i personally think this song highlighted how well they can hit their high notes. it's no lady marmalade, but its a really good upbeat mainstream idol song that they used to showcase how well they can control their singing + belting. ara's dance was lacking, but i could tell she practiced a lot - hope they made it into the top 8

These girls are the epitome of girl group. They practice so much--from their performances to their greetings. They're almost always in sync with each other and you can tell how much they practice. They deserve the love. They're doing an excellent job and has definitely made their way as contestants to watch out for.

I wouldn't say that they perform better then the originals but they were able to make it seem like it's a song of their own which makes it seems like it's better. Definitely a great skill to have.
I get why JYP looks so proud. the girls made it their own and it didn't make the song worse. they brought energy to the stage which the song really needed, had amazing vocals, and their dancing had improved tremendously. if you think they flopped, don't just look at the original and this but instead actually compare to know why JYP looks so happy
I don't understand people sometimes really. When Soomin and Sohee perform The Boys and fall short of expectation, people swarmed over and protected them, whereas these two perform a much more complete stage and still got criticized (?). Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love ALL the trainees this season, and am a fan of soomin and sohee, but I just hope people give hyerim and ara a chance too. For this performance only, they did a GREAT job. There was power and energy, vocals and high notes didn't feel lacking, and they only have two members. How crazy is that?

TWICE happened because of a talent show. :D Y'all don't know where Twice came from but saying they're untalented, it just makes me laugh though. 😂 Its just depend on the concept, Twice could be a boygroup though because of their low tone ranges. The main vocal is alto, its very rare in k-pop.
Their vocal range is super impressive as usual, but I would've liked to have seen them cover some of the original choreo, which is very fast-paced and difficult. If they'd managed to do justice to it, it would've really shown their growth as dancers. As it is, they kind of dodged the issue again. Oh well, maybe they just need some more time to work on that. In the meantime, either of them could easily be the lead vocal for almost any girl group out there.
I like this version much more than the original. They're really good and indeed, compared to the other girl group contestant they don't have a direct appeal, but as time goes by you can't help but look back at their performances.
i love their energy, their voice, their cute dance... i love everything of this performed. And i'm not bash anyone but i get more energy from this performed than the original
Their vocals are definitely extremely powerful and strong. Their high notes are also their strength with more practice these two can two really strong main vocals since they add so much to a normal idol song. With the image of an idol these two really shapes it differently

i know that some of the other contestants have more fans than this duo (like jeon minju and kriesha are super popular with the international fanbase) but i honestly think they're the top contenders for this show... they're so fucking talented vocally holy shiiit
Agreed. However, if they want to be in an idol group, they are lacking in looks. They have ordinary Korean face, not eye catching or memorable like the faces in TWICE and Blackpink. This is not a diss but a reality check. There are way too many who can sing and dance but can't be top tier entertainers because they are not blessed by Entertainer God to have the physical package (and no, plastic surgery doesn't cut it. It makes faces stiff and cookie cutter).
I've always been a fan of Minjoo since the YouU days and was rooting for Soomin in PD101. Sohee and Kriesha are in no doubt amazing as well but people need to give these girls a chance. Hyerim surprises me every time and Ara is talented. As much as I love Minjoo and Kriesha, I personally feel that Hyerim and Ara did better this week. Can't wait to see Sohee and Somin's performance!!!
Both of them did a great job specially Hyerim. Hyerim is dancing while singing high notes? that's so awesome. The choreography looks like a little bit recycle thou reminds me of Min Garin-Kim Hyerim's performance in their cute duo. The concept is kinda aimed on JYP.

if ara and hyerim continue this kind of energy and smart strategy when choosing how to use their strength they might be #1 among the 3 groups. yg, yoo heyeol and jyp even complimented them for their synergy and confident. and hyerim never lost since the beginning of the competition.
Tbh I like this performance the best out of the girl groups. Their voices are stable and didn't crack unlike some of the other girls and the dance might not be as sharp, but they did really well. I believe these two stand out and much more in a group, while the others are more of solo characters that collaborate.. to me at least

These two trainees are SANG LIVE THE WHOLE TIME AND SLAYED IT EVEN WITH A SIMPLE BUT ENERGETIC DANCE ROUTINE..and covered all the 9 members parts. So yes i already said it. No Twice is better. Twice version -Longer and have more singing part. -More hard in dancing. -They have 9 people so they have to move more than 2 people to change the line. -Maybe they did good but not that MUCH BETTER THAN TWICE'S VERSION like you said. Gawd I was in awe! I didn't feel the full potential of this song until now. I am a Twice fan but to me, this performance created more impact than the original Touchdown stages.
they may not have the best skill of vocal or dance among all contestants, but they are surely having an image of happy, energetic idols which is very entertaining and I like it XD
this perf is perfect. their vocals are well matched. The way they arranged the perf there's highs & lows so the energy isn't the same throughout thus not boring. I watched this after Kriesha & Minju's perf before this and that made them boring to watch I guess.

