Lads our entire state is over-policed, it's just Aussies only notice when it might interfere with their ability to enjoy sport. I'm a Sky Blue fan, Wanderers fans usually only ever throw verbal insults my way. Bit of banter, nothing more. It's the police who are more likely to actually get aggressive or hostile at me over something insignificant.
Lads, I'm an A-league fan in Singapore and I regularly watch the league from here and the way the league is run is disappointing. They need to do more to grow the league long term, not make profits in the short term. Once a year I come back to Melbs and like to get to a game while in town. $77 a ticket is ridiculous, last year $55 was a stretch but for a once a year experience I can stomach it, $77 + booking fees is too much. Plus paying to bring along my AFL loving family, to convert them, at that price is crazy. They need bums on seats as a priority, fans create atmosphere, atmosphere creates buzz, buzz draws new fans. They also need to bring the cost of the shirts down. I walk into Rebel and see a multi panel Liverpool kit or a printed polyester A League shirt at the same price, I'm taking the Liverpool kit everyday. Kits on backs are free advertising for the clubs and the league. Finally, they unite round fiasco is a farce. Get rid of any ideas of a Sydney grand final, bin unite round and make Alliance the new Wembley for the FFA Cup.
The APL view fans as customers and want to sanitise football in this country to make it as family friendly event to attract more $$$. Simon Hill has tried on multiple occasions to get APL members on his radio show for transparency around things like the police crackdown (which is in conjunction with the APL). They use the fans singing, chanting, marching in their promo material yet BAN said fans from doing that.
If anything Australian football needs, is mainstream. As of Gavin,Endorses Pine’O’Clean, looks like Mr Sheen. 😂. The positive of Unite Round was definitely the fanzone. they should integrate in the Grand Final Week or do it in a weekend if an A-League All Stars takes place.
@Rash do you think the types of fans that rip seats out are the demographic and maturity to have strategic thoughts and conversations with the club, police, A League???
I came down from Canberra for the whole weekend. Between accomodation, food, tickets, petrol and stupid fucken toll roads it cost quite a bit for what we got. I had a fun and watched every game had a good chat with gav too but I don’t think I’d go again it’s just too expensive
IF Unite Round is to stay it needs to be in January in the peak of School Holidays and needs to be in a city with high amounts of Tourism that really only leaves Sydney, Melbourne or the Gold Coast
If the Melbourne Derby ends up being at a Unite Round then it will be the worst thing for the league. Yes its an away day but you can't have these kind of matches in a different state. I am not for Unite Round because to me its all based on generating money from the Casual fans and the die hard fans that can afford to pay the luxury of travel and accomodation.
lol 😂 how many fans do the right thing and then the one or couple of idiots that fuck it up for everybody else should get bashed really badly only a few people reck it for the whole code hahah what power and control do those idiots have. When fans stop going the Aleague will stop functioning then they will cry out for help. How come the game was he best in 2007 times and the game is nearly finished in 2024 👀🔥🤫 without Victory fans or Sydney FC fans what will the league be get rid of the top 2 best teams. What is Perth glory or Newcastle jets going to keep the league alive. We are all becoming soft as a whole as humans and as a code
A league lost all credibility when they they started constantly getting flogged by npl teams. Possibly biased view coming from massive Oakleigh supporter but still a league is shit
They don't get flogged. Plus Aus cup is geared to favour NPL teams. It's played in the A league off season against well conditioned semi-pros. It's also always an away game.
I guess that's why NSL lost all credibility as they got flogged by State league teams back in old NSL cup sometimes... yet an NSL team would still win it. Ahhh now it makes sense why they stopped state league teams from playing in the NSL cup so that NSL teams wouldn't get flogged
Love your stuff! Let’s get a collab going !!

Bit random but I’d love to hear him out
Get Besart Berisha on he will be a amazing interview 🙏🙏🙏
The dfference between here and anywhere else is that if the police didnt allow the march, the fans would march anyways

F3 derby should have been either a Saturday or Sunday. Not a Friday night for Jets and Mariner fans
Mariners had to play a Champions League game in Japan on the 26th hence why their game was on a Friday
Thoughts on Unknown Moments 5?
