I understand that the Garmin does loop recording. What I would like to know is if the unit will beep or signal just before it is about to begin loop recording so I can switch out the micro SD card with a fresh one? My primary reason for using the dashcam is to record a scenic road trip that I am planning to take and I may not have time or be in a position to download and save the sections that I want to keep and I certainly wouldn't want to accidentally re-record over anything. Thanks.

Good review. Thanks. There are some things to dislike about the Garmin dashcams though. There's no PC desktop application for reviewing trip videos along with the GPS details like the NextBase app provides. The 66W also appears to be a USB 1.1 device, meaning transferring files to a PC when plugged in via USB takes far too long at 16 Mb/s transfer speeds. Also annoying is that when you attach the camera you always have to press a button to Accept the legal BS message before it can apparently be used. Other than this, Garmin does have everything else mostly nailed. Voice control is, as you say, super responsive and the driving assist features are nice additions if you need them. Video quality is also excellent and I really like the compactness of the device.
Just bought 65w I recommend get a 64gb card due to constant re writing stress on the provided 8gb card that combined with inside car heat, I was getting memory corruption after a month. FYI I love the voice control when an incident noteworthy happens.
