@MrTwistedHD Don't have a guitar with me at the moment but watched the video and it looks like I hammered the pointer finger on the D Chord (2nd Fret 3rd string up) then I move to the A chord and throw in like a 7th note on the 3rd fret, 2nd string up. Then I move to the E minor chord and throw in the same 7th as the A chord then move to the G. Give it a try and see if I explained it well enough. Let me know if you still need help after this message. Thanks for checking it out. Bobby
@playtolive1 Glad it helped you out my friend, and I see you wanted a Thompson Square request on are you gonna kiss me or not. See if I can't make that happen. Thanks, Bobby
@HighLyfeTV At 8:57 in the video I show the strum pattern if you did not get that far in. I sent you a personal message to address your question as I deal with it a lot and it is a big issue. Beginning guitarist always ask that question when trying to learn a song and I try to steer them away from that mind frame. Chords must be played specifically but the strumming belongs to you and with time and practice your mind will do what is needed to get the sound right.
You might want to check out my You Tube learning center. I created several videos there on the most commonly used chords. I then break down strumming techniques that I use to help out people that are newer guitarists and or needing assistance with strumming patterns. I think you will find the lessons very useful. The most important thing is don't get caught in the down down up mentallity. Just do your best to find a groove that lets you sing and play and work from there. Bobby.
