THE VIEW FROM THE DIVING BOARD IS NEVER AS WONDERFUL AS BEING IN THE WATER
I'm a car guy. To me, the automobile is more than a transportation tool. It's a lifestyle. It's a passion. It's a dream come true. I suppose I was born with wheels on my feet because we moved around the country in automobiles, pulling trailer houses, and preaching the gospel.
That may have been where I picked up my passion for the American automobile. I can hardly wait to get my hands on the steering wheel and hit the road.
And I did just that in my 51 Ford convertible when I was 17. I left California and went north and preached my first revival meeting. I can still feel the rush of freedom, the joy of driving on the road with the top down and the wind whistling by my head. With the radio playing, a favorite song, and the highway stretching out ahead of me, I was as close to heaven as I ever thought I could be.
Sitting in the parking lot with the radio playing, and even revving, the engine could never satisfy me. I need the open road to be fulfilled.
In the book of Psalms, the 84th chapter, David says a day in the house of the Lord is worth more than 1000 days anywhere else. Wow, can I ever relate to that?
Experience that's where it's at. Getting behind the wheel and feeling the wind in your hair.
So many are addicted to another teaching session or conference on their favorite subjects. Yet, they have never experienced the topic itself.
You can dissect all the scriptures word by word on divine healing. But you'll never really know the subject until you lay hands on the sick and see them healed and recovered.
You can study until your eyeballs hurt on the subject of the angelic and their work and duty that they have toward us. Yet when you experience a face-to-face encounter with the angelic, that's when it becomes a reality for you.
Get off the diving board and get in the water, my friends. It's a lot more fun.