Finally heard all 3 groups so I'll compare them all. Minju+Chrischa, Dancing was ok, I'd put them 3rd for the dancing. Not cause they did bad but just because there wasn't much there. Singing I'd put them 2nd. Chrischa has a very nice rich tone and since she grew up in the States her English pronunciation is quite good. Minju while on pitch doesn't have as rich a tone as the other 5 girls. ARa, HyeRim, Dancing was pretty good it was energetic and they had good unison give them 2nd for Dancing, Singing very good. First for singing. HyeRim has great lower pitch tone and pretty good high pitch singing. Also has unusually good English pronunciation. ARa has great upper pitch thickness and tone. A Bit quiet on the lower notes but very very good in the top. Also dispite a very energetic performance their harmonies and singing was spot on. SoHee and SuMin. SuMin was sick and had throat problems which hurt their performance greatly. I'd give them first in the Dancing but third in singing. No SuMin's fault but it happened. Her upper singing was flawed and Sohee just doesn't have a rich enough voice to bring any wow factor to the performance. Dancing though was very nice. So my ranking for all 3 groups. 1st) Ara, and HyeRim, 2nd) SoHee and SuMin, 3rd) Minju and Chrischa. Of course this is all my opinion and not necessarily yours :)

Best peformance. People have seen them as underdogs and many hate them as they are but they have proved in this performance. I love them sooo muccch.. The team spirit, the teamwork, the ENERGY was way on top.

Came after listening to the original and I must say this version is better. It has class to it and you can actually take it seriously. And this is LIVE and performed by a DUO

I'm not hating on twice because I also watch their shows, it's just that I love this version and this is just my opinion. We should just respect each other's opinion without bashing or hating any group.
if ara and hyerim continue this kind of energy and smart strategy when choosing how to use their strength they might be #1 among the 3 groups. yg, yoo heyeol and jyp even complimented them for their synergy and confident. and hyerim never lost since the beginning of the competition.
Tbh I like this performance the best out of the girl groups. Their voices are stable and didn't crack unlike some of the other girls and the dance might not be as sharp, but they did really well. I believe these two stand out and much more in a group, while the others are more of solo characters that collaborate.. to me at least

I dont even hate TWICE but your comments are really making me dislike them. TWICE IS 9 AND THEY HAVE BACKUP VOCALS WHILE DANCING. These two trainees are SANG LIVE THE WHOLE TIME AND SLAYED IT EVEN WITH A SIMPLE BUT ENERGETIC DANCE ROUTINE..and covered all the 9 members parts. So yes i already said it. THEY DID REALLY GREAT BETTER THAN TWICE HAHA

Gawd I was in awe! I didn't feel the full potential of this song until now. I am a Twice fan but to me, this performance created more impact than the original Touchdown stages.

this perf is perfect. their vocals are well matched. The way they arranged the perf there's highs & lows so the energy isn't the same throughout thus not boring. I watched this after Kriesha & Minju's perf before this and that made them boring to watch I guess.

Finally heard all 3 groups so I'll compare them all.
Minju+Chrischa, Dancing was ok, I'd put them 3rd for the dancing. Not cause they did bad but just because there wasn't much there. Singing I'd put them 2nd. Chrischa has a very nice rich tone and since she grew up in the States her English pronunciation is quite good. Minju while on pitch doesn't have as rich a tone as the other 5 girls.
ARa, HyeRim, Dancing was pretty good it was energetic and they had good unison give them 2nd for Dancing, Singing very good. First for singing. HyeRim has great lower pitch tone and pretty good high pitch singing. Also has unusually good English pronunciation. ARa has great upper pitch thickness and tone. A Bit quiet on the lower notes but very very good in the top. Also dispite a very energetic performance their harmonies and singing was spot on.
SoHee and SuMin. SuMin was sick and had throat problems which hurt their performance greatly. I'd give them first in the Dancing but third in singing. No SuMin's fault but it happened. Her upper singing was flawed and Sohee just doesn't have a rich enough voice to bring any wow factor to the performance. Dancing though was very nice.
So my ranking for all 3 groups. 1st) Ara, and HyeRim, 2nd) SoHee and SuMin, 3rd) Minju and Chrischa. Of course this is all my opinion and not necessarily yours :)

I personally don't like this song but I did like this performance. These two girls have really grown on me! love them both. so hardworking and talented!
