. I wonder if his ability to sense incoming combine attacks had to do with the technology he was made out of? If the combine sent a signal to their robots prepare for an attack, it's possible DOG also recieved it.
In Episode 2 Beta Ending, Alyx mentions that she and Gordon going to test out Upgrades in to Dog, and in Episode 3 Leaks or whatever the leak name was. 2 Maps containing Dog Upgrade System

I wonder if his ability to sense incoming combine attacks had to do with the technology he was made out of? If the combine sent a signal to their robots prepare for an attack, it's possible DOG also recieved it.
